I think when it comes to book to movie adaptations, a limited series is best because it can cover so much more. I watched the limited series for Behind Her Eyes & it was kind of perfection to me because it had space to be expanded upon. I think that’s the way to do it. And I think it was only 6 episodes. Let’s scrap films for books & just do limited series instead! 😂🥰🥰
Ohhhh, I am so glad you loved The Hating Game! I have not watched the movie... yet. When I read the book a couple years... wait 3? 4yrs? Anyway, the Actress they choose to play Lucy was the one I pictured. I thought, "How frickin' cool is that?!"
Literally so glad you loved The Hating Game!! I agree with everything you said about the movie. Mad at the flips in order at the end but Lucy Hale did so good as Lucy and I liked Josh too. But the chemistry was a little low against the book
I'm sorry to hear you got Covid Becca- I hope you get better soon. I'm glad you enjoyed The Hating Game- I might pick up a copy of it over the weekend.
The hating game is one of my favorite romance of all time. So so good! I was scared the adaptation would be too hallmarky but it ended up being fine even if not as good as the book. In 99 % mine paperback, you got a little bonus chapter set in the near future with Josh and Lucy and it's cute. As for one summer, I didn't like it, the Heroine was too shallow and cringy but book 2 with fox was reall great! Cheers from France!
I feel so validated right now :) I also wasn't the biggest fan of It happened one summer which was surprising since everyone seem to love it... so the fact you enjoyed Hook line and sinker much more is a good sign for me :)
Have you read people we meet on vacation? I don’t normally do friends to lovers. I’m normally enemies to lovers, but that book was so good. I think the going between past and present really helped.
So glad you loved The Hating Game. I have read it so many times. There are so many classic scenes. Paint ball. Sick bed. Koala. And so on. And so on. I’ve given four copies to friends.
That test passed by so fast at first I thought it was a pregnancy test...lol. Sorry you had Rona. Hope your feeling better and Curtis was able to avoid it.
You fully summed up all my thoughts on the bellinger sisters books! Also could just be me looking into it too much but it happened one summer had some slightly misogynistic undertones which I think dampened my enjoyment even more.
II enjoyed iIt Happened One Summer but I liked Hannah more than Piper as a character so I’m excited to get to Hook, Line and Sinker 😊 hope you’re feeling much better 😊
Hope you are feeling better! So happy you loved The Hating Game! It’s my all-time favorite. I’ve re-read it a few times. I didn’t like the movie for pretty much the reasons you mentioned. I think I’ll give Tessa Bailey another chance. At the very least read Hook, Line, and Sinker. Your review has me intrigued. Fix Her Up was a 2-stars and dnf’d Love Her or Lose Her. So 🤞
THANK YOU FOR THIS 💕 i was genuinely afraid and im so glad you loved the hating game. Lately the Spanish Love Deception has been getting all the love and to be honest i feel like its a CARBON COPY of Hating Game and HG does certain tropes like taking care of them when theyre sick SO MUCH BETTER….rant over just thank you
O.m.g… watching the beginning bee roll, Did I just think those double lines were a positive pregnancy test? Yes. I froze in shock for a good 3 minutes 🤣🤣🤣🤣 then it hit me, loool.
I love the hating game, it’s probably my favourite romance of all time, but if you’re going to try Sally Thornes other books just be aware that neither are as hot, and her latest one is actually just sweet with like no spice that I can remember. 99% mine gets bad reviews across the board but I loved it, but I would definitely be careful with that one too since everyone else is in agreement that it’s weird 😂
I enjoyed 'It happened one summer' way more than 'hook, line, and sinker' because the smut scenes of Fox and Hannah were just weird to me. there's also a black screen at the end of the video with just music fyi
It Happened One Summer's spicy scenes were SO cringy for me. Like. Secondhand embarrassment was so strong. 😂 I don't think I can put myself through another one of her books. The Hating Game was...fine. Not such a fan of the writing style.
It happened one Summer in my opinion much better than the other Tessa Bailey series. I just don’t think I enjoy her writing to be honest. I almost dnf’d love her or lose her because of the toxic relationship vibes and not in a fun spicy way. The Hating game on the other hand is still one of my favourites!
Growly bed goblin...best line of the vlog imo
It Happened One Summer was a recent favourite read of mine . Light and fun and yes romantic. I have the sequel, looking forward to reading it.

I hope you get to feeling better, Becca!!
Ok fine, I'll reread the hating game!! I read it in 2016 and only gave it 3 stars... Ready to see if it was a time/place issue!
Absolutely loved the hating game, as soon as I was done with it I wanted to read it again
Literally so glad you loved The Hating Game!! I agree with everything you said about the movie. Mad at the flips in order at the end but Lucy Hale did so good as Lucy and I liked Josh too. But the chemistry was a little low against the book
I read The hating game during a night shift and i was OBSESSED! Gave it 5 stars !

The MMC in The Score by Elle Kennedy has similar vibes to Fox and Josh!! Iirc, it’s the third in the series of college-age hockey romances

I hope you're feeling so much better now! And I'm so tempted by the Hating Game

Same feeling as I had when I finished the hating game in February ❤️
After the hating game you need to read Mariana Zapata From Lukov with love
That test passed by so fast at first I thought it was a pregnancy test...lol. Sorry you had Rona. Hope your feeling better and Curtis was able to avoid it.
The hating game is like drug. I can never stop reading. Its my go to romance when i am sick and when I am sad abd i just love it!
I watched The Hating Game with my boyfriend and we loved it

Great vlog! 🙂
I got tested positive for the Rona yesterday, so feel you on that 😑
UGH YES, I love when you pour candles on film 🤠

Damn thanks for letting me know, I'll fix that 😂

My theory is that there's crack on the pages of The Hating Game! Don't get me wrong, I love the book! But there's crack on the pages!

I thought the plot in the hating game was good but I couldn't get past the writing style. It threw me out of the story
If the love interest calling someone baby was cringe then just don't read the fix her up series cause oh wow
