The King James is not the absolute Bible. You will not find the word Lucifer in any old German Protestant Bible, it is a Latin word meaning bringer of light. And it is precisely because this Bible put this word into the world that there are now so many people who are confused. In Hebrew it means something like.... howling, bright, shining, but nothing to do with light. In the Butcher's Bible it's translated as shining star, son of the dawn and that refers back to Ezekiel where the men are worshipping, facing east (that's where the sun rises), kneeling before the sun and worshipping it and that's why he's called the son of the dawn because the false Christians (Catholics) worship the sunrise at Easter.

The first reference to the morning star as an individual is in Isaiah 14:12: “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!” (NIV). The KJV and NKJV both translate “morning star” as “Lucifer, son of the morning.” It is clear from the rest of the passage that Isaiah is referring to Satan’s fall from heaven (Luke 10:18). So in this case, the morning star refers to Satan. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus unmistakably identifies Himself as the morning star. Why are both Jesus and Satan described as the “morning star”?
It is interesting to note that the concept of the “morning star” is not the only concept that is applied to both Jesus and Satan. In Revelation 5:5, Jesus is referred to as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. In 1 Peter 5:8, Satan is compared to a lion, seeking someone to devour. The point is this, both Jesus and Satan, to a certain extent, have similarities to lions. Jesus is similar to a lion in that He is the King, He is royal and majestic. Satan is similar to a lion in that he seeks to devour other creatures. That is where the similarities between Jesus, Satan, and lions end, however. Jesus and Satan are like lions in very different ways.
The idea of a “bright morning star” is a star that outshines all the others. Satan, as perhaps the most beautiful creation of God, probably the most powerful of all the angels, was a bright morning star. Jesus, as God incarnate, the Lord of the universe, is THE bright and morning star. Jesus is the most holy and powerful “light” in all the universe. So, while both Jesus and Satan can be described as “bright morning stars,” in no sense is this equating Jesus and Satan. Satan is a created being. His light only exists to the extent that God created it. Jesus is the light of the world (John 9:5). Only Jesus’ light is self-existent. Satan may be a bright morning star, but he is only a poor imitation of the one true bright morning star, Jesus Christ, the light of the world.

Wrong. The NIV is not a translation of the KJV. The NIV and other modern translations are actually translations of other, older manuscripts. Do the research.

The name Lucifer occurs once in the Scriptures and only in some versions of the Bible. For example, the King James Version renders Isaiah 14:12: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!”
The Hebrew word translated “Lucifer” means “shining one.”In some translations the Latin Vulgate term “Lucifer” is retained. It is, however, merely the translation of the Hebrew word heh·lelʹ, “shining one.” Heh·lelʹ is not a name or a title but, rather, a term describing the boastful position taken by Babylon’s dynasty of kings of the line of Nebuchadnezzar. The Septuagint uses the Greek word that means “bringer of dawn.” Hence, some translations render the original Hebrew “morning star” or “Daystar.” But Jerome’s Latin Vulgate uses “Lucifer” (light bearer), and this accounts for the appearance of that term in various versions of the Bible.
Who is this Lucifer? The expression “shining one,” or “Lucifer,” is found in what Isaiah prophetically commanded the Israelites to pronounce as a “proverbial saying against the king of Babylon.” Thus, it is part of a saying primarily directed at the Babylonian dynasty. That the description “shining one” is given to a man and not to a spirit creature is further seen by the statement: “Down to Sheol you will be brought.” Sheol is the common grave of mankind-not a place occupied by Satan the Devil, and Satan most certainly isnt dead. Moreover, those seeing Lucifer brought into this condition ask: “Is this the man that was agitating the earth?” Clearly, “Lucifer” refers to a human, not to a spirit creature, also men cannot see invisible spirit creatures.-Isaiah 14:4, 15, 16.
Why is such an eminent description given to the Babylonian dynasty? We must realize that the king of Babylon was to be called the shining one only after his fall and in a taunting way. (Isaiah 14:3) Selfish pride prompted Babylon’s kings to elevate themselves above those around them. So great was the arrogance of the dynasty that it is portrayed and represented as bragging and saying in his heart: “To the heavens I shall go up. Above the stars of God I shall lift up my throne, and I shall sit down upon the mountain of meeting, in the remotest parts of the north. . . . I shall make myself resemble the Most High.”-Isaiah 14:13, 14.
Biblical evidence points to Mount Zion as the “mountain of meeting.” Hence, since stars can refer to kings (Nu 24:17; Re 22:16), “the stars of God” must be the kings of the Davidic line who ruled from Mount Zion. The “king of Babylon” (the dynasty of Babylonian kings), reflecting the attitude of Satan the god of this system of things, indicated his ambition to lift up his throne “above the stars of God” by desiring to make the kings of the line of David mere vassals and then finally to dethrone them. Like stars that shed light, the “king of Babylon” shone brightly in the ancient world and could be termed “shining one.”
“The stars of God” are the kings of the royal line of David. (Numbers 24:17) From David onward, these “stars” ruled from Mount Zion. After Solomon built the temple in Jerusalem, the name Zion came to apply to the whole city. Under the Law covenant, all male Israelites were obliged to travel to Zion three times a year. Thus, it became “the mountain of meeting.” By determining to subjugate the Judean kings and then remove them from that mountain, Nebuchadnezzar is declaring his intention to put himself above those “stars.” Instead of giving God the Father(yhwh; here after simply Jehovah) credit for the victory over them, he arrogantly puts himself in Jehovah’s place. So it is after being cut down to the earth that the Babylonian dynasty is mockingly referred to as the “shining one.”
The pride of the Babylonian rulers indeed reflected the attitude of “the god of this system of things”-Satan the Devil. (2 Corinthians 4:4) He too lusts for power and longs to place himself above Jehovah God. But Lucifer is not a name Scripturally given to Satan as is shown beyond doubt by careful examination of the scriptures.
You're taking it out of context. Lucifer was once a morning star before his fall from grace. In Revelation, Jesus heralds Himself as THE Morningstar to emphasize that His defeat over Lucifer is sealed and He is the one in authority not Lucifer.
Then you're calling God a liar because it is written that God had made him perfect "until iniquity was found in him"
By that, you're saying God makes things defective.
It is not how Lucifer was made that is the issue, it is what Lucifer chose to do with his sovereignty, independent from God.

Lucifer is not a proper name. Lucifer is a LATIN WORD which means light bearer, morning star or the light. Satan the devil means the ADVERSARY or the enemy. Jesus is the true light and morning star but He is not Satan the devil. commonsense pastor Jesus is the Son of God while Satan is the enemy of God so don't you ever compare Jesus to Satan the devil.
My friend, I am a Pastor who does my best to check in on The Hebrew and Greek. I do prefer KJV but also have found value in other translations. original Greek and Hebrew being Infalable. My friend I say in all Love that Pride comes through stong in your post. People don't care how much we know til they know how much we care. Really not trying to bash you. I really do care. Even if you feel that way and some of the points have some validity. No one is going to hear you when you come off so prideful and lack compassion.

Read in the book of Job when the most high YHWH calls all the angels or refers to them as morning stars. This is just shows in this subject matter you need to pray more and humble yourself
"Lucifer" is a Latin word for Venus, during which half of the year occurs in the sky as "the morning star", and the other half of the year as "the evening star". A basic dictionary search can tell you as much. The interchange between Hebrew sensibility and foreign languages (such as Latin, and Greek, and then English, at last...) is a clear cause of confusion for many. With that said, I do not believe the NIV, or any other bible is insinuating or otherwise implying that Jesus (another foreign rendering of the messiah's actual name, "Yeshua") is Satan. "Lucifer" means one thing. "Satan" means another. And "Yeshua" means another yet again. You say you're a Pastor, and yet you're unaware of these basics ?? ........ Thumbs down on this video. BTW: have you even bothered to look at Strong's concordance? Or still, etymology 101 ?
ordinary chap Very wise comment. I was born again at the age of 24 on 12-26-1983 and have been reading and studying the NIV since 1983. Believe me the Lord would have instructed me through the Holy Spirit if there was something wrong with the NIV version. These KJV only enthusiast are very arrogant and pridefull and will never admit they are wrong. Like Paul would probably say that they cause great division among believers. True followers filled with the Holy Spirit cannot be decieved. These people are very argumentive and will never admit to the truth. Jesus is the word John 1:1-18.

@@TvBaba-dem Jesus in the Greek means Iesous and comes from the root word from the origin יְהוֹשׁוּעַ which means Yehoshua in its elongated form. According to Strong’s definitions we get יְהוֹשׁוּעַ which means Yehoshua and we get יְהוֹשֻׁעַ which is pronounced yeh-ho-shoo'-ah according to the vowel points.

I think the link I just posted about the NIV is reasonable information to show it does not deceptively promote incorrect scripture. I was brought to Christ by reading the NIV and so was inspired through the Word to follow Jesus, coming out of darkness.
The KJV is using a term that was brought into the Church by Origen. Other Patristic writers concurred including Jerome and the KJV translators. The KJV provides a marginal note, "O day star"; which is one meaning for "Lucifer", another is "morning star". You are basically agreeing with people that you don't agree with.
This pastor is brave to telling you the truth I pray to Yahweh that them no kill him, respect to you pastor.

The King James Version isn’t real either... you’re worshipping baal... lord literally means baal... free masons changed it during one of the many times it was revised and translated. If you’re reading a version of the Bible that doesn’t say Yahweh or jehovah, you’re reading something that’s been deliberately mistranslated in order to keep you misinformed.

Ive never fully read the bible and i am going to start, but the main question i have is which version?, i watch videos that say the wording is very different in each version. And i know they twist the meaning of words around like the lord baal thing. It keeps me from reading it beacuse im scared to interpret it incorrectly. So i appreciate this info greatly!
billy mcfadden .. i know how you feel. But the best thing that worked for me was to get a basic understanding of hebrew letters & words. (Allan Horvath has some really good lessons here on YT). Thats how i learned to look up words in the strongs concordance and compare it to the structure of the original hebrew language. Don't be discouraged. Pick one version and take it apart. Bit by bit. Shalom.
Jews used to say “Adonai (my Lord)”whenever referring to Jehovah, so the Bible uses the term “Lord” to refer to God. Baal can also mean “lord” but is it usually used when referring to a master, owner, and/or, possessor.
@@billymcfadden9226 Alot of people claim the King James is the only way to go but this is not true, I use an amplified bible that is much easier to understand and I would recommend it, you can get a E-Sword or My Sword App depending what kind of phone you have and it will give you the option to compare several Bible's to the King James and then you will see whether you think that they say the same thing,that is what I did and my Bible works great for me and really strengthened my walk with God also the King James version on the E-Sword has the numbers next to the words that when you click on the number it gives you the original Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic translation and definition, I hope this helps you ,God Bless you ❣

The Letter brings death, the Spirit gives life. True Christians are not under the Written Law, because the Law was not Written for the righteous. Love is the fulfillment of all the laws of the prophets. God is LOVE, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in he. Where God has preserved His Word, having become flesh and crucified for our sins, and risen by the Father, that the grave would no longer hold Him, Who alone has overcome the World. And His Word is preserved within our hearts, wherealso the True Church is.

Preserved, no! But didn't the Lord command to spread the gospel all over the world? Thanks to Luther and Calvijn the bible was translated for the people who needed to hear the gospel and not just and only through the rules of the catholic church ! To this day, even outside the gospel, things can at times be difficult to translate! The effort is to stay as close to the first language it is translated out of. In this case Hebrew.
My name, starting with an A. is the Greek translation for a Hebrew name. So it's GOOD that the Word of God is translated the best way possible. But the quotation of this man is absolutely out of order, thereby NOT correct! That's what THIS is about.

Always assumed NIV stood for "New International Version". Anyways, I looked up my NIV and found the difference in Isaiah 14:12's and Revelation 22:16's 'morning star'. In Isa 14:12 its "morning star" and in Rev 22:16 its "the bright Morning Star" . Its easily understood that theres a difference between both the references.

Now when you get to the part about Revelations and connecting Jesus with Lucifer or Satan I do agree with that completely because every time I even read it or sometimes I'll listen to it being read I find it to be very disturbing and messed up and how anybody could sit there and want to think that that is divinely written no it's not

No translation is inspired , including the KJV. That is why the KJV had thousands of footnotes. Giving alternative readings, because the translators were not always sure of the meaning. I would like to point out a very interesting comparison that 'Pastor Wagner' fails to make. Notice the terminology used in both verses in question. First Isaiah 14:12 (KJV) 'O Lucifer, son of the morning' - Lucifer being translated 'shining one' or 'morning star' and Second Rev. 22:16, (KJV) 'the bright and morning star'. The first reference refers to Lucifer as the 'morning star' or rather, upon further study, 'one of the morning stars' and the second reference reveals that Jesus was not referring to himself as 'one of many others', but rather, 'THE bright and morning star' singular. It is clear, or at least it should be that scripture, nor Jesus, does not place Satan on the same level as Jesus, but reveals that Jesus is making a clear distinction that He is the Highest & Brightest of the morning stars. If you are so inclined to do some more study, I offer just a couple sites that break this study down much further than 'Pastor Wagner' and are not so intent on declaring a particular version better or more sacred than the next, but rather are interested in discerning truth in the text, regardless of the acronym on the jacket of the translation.

The phrase "sons of God" is referring to angels and is used in the first chapter of Job of the angels in the heavenly council (Job 1: 6 and following). I'm sure you know that already, but I don't think you were familiar with that verse in Job 38: 7 when God was challenging Job and asking him all those questions. The Hebrew word in Isaiah 14:12 (shakh'-ar H7836) for morning is pretty clearly referring to morning "dawn" "day spring" "early light". This is in the KJV. It's not an erroneous translation. That this term may be used referring to both Lucifer and Jesus Christ in two different places in the Bible doesn't mean the translators of the NIV (or KJV) are saying Jesus Christ is Lucifer. Perhaps a good place to start would be to study why Christ is called this in the first place.
The word Ba'al for instance, is literally translated "son of God" from the Hebrew, does this mean the Bible is calling Jesus Christ a false God because it calls him the Son of God? We must read scripture in context. Satan once held a position at God's right hand - now Christ is at God's right hand. That no more makes him satan than a shared title like morning star.
The NIV may have it's problems, particularly more recent versions than the 1984, but the translators throughout the rest of the version clearly weren't calling Jesus Christ Lucifer or satan. In any version, KJV or otherwise, the Bible must be read in context and difficult verses that seem to contradict must be read in light of the clear verses. This requires a little more work than snarky rewordings of the various versions acronyms.

Please research outside of this I was fooled like this for a short time. Modern translations do not say Jesus Christ fell from heaven, this guy is very uneducated. Lucifer is not a name it’s a word meaning “Shining one” that’s why modern translations say “Shining one” or something VERY close to that. Lucifer is translated from Latin NOT Hebrew. Jesus “Bright morning star” Satan is “Morning star”. Don’t take my word for it though please research from those who look at the original language Gods word is in originally
I like to say Jesus and Satan are not same ... if you read well with understanding, you will find out that the bible called satan son of the morning star (just like saying son of Zeus but he isn't Zeus), but he isn't morning star . Hence Jesus on the other hand is the morning star (not son of morning star).
