Sesame Place Water Park in San Diego | Water Slides POV

- Take a ride on the water slides at Sesame Place in San Diego, California, United States. Formerly known as Aquatica San Diego, the water park was converted into Sesame Place for the 2022 season. Many of the slides got repainted, plenty of dry rides, such as a roller coaster, were added and Aquatica's original design got entirely replaced by Sesame Street theming. Unfortunately, the speed body slides were removed from the park. We never visited the park when it was still Aquatica, however, we visited the other two Aquatica water parks in the US. We think the re-development of the park is a downgrade, especially because the theming does not really fit the park and adding pavement to a water park (where the parades take place) might not be the smartest idea in SoCal where the sun is shining most of the time. Also, the mix of dry rides and water attractions is a bit strange as the areas are not separated from eachother. However, we loved the mat racer slide at the park - it is one of the best ones we have ever tried! We are glad this slide did not get re-painted or replaced as it the ride is perfect the way it is.
Please note: Plenty of slides were closed when we visited the park.

This park originally opened with a Western theme in 1997 as Whitewater Canyon. The park was sold to Cedar Fair in 2000 and was renamed to Knott's Soak City. It was one of three waterparks across Southern California that shared that same name until the park was sold to SeaWorld Entertainment in 2013. I went there a year later and while it wasn't as good as their Orlando location, I enjoyed it a lot more than the one in San Antonio. I promise you guys would've thought so to if you had visited before the Sesame Place transformation.

@Maddox2021 - Comedy and More Alternate Perhaps you're right though can assure you these two were the only adults without kids at this amusement park. It's not their fault they've covered just about every waterslides out there and are running out of new material for us, therefore they have to settle for what Sesame Street has to offer. Wouldn't be surprised if next week's video they're showing us footage of them going down the Peppa Pig waterslide. LOL
@@shawneyatrics you’d actually be surprised how many adults attend the park without kids.
@@Officialemmaking Wouldn't call them adults if they're not filming themselves going down waterslides or not there with a family which includes children. Maybe a good idea for management to provide a leash for every kid so parents won't have to worry about strangers approaching them with the promise of candy and ice cream.
@@shawneyatrics I’ve literally worked there and a lot of the time, if not every time, when adults are there by themselves they’re there to enjoy the water park or the entertainment offerings. It’s actually a very fun environment with great atmosphere.

Here’s what I tell people that are scared. It is just like riding a normal waterslide but with a special effect to start off because it really doesn’t feel that different compared to what you expect. All it does is kinda give you a boost so you go down the slide a little faster
It‘s not much of a deal actually. The first rides are always a bit terrifying, but the scariest part is the moment standing in the drop capsule. The actual dropping feels just like a normal, steeper water slide.
