One of my favorite songs! I always wanted to play this, and now maybe I'll be able to. Dude you break it down so simple and so learnable . Thank you man!
Youre not really suposed to mute the strings man, when you let them ring out it gives it a bit of this lonely kind of feeling and thats how you match the loneliness and ssdness of never too late
Dude, I love your vids! You're so full of energy and just really mellow. Thanks for the tutorial! P.S. could you do a tutorial of Check My Brain by Alice In Chains?
cool video, thanks! i saw you on a few of marty shwartz's videos.your awesome dude. between you, martyzsongs, and mike gross I have learned so much in the past year. You guys ROCK!
Thank you so much for this video. Started training to learn it yesterday, the video I saw said to do it different (open D then D-10 D-8 D-7 to A-8 and then repeat. this is much easier
If it's too hard for you. Use two fingers instead and the tiny pinky finger on the other string but you need to learn how to press hard with pinky finger otherwise it will sound like shit
Hey Papastachepop! I really like your tutorials-- they're awesome! Could you please do "Feels Like Forever" by Of Mice & Men? I'd really appreciate it. I love the song but no one's done a tutorial. Thanks!
Question: I am not a big guitar aficionado as far as playing guitar, but I love guitar rock, and I really love this song, and three days grace in general (lately maybe not so much). During the chorus on the album version, there is a distinct high pitched guitar playing offsetting high notes, and they appear to never play it live. I searched for two hours today to try and find the reason and I haven't yet. I did find an article describe the song as: "Choruses are played on two distorted electric guitars, one plays power chords for the entire chorus, while another plays high ringing single notes and from the middle of the chorus starts playing arpeggio." Would Adam have played that portion on the album? I thought maybe because he's no longer with the band, that it is the reason it isn't played, but even live versions with him don't have that played. I saw them last night in concert, second act for Shinedown (main act), and overall they were a little disappointing. That missing portion of the song sort of iced it, not trying to sound elitist about my own musical tastes, but everyone has something that really calls to them in certain songs, and for me, that section of the chorus where the layers of guitars split off and cascade with those high notes was the best part of the song, and they don't do it live. Just wondered if you had any insight into why not?
PapaStache! I'm looking for a tab on the little guitar riff that plays in the background around the 2nd part of the chorus. You'll hear it around 0:52 in the first round. I cant seem to play it right
I have a question...in your lesson you explain that you are in Drop D tuning...yet you refer to the "E" string. Is this convention while playing in Drop D? (to retain the nomenclature from Standard?) I'm new to Drop D and I'd like to get it correct.
I know this vid is old but, and I only started learning this song recently, but I have been having difficulty with something. If there are any guitarists who also sing, why am I having such horrible difficulty doing both at the same time? Im doing decent with pretty much all of the guitar, but as soon as I try to sing along I become out of sync and EVERYTHING stops.
Shannon Lewis This might be a little late, but what I've done to get better at it, is start playing easier songs to sync with the guitar. My personal favourite is Hurt - Johnny Cash.
Actually this song was pop. Pop = Popular. This was a popular mainstream song played on the radio frequently. Therefore it was was kind of a pop rock song.
Just saying, this song is own by Adam Gontier as well as 3DG, would be cool if everyone would give him the credit as well in their titles. FYI it was Adam n his wife Naomi who wrote that song.
Hello Brett thanks for all you do. I emailed you months ago, and I know you get tons of email, inquiring whether you might consider doing a tutorial on Fire in the Hole VHIII. Awesome song on a bad album. Steve
This intro is so fun to play

It is not really a Fender. It is a Bill Nash 60's Strat which I added a Dimarzio Tone Zone to.
They say old is gold and it really is true ❤️

+justin swigart you put your ring finger over both strings instead of one...? Obviously you dont use the tip of your finger
If it's too hard for you. Use two fingers instead and the tiny pinky finger on the other string but you need to learn how to press hard with pinky finger otherwise it will sound like shit
JustAboutEverything yes i know ive practice and now i can bar
I'm still practicing it :(
Naftaliten Why is baring so hard for y'all? It's literally laying your finger over multiple strings.
Hey Papastachepop! I really like your tutorials-- they're awesome! Could you please do "Feels Like Forever" by Of Mice & Men? I'd really appreciate it. I love the song but no one's done a tutorial. Thanks!

Nash strat with a dimarzio tonezone humbucker
Are you strumming every string from 8:00 to 9:00 around there?
this video was the best I'M SUBSCRIBING

Shannon Lewis i play guitar and i cannot sing at the same time you're not alone
I’ve heard that a metronome helps, there’s probably a free app you can try
can you do one for the intro to don't blink by kenney chesney
great PAPA! good stuff
maybe not pop but still a good track to explain!
Can you please teach I cross my heart by George strait
Can you do Penta.
Actually this song was pop. Pop = Popular. This was a popular mainstream song played on the radio frequently. Therefore it was was kind of a pop rock song.

Can you do "If i close my eyes forever" by Ozzy and Lita Ford? Please.....
Yay thanks (: cool!
link didn't work for me could you do : Untraveled Road by Thousand Foot Krutch
Why not just hit the open 4,5,6 strings? In drop d tuning you have a d chord, then hit the,8,7,10 frets...
PapastachePop can you please tell me your amp settings? Thanks
Why does this sound so wrong on my guitar. It's tuned right open but sounds off once I'm holding down anywhere on the frets. Just this song tho.
Do you learn theese songs really fast or do you already know them
Learn them on the spot.
hey awsm lesson thnkz a ton n could plz tell the amp settings tht u used???
+Sagar Chadha its an acoustic there are no amp settings......
More electric
+PapaStachePop can u teach me how to play memory remains by metallica

Something about you reminds me of Tyler Connolly when he had the handlebars
adamsın micheal scott
I didnt even watch the video and i learned by myself lol, i was planning to watch it
Riff sorry for the typo error
i don't know why but my D string always sounds kinda blunt, like there no vibrations and all the others are buzzing
Mine does the same idk why
@@aliyadavis4230 Right
Is their a way I can play it in standard tuning ?
you have to go 2 frets lower for the low e. it's *way* harder and i wouldn't recommend it. it's possible, just not practical.
Candle box full solo
technically it is pop, it's pop 2k, but i like to think its metal 😂
It is metal.
Creo que es más Technical Death Metal!
Black veil brides please
No never
Mr Waffles fuck you waffle face
