Good job Jason. Always have something interesting to show us. Maintenance has always been the first budget to cut and the last department to receive raises in the scheme of government. Your local government is blessed to have you.

Thank you. I try to do my best and the town I work for treats me pretty well. We do have people leaving and zero applicants to fill there jobs so winter is going to be interesting.

Those upfitter switches make addons so much easier. Mauler the Installer still manages to bungle installations. That 06 looks pretty clean for a New England truck. It must not be used much in the winter.

It only has like 40k on it. It was a chip truck for another department. I took the dump body off and put on the service body.

@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic I was wondering if it used to have a dump body or something because I saw the controller next to the driver's seat

It did have a dump body on it. I had changed it over not long before this video.

Nice to see some pre-wiring from the factory. Did you know about the pre-wiring or use a wiring diagram? I would have needed a wiring diagram. I hope those wires only have source when the key is in the accessory or run position. I was yelled at once for calling a cabin panel a fire wall. It stuck. I now refer to it as a cabin panel.

I had to look up where the wiring was but I was aware it was there. It’s in slightly different locations on the different generations so it’s nice to know where to look in the bundle of wires. They are only powered with the key on which I like. They get left on sometimes when there is full time power. The 2017+ has an option to move a fuse to get full time power on one or two of the switches though. I find everyone calls the same parts something different across the manufacturers i had someone look at me like I was stupid at the parts store because I gave them the wrong name for a part. I just shrugged it off and got the part. For instance ford now calls the clock spring a cover and contact, at least that’s what the box says.

From what I was able to find on google it seems it’s in the central junction box. Other than that I don’t really know where it is. It seems there is some mystery to where it is online as well. I seen it’s in the battery junction box on a 2000 with a v10. I’m sure you’ve probably already checked these areas so I’m probably not going to be much help. Sorry.
