Thanks brother! The most realistic time line for taking an exam for being a busy person, but it is possible. Thanks for the motivation and making this video!
@@colinrhee98 It was harder than I expected. I studied hard for it, and it paid off, though. At some point, you will feel like you may be failing. But keep on going and trust you know what you are testing for. You got this. I recommend labing and getting as much hands-on experience as you can. This allows you to understand the concepts and know how to do them yourself.
@@adambauer2597 yeh couldn't agree more. Doing lots of labs really helps to solidify the knowledge and after a while it all becomes second nature. I am currently re-doing my CCNA (did it 10 years ago) and the fact that I really took the time to learn it properly the first time means that even though I haven't used it in years, it is very easy to jump back into it. I looked at some subnetting exercises for the first time in long time recently and could instantly work them out. I can still subnet in my head lol. I can still get OSPF up and running in no time. Repetition is key to the CCNA!
This is a very impressive achievement! No previous related experience, working 3 jobs, and starting with the book. The only things I would've done differently is I would've first watched a video training to get a good understanding of the topics (first Practical Networking's video series about network fundamentals, then Neil Anderson's course (Flackbox): his labs are especially superb), because the book can be very dry if that's what you start with, but I love that it's so detailed, so I would've filled in the details using the book. I would've also went to bed immediately after going home from work and studied first thing in the morning. Or is that what you did when you mentioned you started almost 2 hours early at work? Thank you very much for this video, and again, congratulations on your achievement! There are many people who never even get the CCNA.
Scheduled my CCNA for March 10th 2025. I have the official online study course through Cisco, and I’ve also been watching Jeremy’s IT Lab (the best RUclips resource I’ve come across). Fingers crossed!
Honestly, l love this video and the motivation. I have the cert guide vol 1&2, cisco ccna in 60 days, ip subnetting from zero to guru, 101Labs, 101Labs ip subnetting and portable command guide but can't study them. Thanks for the motivation, even though you work at three different places.
Personally I think Boson was better but the Cisco tests where awesome as well! I do not plan on going for my CCNP until I finish the cloud practitioner and security+, even then I might change my mind and get a different cert. We will have to see!
I'm in similar situation as a fulltime worker so just want to say that your video really motivates me. Since you went through both Jeremy's IT Lab and Odom's books, do you think it is fine to skip the books and just watch the Jeremy's videos?
@greeTech fwiw its really good to work that operations network type job for at least a yr or two, reason? because the day to day grind you learn a lot that isnt in these books like non-reporting problems or dealing with optical issues, prioritizing changes over projects, there just no replacing that kind of hands on experience, gltu!
Hey, that is so amazing and impressive!! Like having to work 3 jobs and also study... and here I don't even gain consistency or study hard enough having nothing else to do except staying at home :( And OMG, I'm literally studying with Jeremy's IT Lab, he's amazing, although I'm taking all the notes, because right now, that's my only material! But I'll try these books or Netsim, too!
Thank you! I have found that turning studying into a habit makes it easier to be consistent. Listen to Atomic Habits by James Clear for tips on building habits! (Specifically the chapter about just showing up)
Congrats I didn't pass on my first try. Where can I find those books? And I am watching Jermey's IT Lab as well. Did you read those book in their entirety?
Create a habit for studying! It helps remove the friction of picking up the material every day, I very highly recommend listening to Atomic Habits by James Clear for tips on how to do this!
I would highly recommend being familiar with implementing network ACLs, ospf and spanning tree. Ospf especially. In my experience, I had lots of ospf questions but I can not guarantee your experience will be the same. Good luck! Keep my posted on how it goes!
A diploma is not needed (I do not have one)! It is worth exploring alternatives before going to college. Out of the available degrees, computer science is a solid choice.
@0° Tech look I also agree. So what's boson then? I've used dumps to blend them in with my studies and they worked for me. I study my ass off believe me. Been doing it 5 months and my exam is scheduled for next month. They charge for them too. They aren't free.

Nice video, crazy to think you were working three jobs and still had energy to study. Great job!
Thank you! I am actually still working 3 jobs! I should make a vid of my updated schedule soon…
How many hours a week are you really working?
Between 60-80 hours per week (depending on car details and what I am scheduled at the restaurant I work at, then I have 40 from my main job in tech)

4-5 hours, I have 1-2 nights a week where I can catch up on sleep

Congratulations! Well done!

yes there are ospf sim labs.....need to be strong in labing OSPF
afternoon folks, has anyone recently done the CCNA 200-301 exam? re Types of questions, some said they removed simlet, some don't which one is true
They are likely removed going off my experience taking it on 3/25. Some say they are still there, I am not 100% sure

Hi, how did you practice for your labs? Did u buy boson as well?
I did the boson and Pearson labs a ton
Hi can u tell me the difference between NetSim and ExSim from Boson?
Network is the lab software and Exsim is the practice exams!
I'm doing my CCNA this month.
Good luck!!
Thanks did u take it yet?@@ZeroDegreeTech
HI, great video. Please, inform where can I get free practice exams for CCNA from Cisco. Thank you for providing a link.
I am not sure where free ones exist but I know Jermey’s IT lab has some great practice labs!
Was the Pearson CCNA network simulator helpful?
Yes! I thought it was very helpful. It really helped solidify the knowledge by forcing me to apply it!
Got any book recommaditions to read? Or websites to study?
Atomic habits is my good book in general recommendation and for the CCNA, Wendell Odoms vol1 and 2 of the CCNA exam guide where great!
Also what are the name of the practice exams
Did I forget to say the name in the vid?
How haven't I watched this video!?
It’s a very small channel 😆
Lol
Do you have any references for vlan training ?
professor messer is great for basics and Jeremy’s IT lab is great for a little more depth!
After 12th which diploma i have to do to get a good job
