@@TheMausymaus Not sure if it's the greatest car ever built, but it's a fun, basic, quirky car with loads of retro appeal. I would recommend it as the perfect intro to restoration. Parts are easily sourced.
Do they do the 140,240 series, since I saw 1 to be either a 140, or 240 in the rally, also I see the Amazon GT, are their any Amazon wagons, that would be awesome to see how they do in in the rally, especially snow conditions, cause it looks like they would do good, since they are probably more reinforced than other wagons, please clarify.
Hi! If you're wondering if they race Volvo 140 and Volvo 240, yes they are! If you watch any of my other "event" videos you will find atleast one Volvo 240. :) Sometimes also 140, but they are not very common.
@@SwedishRally other than the Amazons what other models, are used, I just like seeing the way those volvos, do in snow, & other terrains, are they kept mostly stock or do they have to put like some reinforcements, in case it flips over, the engine stays in it*s place.
@@SwedishRally It*s just that you don*t see many PV 454,544, or P1800, at one time you could see a lot of those cars, but now you rarely see them, The PV454,544, are really strong cars, well built, even before the Amazon became popular, the PV,series, you could see those cars, racing or rallying, I am not sure about the P-1800, then came the mighty Amazon, then the subsequent series.
Yep. My '66 has the "Canadian" badge too. Parts from Sweden but assembled in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I do have a Simons muffler but the low compression B18. I really want to put a B20 high compression engine in it.
What do they do with all race cars so they get this sound like this Volvo amazon cars have in this video? Vad gör dom med alla racer bilar så att dom får detta ljudet som dessa Volvo amazoner har i denna videon?
A girl I dated father had one of these 122 were they? we got to drive it a lot, it was like a second car. It was my first introduction to Volvo's. That one curve with the embankment @ 1:27 sure does roll a lot of cars
@@SwedishRally I am helping a good friend with his PV444 this winter. For the most part it is 100% in bits/ not assembled save for the gear box and differential. There isn't any paint on it so any rust will be delt with in a professional fashion. I'll be building the engine, there are two to choose from. 👍

It's the most beautiful car ever built.
It is sad to see many Volvos being crashed.
I had 9 of these in 35 years. Sold my last 3 in 2009 when I moved to nz. No greater car has ever been built.
As a potential owner, why do you say that?
@@TheMausymaus I spent less on 9 amazons and a 144 and 164 combined than what I spent or lost on any of the other 20 cars I owned in 40 years.

watching this video makes me proud to be the owner of a fully restored 1969 volvo amazon 122S.☺
These old Volvos are brilliant I love classic rallying thank you great video I watch one every evening ❤️😊👌🏻👍🏻
More Classics coming up!
The times when cars had faces and only the parts which were really needed.
Who on earth is giving you thumbs down for these? I love your videos!!! Especially the historic ones.
Someone has to be hating, otherwise it wouldn't be complete. :)
Nothing like a 122S. Look great, sound great, get the job done!
Man, I wish my Amazon had that exhaust note
Add some power
It*s impressive the way these machines come flying down.

The old ones? PV & P1800 are also being raced.

Hanging the tail out in my Amazon and doing a Scandinavian flick is my idea of automotive big fun!
I have a 1967 122S (badged a "Canadien ") with many of the 123GT upgrades. Would never drive it like that, however. I baby it!

How to make rare car's more rare
had mine since 1980 best car ever made most enjoyable to drive have n't driven it like these fellers but i know she goes well

Engine optimization for performance + (Straight-piped?) Sports exhaust i believe!
Dubbla weber-förgasare,agressivare kam, etc
Espesta?

Even the upcoming PV-video will have a video from that embankment at 1:27. :)

i like the kontent but not the konsekvenses of amazons getting crashed
These seem tricky to drive ngl
Loved the look of my Amazon, hated driving it. It did nothing for me at all.
curious what you didn't like driving it?
Then you drove it wrong.
@@ole-mariusbergesen7818 Nope, drove it right, it was just crap. Overrated crap.
