Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro is a comic opera riddled with intrigue, disguises and double entendres. An opera about love: from randy excitement to melancholic disillusionment.
In season 20/21, this opera was streamed online in a shortened and adapted version of the 2016 production. In their comic opera, Mozart and Da Ponte depict a broad range of ideas about love, fidelity and power. Listen to Conte d'Almaviva's aria Hai gia vinta la causa, sung by Stéphane Degout.
