I enjoy the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express card because it gives legit every single benefit of Silver Medallion status and a Diamond Medallion level choice benefit of Delta SkyClub access. Along with Centurion access when flying Delta. Yes $550 but the companion certificate. I used mine to get a friend and his gf a ticket from ORD to DFW both for right under $500. Yes I could simply keep the main Platinum alone, but as long as I can get value from the companion certificate I will keep both open. And leaves me ability to use Platinum card for another airline for incidental charges. 😂
@@RJFinancial that and the new 15% off award tickets discount are huge reasons to keep it. Got a 32,500 for 27,600. A 412 ticket. So 400/27600 means 1.449 CPP. Instead of 400/32500 without card being 1.23 CPP.
Many people tend to forget with Amex Platinum, you also get a Priority pass which gets you into many international lounges, plus you get the Centurion lounge access as well, so if you travel, Amex Platinum outweighs any card. You basically get three lounges and one being international. Always appreciate your videos and great content!
The Amex lounge in DFW that I went to was worse than every sky club I've been to. Small sample size of course Granted some of the new Amex lounges in NY airports could maybe hang.
RJ with an airport lounge video?! Is he coming to team travel?? 😆🤣 Jokes aside, I've heard good things about the Delta lounge but the only way I'll ever get in there is with a Platinum card when I get that down the line.
I have to say the Delta lounges I have been to tend to have the better quality food and drinks tend to be on point. I slightly like them better than the AMEX Centurion lounge.
That map is out of date. I live in Kansas City. The brand new terminal that opened at the end of February has a Delta Sky Club. Just an FYI Love the video RJ. Keep rocking sir!!
That makes sense. Somehow I taped this a long time ago and forgot I had it. I ended up doing it twice because the entry rules changed a week after I taped the first time... Anyway, thanks for the catch and I appreciate you stopping by
That's fair. The ones in DTW were alright. Nothing amazing but doable. I was in Miami and it was not awesome. No real food, super hot, no where to sit. on and on
Hello RJ. Me myself just use the platinum card card to get in . I’m usually flying by self but I would like to invite one guess . Only have had the chance to visit the centurion lounge in vagas in the Delta lounge in ATL . Oh yeah also in my town. ORD
Personally, I think Delta needs to look after their elite status members and their own Delta branded CC holders (ie, not vanilla AMEX platinum card holders). I think lounge access should only be offered for delta loyalists as United and American has for their club lounges. If I was in Delta's position, I would probably only allow lounge access for the following: - Delta 360 Members: Unlimited SkyClub access + expedited entry to lounge for all on the same itinerary - Delta Diamond Medallion Members: Unlimited SkyClub access, no guess access (unless paid $50 per person OR Unless bought SkyClub membership for discounted price) - Delta Platinum Medallion Members: Limited SkyClub access only when paying for Delta One or Comfort Plus (10 per calender year OR Unless bought SkyClub membership for discounted price), no guess - access (unless paid $50 per person) - Delta Gold Medallion Members: Limited SkyClub access only when paying for Delta One or Comfort Plus (2 per calender year OR Unless bought SkyClub membership for full price), no guess access (unless paid $50 per person) - Delta Silver Medallion Members: No SkyClub access (Unless bought SkyClub membership for full price) - Delta SkyMiles Member (No Status): No SkyClub access (Not even for sale) - Delta Reserve Card Members: Unlimited SkyClub access, no guess access (unless paid $50 per person) - Delta Platinum Card Members: Limited SkyClub access (10 per cardmember year), no guess access (unless paid $50 per person) - Delta Gold and Delta Blue Card Members: No lounge access - AMEX Platinum Card Members: Unlimited Centurion lounge access, Limited SkyClub access (10 per cardmember year), no guess access (unless paid $75 per person) I think this is a fair breakdown, let me know what yall think
I don't think it's unfair but because of money they can't put Amex out in the cold. I'm guessing it's a big part of their partnership. I'd counter with offering Platinum card holders a $200 yearly flight credit + 4 free passes per year to the lounge. I hear a lot of people say they only duck into the lounge to get food. Which translates to "I go because I can" not that I really want to. But at $700 AF, I'd have a hard time giving up or limiting any perk. Offering an option could be fair... it'll never happen but still

It's probably better than the plain Platinum for Delta flyers. Lot less silliness to deal with

Platinum is the king of lounge cards. I won't dispute that, even for a chase fanboy
Gots the Delta Gold and still no pass, but when you're short like me, you just run by real fast!
Hot take. Delta lounges are better than Centurion lounges

@@RJFinancialinteresting. Maybe now but when the DFw club opened it was night and day difference versus Sky Clubs or any other lounge domestically
One thing I love is that you will always find the lounge in the Delta terminal so you will be close to your gate.
The AMEX Platinum card 💎 . Never fly Delta without it 😎. Thanks for the info + video!!!
That is the one thing I liked about it when I had it. Shoulda had a guest pass at least, given the cost

Lol, I treat videos like Xbox games... completionism on the achievements and topics
@@RJFinancial That's fair!!

Delta is solid. Some of the revamped Amex lounges are crazy but aside from those I'd agree and go Delta

@@RJFinancial Thanks for the content RJ. Love your videos a lot!
MSP missing too 😆
RJ great video, you should do a centourion lounge video next possibly
It's old but should still hold up - ruclips.net/video/Q_LXWuk23WA/видео.html
Thanks for the info RJ! 👍
Did the reserve change? I always got 2 guest passes per year
You are correct, they still give you two passes per year. That's my drop
SkyClubs suck unless you are at a Delta hub. If not it's basically a Priority Pass lounge with the benefit of hitting the lounge when you land

a guest pass would be nice. It seems silly that they don't offer them but of course they want everyone to get their own card. Safe travels

My man
Team cash back doesn’t go to lounges.
We just sit on the terminal and count our money
In my experience Delta and United Lounges are better than Centurion and Priority Pass.
I'm pro Sky Club in most cases. I've only been to one that was not awesome in Miami... no real food

Still a winner in my eyes
