  • We are building our own house in Norway!
In 2018 we bought a plot in Oslo and we are now starting the construction of our house. Since we are both architects we have designed everything ourselves.

Marvelous video ! Very very interesting! We can see that the structure are strong! When I saw wooden houses in Norway and USA, I use to think they were weak , but they aren’t ! I loved that ! Congrats

Exciting! Starts to get real with the base, insulation, underfloor heating cabling and plumbing / electrical conduits in place.

The framing around the concrete is called "forskaling" in norwegian.

Raft slab with 3 layer rebar matt. Differential Settling must be a real issue at your location.

I think formwork is the word you were looking for. In Spanish is called "encofrado". Don't know the word in Portuguese.

Very cool. Do you have to have a license to build a house there ? Im in Canada and you have to have a special builders license to build your own house. My wife and I are thinking about moving to Norway and would want to take on a project like this, as its what we do in Canada.

We are licensed architects so we are allowed to design our home. Then we have a licensed builder that is taking care of the whole building and logistics project 😊 you can’t do it yourself if you are not licensed within the building/construction profession.

How exciting! Will your family in Portugal come and visit once your house is finished?
