- We are building our own house in Norway!
In 2018 we bought a plot in Oslo and we are now starting the construction of our house. Since we are both architects we have designed everything ourselves.

Glad you got a nicer view👍. 👋 🇺🇸
Marvelous video ! Very very interesting! We can see that the structure are strong! When I saw wooden houses in Norway and USA, I use to think they were weak , but they aren’t ! I loved that ! Congrats
Exciting! Starts to get real with the base, insulation, underfloor heating cabling and plumbing / electrical conduits in place.
This series is fascinating. Thank you.
It must be exciting to see your house being built since day 1!
Yes!!! So exiting! 😍
Congrats!!
Looking good Mon & Daniel I liked this video yes!!!!👍🎃
Super HAPPY for you both, it will be so Worth it. Good luck 👍
I can not wait for the next video on this.
Uau! Adorei ver! E fico também super satisfeita por terem uma boa solução para as águas de cheias!
Parabéns Mónica! Estou cheia de vontade de ver o produto final 😊😊
Obrigada! 😊
The framing around the concrete is called "forskaling" in norwegian.
And it is called a "form" in american english.
I came to the comments just to see if anyone was helping with the English. 😊
When I move to Norway I am going to look you up to design my house for me, mark my words!
Raft slab with 3 layer rebar matt. Differential Settling must be a real issue at your location.
I bet you are glad that task is over. I hope since you had to raise your foundation, that you get a nice view. What was the size of your foundation? I your house a two or three story home? Very nice video🤗🤗😊. 👋 🇺🇸
Yeah haha we got a higher view to the garden and forest 😊 the house is quite small. Is a two story plus loft 😊
I think formwork is the word you were looking for. In Spanish is called "encofrado". Don't know the word in Portuguese.
Cofragem 😊
Very cool. Do you have to have a license to build a house there ? Im in Canada and you have to have a special builders license to build your own house. My wife and I are thinking about moving to Norway and would want to take on a project like this, as its what we do in Canada.
We are licensed architects so we are allowed to design our home. Then we have a licensed builder that is taking care of the whole building and logistics project 😊 you can’t do it yourself if you are not licensed within the building/construction profession.
How exciting! Will your family in Portugal come and visit once your house is finished?
I hope so 😊
