  • The final hidden world in The End Is Nigh which needs 450 tumors (every single tumor from The Past) to get to. You also will have no lives if you don't play the collectible cartridge stages (which are very tough) for bonus tumors. Beating Nevermore nets you an additional cartridge and an alternate ending.
I think it's pretty normal to not understand much of the game's story or endings because with most of Edmund's games it has some hidden meaning that's very personal to Edmund McMillen which is based on something in his life. People theorize that The End Is Nigh is the story of someone (likely not Edmund) getting cancer, and you collecting tumors spreads it which makes alot of sense imo. Really solid platformer and great game over all, doubt I'll ever 100% it though because it's insanely tough and some of the cartridge stages are pretty much inhuman.
The End Is Nigh is a sprawling adventure platformer where the player takes control over Ash, one of few "things" that have "survived" the "end of the world".
Follow Ash as he flops his way through a future of pain and suffering. Feel his stress levels rise as you throw him into an endless swarm of decaying, mutant animal-like creatures and help aid his final epic quest... to simply make a friend (out of pieces of people he finds along his journey).
Oh, also you collect video game cartridges and tumors! if that does anything for ya.
    Features:
    - 600+ levels!
    - 12+ explorable chapters!
    - 20+ collectible and fully playable mini game cartridges! (each with their own tiny achievements!)
    - 80+ achievements that will make you feel good about yourself
    - 100s of collectible little squishy tumors!
    - loads of hidden extras and endings that you will probably see someone else find before you do!
    - and stress!

A year and a half ago I stubbed my toe so hard that it obliterated my nail. My new nail is basically normal, still a bit short maybe, but some remnants of the old, obliterated nail are still under the new one.

I believe I've heard Edmund say the story is about motivation, existential dread and stuff like that? You can just look it up I think.
    Ratman gets cancer.

I'm a bit dissappointed in game now. I'm looking at the same frame from my game right now as in the video right before 3:39 . The flying monsters are in the same place, I make the same jump but Mother is way faster in my game to grab me. I have no idea how to make her slower to reach that point on top left. It works like 1 time out of 15 (I had successful attempts with this jump but they are rare). I'm not even sure how I did it once or twice.
edit: I managed to change odds in my advantage (more than 50% for better scenario), but I'm still not sure how to control it always.
