Jim Davis actually made a big garfield comic where Garfield wakes up and Jon and Odie are gone, the house abandoned and for sale. Garfield realizes how much he loves them and goes insane from the loneliness. He makes up a fantasy where he returns to Jon and Odie. Pretty much the most depressing comic I've ever read. I don't know where to find it on the net tho
Josephdorf03 I'm probably 7 years too late but I think I found the comic you're talking about. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/43/55/1e/43551e537769562018cdafbb8d494341.jpg
It's called starving Garfield and it was a Halloween thing because Jim Davis wanted to make something legitimately scary for Halloween. Probably isn't canon, but it could be...
Jon's troubles should start to clear up once he accepts what happened to his wife and takes her remains out of the basement. The cat might even stop talking to him.
Poor Jon. Every which way he turns, Garfield is there to mock his pain. I don't know whether that makes me like him more or less, but considering that most cats do this, I guess I can just pass it up for normal. These videos are amazing.
John Arbuckle went on to die of autoerotic asphyxiation like James Carradine. Odie ran away, leaving Garfield alone. Garfield went insane over time, scavenging for food in the house but managing still to live to a ripe old age. They say his ghost still haunts the abandoned house where none reside for long, still hallucinating that John and Odie are with him , existing in a melancholic, repetitive dream. All of the comics since at least October 23, 1989 occur only in Garfield's addled mind. www.gocomics.com/garfield/1989/10/23
@Josephdorf03 Oh my god, that week of comics almost made me throw up. If you want to find it, I believe it is in the seventh fat cat three pack. I'm not entirely sure though. It's been a long time since I read about garfield.
Jon being so genuinely sad about this bums me out ngl. Like, the majority of the jokes I Garfield are "Jon is a loser", and seeing him actually break down like this makes me feel for him on a serious level. I have a feeling this is what the video was going for, addressing the constant berating that Jon receives and his clear mental anguish if you pay enough attention to the comics (Garfield minus Garfield paints this picture wonderfully, if you wanna know what I'm talking about I highly suggest you fo read some of that)
Garfield doesn't really MEAN it; it's just like 2 buddies taking harmless jabs at each other. I actually think the idea is that Jon gets laid all the time. But he never focuses on that; even when he screams "why won't women ever date me" it's just that momentary frustration we all feel before we score
0:54 Jon crying while the Garfield mask just stares at us knowingly with its unchanging face cracks me up.
mask?
tf you mean mask? That’s Garfield, the Lasagna Cat
Aww... you missed a perfect opportunity to end it with Jim Davis' picture leering through a window at poor Jon.
That would be the finale of "sex survey results" for you
"Come to daddy"
too bad that "sickos" kelly comic didn't exist yet at the time
Congrats, you just recreated half of all 90's music videos dude.
Literally just a slideshow
It's ironic that the 90s had the whiniest music ever, considering it was probably the most problem-free decade in all of American history.
@@dorpth Just trying to distance themselves from the cringey bright 80s lol.
used to watch this in my high school computer lab damn..
Adrianosphere I have good news
This video was appropriately recommended to me on International Women's Day.
And one year later, I've just discovered lasagna cat and am watching this episode on National Women's Day
International womens day 2019 here
@@PockyChoco23 Why do women get their own day?
@@edwardgaines6561 we have a 'my bucket has a hole in it' day so why not?
international women's day 2020 baby
The visceral emotion that Jon displays makes this tied with the "Making Toast" one as the best episode.
WAY DOW' YONDER ON DA CHATTAHOOCHEE
Actually a pretty sick burn
why aren't we funding this
Those videos are terribly under-watched.
we back
And very well-funded.
Drake Stephens Because of your profile picture.
Bro I see you everywhere

You know, the comic would probably work better without Garfield's comment at the end.
calvinjluther check out Garfield without Garfield
You mean garfieldminusgarfield.net/
a lot of garfield strips are like that
When you notice that you are Jon Arbuckle in real life...
Minus the good job and homeownership
An Applebee’s ad about take out played the same exact song before this video.
Jon really is one of the saddest characters ever created. Perhaps at some level we all realized this all a long and that's what made it funny.
Say what you want about the quality of Garfield’s jokes, but you can’t lie, that was pretty funny.
That was indeed funny
This channel is beautiful
Garfield comics are usually pretty shitty in terms of humour, but that's a mighty fine burn right there
jon gets friendzoned once again
i don't think he even gets that much
probably the only lasagna cat video to not reuse footage from the first segment
…until the 2017 reboot
Sick. Twisted. Brilliant. When this one feels like it hits you on a personal-level, that's when you know you're watching genius at work.
My wife left me for Melissa Etheridge because of this video.
Another mistake was made with this video. This one came out on September 23, 2046. Note the metallic, futuristic-looking phone and Jon's foil pants.
Then who was phone?
Garfield always has a sarcastic remark to say at the end of every one of these kinds of comic strips.
More humor in just one video than has been wrung out of the collected strips of Garfield since, well, ever.
Incredible visionary . . .
The best way to say “No Bitches?”
Bonus points on the rotary phone. ☎
The comic was made the day I was born. I feel proud
How are you so creative? You consistently make these hilarious...
Jon's troubles should start to clear up once he accepts what happened to his wife and takes her remains out of the basement.
The cat might even stop talking to him.
this one actually made me laugh
This video was apart of the adventure thingy about the codec check out RUclips spotlights channel to see what im talking about !
This is the most GarfieldWithoutGarfield video
This hits hard.
This video helped me to believe in true love again
check out 'garfield minus garfield.' almost as deep and depressing as lasagna cat.
Please, everyone! Hasn't Jon suffered enough?
Ur director of photography at the end is really, really good. Unironically really, really good.
It was supposed to be
This comic reminded me of 'lawyers guns and money',
now I have started drinking again, thanks lasagnacat.
@Josephdorf03 All of the comics made are posted on the garfield website. It's just a matter of finding the right date for the comic.
Poor Jon. Every which way he turns, Garfield is there to mock his pain. I don't know whether that makes me like him more or less, but considering that most cats do this, I guess I can just pass it up for normal.

You make my childhood weirder. You make Jim Davis creepy. I adore this shit.
Thank you.
this is fucking tasteful
A classic.

hOLY CRAP.
Something Garfield related made me laugh.
genius answer man!
Jon should make good use of some peanut butter, then tell Odie it's snack time.
I used to feel so bad for Jon but now Liz the vetrenarian's his girlfriend so now he's ok.
Wow, they actually had the guy act out his reaction to the last thing said. I haven't seen you guys do that before haha
Garfield has peaked
I feel you Jon

Mega-LOLZ to u good sir
Jon really has a rough time of it.

Same might be true for Jim

It's funny because Jon will forever be alone. (unless he finds out he's gay or something)
If my cat told me that I would be like HOLY SHIT A TALKING CAT
When you get roasted by ur own fucking cat
I watched ONE video about this guy
I've learned something, it better to have never loved at all. Am I lonely? Maybe. Am I happy? Definitely.
1 shot 1 hit
garfield hella owned jon just now
Whos watching in 2006

It may be very sad that these characters are manifestations of Davis' personal feelings.
Just an hypothesis....
@Josephdorf03 You just have to Google "Garfield Disturbing" and you can find a blog about them in the first link.
Oh man. Oh man
As far as burns go, that was pretty decent, actually.
My birthday, interesting
