I just wanted to tell you guys you're doing a great job, reporting on everything that has to do with SpaceX it's really awesome dude and Starship, I'm a native Floridian born and raised, and you guys are representing I really appreciate it keep up the good work
I have to say that it was cool to see you guys set up across from Gate 4 when I was there for my interview last Friday. Oddly enough, the employees didn't seem to know who NSF is, so I had to educate them. Now they know why I know so much about SpaceX, lol.
makes sense, they probably have dundreds of youtubewrs and kids coming to record, they cant possibly know therm all. or care i expect, half of them are real engeneers i doubt they watch youtube
Came here to say this, and I'll bet it's already being discussed internally, if only as a carrot to motivate folks to get tower 2 ready to accept another stack. I can imagine the tweet now: "Starship flight 6 ready for launch, pending regulatory approval of flight 5" That would be immediately retweeted by Musk: "SpaceX has built two full prototype starship stacks and brought a second launch tower online in the time it's taken the FAA to approve one launch."
There are 18 degree bends (why it can moved on a semi). and the inside is more structurally sound. That is either the legs or the legs. My money is in the on the the OLM ring. But anticipation is the best part of this whole engineering marvel. Thanks Jack, you rock! Me and the wife love, and support ya. And Grocery shopping sucks. -NOM
Hello Jake, I must thank you and the rest of the team at @NASASpaceflight for all the great work you do. As someone who follow your work every day from North Yorkshire in the UK, Its just so good to see.
My bet on the metal grates on the parking garage is for storage of equipment and vehicles during hurricanes. It's pretty common at places along the coast that have to operate 24/7 regardless of the weather.
i can not believe how much rybbish they got from the beach people should really clean up more and look after beachs and wildlife that are affected by this trash
Being so close to the border of mexico, I bet you could just buy a can of mercury spray and sprayed along the beach and get a big check from a third party
I'm guessing that there won't be a launch "table" for the second launch tower because the booster sits at least 60 feet off the ground. SpaceX has indicated that the third version of the starship and booster would be a total of 50 feet taller yet due to an FAA ruling the second tower can't be any taller than the first one therefore if the launch platform is only 10 feet high there's the fifty extra feet.
This probably has been mentioned somewhere but: swappable launch mounts could be made at different heights to accommodate different versions of the stack. Akin to the milk stool for Saturn I and V
Good news Jack. Both towers are very likely to be used in a "dual launch" to test ship to ship propellant transfer test. Unlikely it will be a simultaneous launch.
It would be awesome to see a retractable arm for the booster, like the one ship has. It would make a lot more sense if they are going to go with a mobile launch platform. I'm also surprised that they haven't done anything about how they load the FTS explosives, I would have thought that they would install them facing the launch tower and designed a working platform that moves into place , rather than removing the ship and lowering it all the way to the ground.
My guess for OLM B is that it's gonna be a flat platform with 2 "hangars" for SPMTs on the sides that can be used to lift it and drive it over the flame trench
So with a launch stack at Kennedy, and two at Boca Chica, you guys will have SO much more content to make! This might be a time to let you know I'm a British voice artist (also longtime follower of NSF), and I'm *extremely* affordable to record narrations at short notice! Well, I thought I'd ask..
Fixed mount makes the most sense, just imagine all the disconnents they would need to install for plumbing, hydrolics, power, data... way too complex, too many points of failure.
One more.. I think they are going to change the whole configuration (Booster and ship wise), and go with 32, (as they wait on the FAA). Meanwhile, look at B.O's "fly whenever," plan. They already have a go. X cant afford a bad ending on a landing attempt. It would take at least a year for them to bounce back in all aspects.
fixed mount seems likely to me. all the plumbing, data, and power connections violate the "no part is the best part" axiom. Also, extensive pad refreb is not rapid reusable. It may help with rapid launch cadence, through parallel processing. But SpaceX would still have all the cost of an extensive refreb.
stick the olm on train tracks in a loop then they could just move it back to the assembley buildings while they move a refurbished one back to the launch site to be launched
What if the second tower is just for catching ? You wouldn't need any of the fueling infrastructure. Well, maybe something to de fuel what's left. Wouldn't need massive hold down clamps of flame protection? Tower 2 is farther away from the tank farm and tower 1 in case of a mishap.
If SpaceX launched vertically (rather than slightly off axis) until the flame had cleared the tower, wouldn't that save lots of damage to the OLM and the tower?
With a mobile launch mount, they could also move the mount away immediately after a launch and before a booster recovery, further reducing wear and tear, and therefore required refurbishment. Even if it just rolled 50-100 yards, that could make a considerable difference.
My buddy is in the process of being hired down there to be an electrician for spacex! He was given a full tour of the area and now I have an excuse to go watch a launch. Spacex even has their own electrolyte water down at the base and I have a pic the metal water bottle
When you highlight a location with a location-specific section in your report, please indicate with red or blue arrows so that beginners can easily understand it, it's a humble request to you.
We'll do it once closer to launch, especially since by then we can probably also add all of the timeline differences and whatnot based on what SpaceX posts on their website
Also, if you guys need more "gator necks," let me know. I have a ton left after I left the Military. I'm sure Das would want one), along with combat boots. It will help in the marsh, and setting up recon. I don't want any money. Just want to help. - NOM
⚡ Use code NSF50 to get 50% OFF your first Factor box plus 20% off your next month at bit.ly/4dAu6TK ! ⚡
Is that what you live off at Starbase base camp?
Great that you accept some standard sponsors. You definitely deserve the money! I know you put it to good use!
Great as always ❤
I really wanted that to say "nsf merch" after the 50% off part 😢
wtf I didn't type this?
Yes, yes you did Celebrimbor

Great Starbase Update Jack! Thank you & NSF!
Good work on the beach cleanup!
By the time the FAA gets off its butt, there's gonna be 2 stacked and ready to go ships.

Jack is getting better and better in all these years! Love you guys! Thank you
A mega crab stand for the booster would be a very interesting idea

Awesome beach clean up turn out!
I totally would’ve been looking for TPS tiles or other vehicle parts

I totally agree with you, Jack: the booster and the ship are gorgeous!!!

9:06 Booster 11 Ghost of SpaceX past.
I think we could use it to scare other space craft
Use booster 11
I have to say, you have a future in commercials, that was the best ad I have watched a RUclipsr do 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Excited to hear more about the booster kerfuffle.
thank you much Jack
Speculation: Structural reinforcement resulting from the flex in the tower found during catch testing.
The tower needs to flex but maybe they thought it flexed a little too hard 💪
Very possible
I miss when I could watch these during lunch.
Just take another lunch! 😊
@@oljobo I think that’s called dinner. 😂
Well then watch them during dinner then
Same, I used to watch it with my science teacher

I love this sponsors food..University focussed guy here. It helps me study. I will succeed and run middle earth - S
Nice drone (?) shots of the salvage ship @ 10:08 😁
This probably has been mentioned somewhere but: swappable launch mounts could be made at different heights to accommodate different versions of the stack. Akin to the milk stool for Saturn I and V
So like they're ready ready now

Percusive maintenance- Jankom Pog 😂

I think, they need 2 OLMs at least to test the orbital tanking manoeuvres sooner than later.
My guess for OLM B is that it's gonna be a flat platform with 2 "hangars" for SPMTs on the sides that can be used to lift it and drive it over the flame trench
Great video, thanks, Jack!
Let’s goo, hoping flight 5 happens soon.
Jack and NSF, y'all rock! Peace

👍 Nice job Jack welllllll, except for that non transition into that ad... BOOM! who's hungry.
Excellent Job!!
Jack they're going to use the ground lines to pump the Flames out of them and store the Flames inside of some tanks😅
Fixed mount makes the most sense, just imagine all the disconnents they would need to install for plumbing, hydrolics, power, data... way too complex, too many points of failure.
It’s a gesture towards the FFA, that FullStack is!
Gorgeous ❤
I love the ms paint olm drawings, jack did these
Great job Jack 😊😊😊
“…when I’m running around here at Starbase shooting rockets all day”

@5:38 very clever :)
Hi Sweet Jack. Great work às always. Good luck ❤❤❤
Neat startup
The recovered booster will fly again!!!
Grating on the parking deck is probably for protection from wind (or rocket) driven debris.
One more.. I think they are going to change the whole configuration (Booster and ship wise), and go with 32, (as they wait on the FAA). Meanwhile, look at B.O's "fly whenever," plan. They already have a go.

3:31 "this cutie arm"
Nice updates
Hello from Oklahoma @NSF
Fantastic👌🏻 as usual
Awesome
I was worried, I missed my Monday update earlier
The stuff on the parking garage is fall protection so you can’t jump off or out of it
Given that normal parking garages don't have this, and SpaceX employees are grown adults, I doubt this
Cos adults aren't at alla affected by things that may make them want to end it all WasatchWind
Also it looks to be spaced far enough away from the structure to allow good airflow that you could still fall.
So, not only do we have to keep an eye on NOTAMS and NOTMARS, we now have NOTAFS to contend with?! (NOT Alex's Flight Schedule)
Fixed!
5:16 moar stringers. *moar stringers.* *MOAR STRINGERS*
So wait, if the launchpad is stage 0 and it can move away, does this make the tower, flametrench, etc stage -1?
Jack needs more bacon!
Wonder if they will send some of the engines to McGreggor....
Nice early to this video. Thank you for the updates. Great content! 🇺🇸💪
How many starships will be built and ready before the FAA stops kicking the can down the road?
Grain silos can be kicked down the road!
Woah, there's a channel I haven't watched in years. Fancy seeing you here! 👋
@@Spunkyy Always a pleasure bumping into our old viewers. You'll need to catch up on our skits. LOL

Insulation and sheeting to protect vehicles from heat and weather like the hurricane went through
I was thinking anti electronic interception grids. Like they wrap around server farm builds.

Tower 2 is farther away from the tank farm and tower 1 in case of a mishap.
I think it will be a mobile launcher but also booster will have a simplified startup system for the outer 20 Raptors that do not need dedicated QDCs.
The parking garage metal grading is for protection.
Mobile launch pad. Its another part, but one which adds substantially to operational cadence.
It’s not OLM parts it’s the bridge of the Enterprise!
If SpaceX launched vertically (rather than slightly off axis) until the flame had cleared the tower, wouldn't that save lots of damage to the OLM and the tower?
Parking garage will get cladding to match the factory
With a mobile launch mount, they could also move the mount away immediately after a launch and before a booster recovery, further reducing wear and tear, and therefore required refurbishment. Even if it just rolled 50-100 yards, that could make a considerable difference.
The Factor stuff looks pretty good...but I dont see oven bacon. 😊
Wow, the mobile launch mount idea is so great! Spacex has revolutionized everything! They should name it the MLP!
Cutie arm
My buddy is in the process of being hired down there to be an electrician for spacex! He was given a full tour of the area and now I have an excuse to go watch a launch. Spacex even has their own electrolyte water down at the base and I have a pic the metal water bottle
Finally got my excuse to use Factor, thanks NSF😂was either that or HelloFresh so I'll take it. Awesome update, thank you for all you do!
I am not being paid to say this, my honest opinion is that factor > hello fresh... and I love cooking!
I just want a mobile launch mount only because it would be really cool
Maybe they are going to put a spacex icon on the parking garage
When you highlight a location with a location-specific section in your report, please indicate with red or blue arrows so that beginners can easily understand it, it's a humble request to you.
They already forgot the ship's 29 heat shield overhaul
2 full stacks. Sometimes wish I could just be comatose till loading tower b
It ain’t fun
With all that flat roof and how you closed the video I would have thought it would be covered in solar panels?
Mobile launch stand, doubles up as a transport stand.
Best mount is no mount!
As musk always says, the best part is no part, Soo I think it's fixed, mobile launch mount is unnecessary complication... Maybe I'm wrong tho
Watch SpaceX stick those engines from B11 on S26.
and launch it to the moon
Is there a breakdown between the exact difference of Flight 4 and Flight 5 hardware? Or does this show up much closer to launchday?
We'll do it once closer to launch, especially since by then we can probably also add all of the timeline differences and whatnot based on what SpaceX posts on their website
This intro is giving
They should buid a Starbase in some country far from the FAA jurisdiction
Mobile mount could make sense...
How's that for brave opining?
Also, if you guys need more "gator necks," let me know. I have a ton left after I left the Military. I'm sure Das would want one), along with combat boots. It will help in the marsh, and setting up recon. I don't want any money. Just want to help.

I hope that they test fire b11' engines
How do you get the memberships that people donate ?
Elon is always thinking ahead, I say “Mobile Mount”.
