I think in the last video it was absolutely fine focusing on the video capabilities (lack of) on the rx100 vii, since most reviews focus on the photography. First and foremost, this was designed as a photography beast and videography as a second thought, while it does perform quite good, its nothing that a flagship smartphone cant do. The zoom on the camera is great which was the determining factor on choosing a camera for both photos and videos. The compactness should be why anyone should be getting a camera like this especially at the price point, where an average consumer would get 90% of the result for a fraction of the price especially with a mirrorless/dslr. Great review
I am currently testing the RX100 VII against an older mirrorless camera. It will be interesting to see how they compare. The mirorless is much cheaper of course, but won't fit in a pocket when poured with a lense.
Maybe one day somy will wake up and make a mark viii😅. They're starting to get popular again. They really had something special here. I still have and use the original rx100.
@@AmericanExpatDaily the model 3-5 had an nd filter but the catch was the lens was a shorter equivalent of 24-70mm. The model 6 and 7 had a longer lens of 24-200 with the catch being no nd filter. The model five was brought to life again with a faster processor in 2018 and used to be sold side by side with the model 6 and 7.
There is the Sony zv-1, which is very similar to the rx100 VII. Both have a one inch 20.1 megapixel lens, but the zv-1 is geared toward blogging rather than photography. The ZV-1 is also about half the price. There is also the Canon G5 X II that is very similar, but for a bit lower price. There are options out there, but the RX100 is probably going to outlast the canon, and it takes good photos. It's probably worth buying if you can find one.
You will need the imaging edge mobile app, which can be downloaded from the app store on both Google and Apple devices. The app will have s9me instructions for connecting to the camera. Once connected you will be able to download photos and video right to the phone.
Yes, there are actually quite a few tourist attractions around Salt Lake City. I think the big draw this time of year are the incredible ski resorts, but there's a lot of history and natural beauty as well.
Hey Expat from America, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, would you love to have a logo for your channel to have a brand image your audience can remember your contents from and also can be one of the merch print you can sell to your fans to buy and own and share the words about your channel too? Let me know if you interested and I would love to work with you to design these for you! :-)
@AmericanExpatDaily oh I see it now in your merch store, how about some special merch print artwork that's not your logo to have some fresh things to sell?
@NetvoTV I will keep it in mind. I need to look into sourcing my own stuff so I can get the price down first, but send me your a link to a portfolio and I'll keep you in mind for when the time comes.
As a pretender, I try to be as conspicuous as possible. The lens has to be as large and difficult to handle as possible so that I can be seen to be a "real" photographer. The compact size of the RX 100 series just doesn't do the job lol
@@AmericanExpatDaily Yes, there are 1000 and 1 phones who can make a picture. But no camera's can make a phonecall of has internetconnection. Maybey in future DJI does.
@Robterdammer the Xperia pro I has a one inch sensor very much like the RX100 VII, but it's a phone. It is essentially a camera that can make phone calls. DJI is doing some interesting work though.
And as a photographer I would rather have a 16 x 100 mm than a 24-200. Secretly taking pictures from a distance is for amateurs. Telephoto lenses are mainly worn as a penis extension by people who want to impress. With a wide angle you are in your subject, you have more depth of field (yes, blurred backgrounds are a trick to hide poor compositions). That is also a reason to use 1 inch instead of full-frame. The greater depth of field. I call that democratic image. The viewer can decide for himself what he is going to see in your image. With composition you force him what he sees first. Photos with blurred backgrounds are compelling and boring.
It's a bit hard f9r the camera to record itself, and I didn't think many people would enjoy the video being recorded via mirrors. That being said, I do have this video about the RX100 VII that has a lot of recording done with the little Sony if you'd like to see. ruclips.net/video/IuYOmVRVpdI/видео.html
favorite camera of all times
It has turned out to be a fantastic camera
Nice review, you covered all the bases!
Hope you found it helpful
I love the Thai country music at the end of this content.
So glad someone recognized it!

I really enjoyed the review. Happy Christmas from London, UK
Happy Christmas from the intermountain West of the United States, hope it was a good one for you.
I have the RX100 M7 and the M5a and use them for traveling and street as addition to my Z8 😊
I'd love to get a Z8

It's my understanding that earlier models of the RX100 had built in ND filters. I wish they would bring that back if they release a new model.

Glad you liked the video. It's a very capable camera for the size, and it was a lot of fun going in depth to see what it would produce.
Thx!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
Is it still worth buying this Camera in 2024? or is there a better alternative out that is compact as the rx100 and same Price range?

No low light images? Don’t want to see the noise on ISO 1600 and higher? How peculiar…. 😂
It can get a bit noisy. I did some in another video if you want to see ruclips.net/video/IuYOmVRVpdI/видео.html
If you pretend to be any kind of photographer, the price is right. Otherwise use your phone.

One big disadvantage. You can't make phone calls with the RX.
For a camera that can make phone calls I would recommend the Sony Xperia Pro I

Even at 200mm, the little Sony isn't going to look all that impressive in the hand.
