Few things I learnt from UPSC CSE 2023 -
1. Don't depend on elimination method.
2. Stay away from predictors like those who say this portion will definitely come in exam.
3. Do in-depth preparation.
4. UPSC is all about "awareness". You can study tons of content but if you're not aware about current events deeply, you will face hurdles.
5. Newspaper is important.
6. You can't ignore ancient and mediaeval history, especially Tamil, Vedic age, Buddhism and Jainism. All parts of history are important.
7. UPSC trend is dynamic, not static. Be prepared for worst case scenario.

Yes..But still some elimination is there and these type of options will give some edge like out of 3 statements if only two any correct if we keep only two it is correct if same with options we can have problem

Not really. Check marks first. You will not find major diff between your mock test marks and this ppr.
@Integrity just because some people ki andhi worked doesn't mean they studied hard or something, everybody read the same source probably, art and culture I did ncert and singhania can you really say you solve all the questions without Tukka ,or the sci ques what was source, or tye polity ques of homegaurd ,police Uniform. Me last year me hu age 22 deputy collector dera hu iam a sanitry inspector in health 😄 i have gov job already my plans just simple get a job then try a officer level❤️ job but iam not doing upsc upsc se other state me jaate, i prefer state pcs for me, i take my first job at my hometown and dont compromise family for long distance job 😊 i want❤️ to live my most of the time with my fam❤️ its advice for all try to get job near your hometown or parrent ko sathme❤️ rakho kabhi job ke liye parents ko akela na rakho😔🙏 life is short mere saatke kai family ke dur rehte jabki me❤️ family ko pas rahkta hamesha think about it 👍 then do any exam

@@palak_chup indeed it's correct. Plan B actually required. Don't waste time. If someone is already equipped with some MNC's give 4-6 hours daily. Work is done. High chances are there for clearing an exam.( No tension )

Thank's to UPSC that it showcased me its difficulty level, so that i will not suddenly get shock after looking at paper in next prelims, as of this year...❤
This was my first attempt I started preparing seriously from last 8 months and I’ve to say I lost the battle and brutally defeated. I’m scoring so less in both GS and csat. I solved past year GS and I was scoring at borderline of cutoff and in csat I was getting marks around 50 from only passage, I was sure atleast I will qualify but now i cannot sleep my all hard work is in vain and family won’t understand still they supported me. Staying at home and preparing for upsc is not the option right now it’s like wasting years and after this paper I lost hope. There are jobs in private sector but they aren’t worth to take it for how much they make you work and pay so less, state government jobs are getting less day by day and papers are getting leaked every now and then and even getting marks in interviews by paying so much money is somewhat I heard in state government jobs. Current situation is bad and now I see people leaving india and don’t even want to stay and compete this makes me think to reconsider my decision of staying here to serve my country. Idk how will I even clear a paper like this next year. It’s so hard to remember every minute details that there is so much chance that one of the options can go wrong. Anyways I had to pour it out as a comment.

It was my first attempt too..but it was such bad dream like paper..today m so much grateful to God that I have government job through GATE from last 5 years...u r right brother...u should think about plan b anyhow...lets hope for the best... don't worry..have faith in god
Life is all about hustle brother .You cannot skep of this.This year i have also appeared in but unfortunately i missed it by 10 marks things are not certain in this examination although somethings are depend on luck .dont know what future would be bt we must be strong mentally to face upcoming surprises .

It was my first attempt as well and I took a one year drop, I didn't even fill any college forms (masters) and now after this unpredictable exam I am really reconsidering to take one more drop!

Bhai lagta hai ulta bol rhe ho. Bcz self study se deep study nhi hoti bcz we are studying only one book but a teacher always teach after reading almost 15-20 books of that particular subject😂
Just to handle a one district IAS officer has to give the most toughest exam upsc but the entire country who handles and states like PM CM there is no qualification and exam is conducted for them an illiterate can became the PM of country and CM of any state .
Then what's the need for Secretary.... Our Constitution is made like that.... Cm or pm are head but are fools and constitution made bureaucrats and diplomats to guide them like secretary........ Fool will lead country but with brain of diplomats

They simply want you not to prepare for upsc as simple as that , it's the policy of govt to shift the workforce away from coachings and job preparation to workforce and contribute in real growth . Read some options of csat exam they have indirectly mentioned that private job is better and unemployment is there in India becoz students aim for better job prospects thus delay getting a job

Exactly anurag also they don't want candidates who are more than 25-26 years of age they want young candidates.
If it weren’t for the elimination of elimination method, I’d have easily scored 100+, only 1 option could help me correct atleast 15-20 questions, but I was bewildered during the exam so much,
As I had to be aware of all the 3,4 options to mark the correct option,
Now I am dwindling in 60s only because of marking more wrong answers,
But as soon as I came out of the exam hall, I knew what exactly needed to be done over course of next year!

But I am 29, I can’t afford to lose another year to this menace!
But I don’t wanna leave it either!

I am at group C post in my home town and preparing for department exam for group B, yesterday I gave my first attempt to get know how of level of UPSC attempted 59 in GS and 53 in CSAT let see what happen, but I am at stage ZERO for mains because my focus on my group B exam which is on 11th June.

@@sujit7292 of course they will. It is a luck based paper. Upsc people have no reverence for hard work whatsoever. They are just in a child's competition with coaching centres. Had they cared they would have tested knowledge .
Their question paper is a joke. One pair, two pair. Are you kidding me? If 1 and 2 are correct and I am thinking 3 and 4 ...it is still correct.
It is at the end of the just an exam. Paper setters must not equate it to going to moon or mars

This was my first attempt. I m pursuing BALLB from NLU delhi, and since our college is quite demanding, i didn't prepare much.
Just interested in geopolitics and history and basically any new developments.

Don't leave any important chapter, but read in between unimportant ones too. And those unimportant ones pertain to an in-depth knowledge of chapters. But it is true, at the same time , that there are certain things which are really not worth knowing. But still UPSC can ask such unimportant facts. So it is your own intelligence to choose the unimportant ones for study. In a nutshell, you are required to put in ever more efforts, dedication, and absolute utilisation of precious time. There is no other way. All the Best! ( ...Advice from a former Civil Servant).

Sir maine last year ki mistake se sikha aur mujhe iss baar feeling aa rahi thi ki upsc elimination method ko jarur change krega kyu ki signal last year ke paper mei dikh gaye the isliye maine prepare uske hisaab se jyada nahi kiya aur mujhe badi Khushi ho rahi hai ki mera paper achha gya jisme maine 48 questions attempt kiye aur mere 4 questions galat bhi gaye.. i wish iss baar ka cutoff bhi 2022 ke cutoff ki trah he ho to maybe mera pre ho jaana chahiye
