They really had to crush our hearts and make the moments that gave us butterflies suddenly feel so painful to recall 😭 You can really see the lingering feelings in their eyes and just how much their memories have shaped the person they are today. Nam Joohyuk himself got emotional filming this because of how emotional it was 🥺 Yi-jin who looked to Hee-do for hope at his lowest and Hee-do who didn’t want to lose someone who supported her when no one else did.
Agreed! I was so 😥 reading all the reviews and comments that it took me 4 days to finally watch ep 16. It was bitter sweet and I ♥️ how they end their relationship and said their goodbyes with love and support.
True.. After ep 16, this drama has turned to something tragedy for me... Can't bring my self to repeat any episode.. There is constant question that what is the point of this beautiful moments.?... They showed as if they were meant to be together, like soulmate.. But time didn't spare them? Also what is the reason? Beak yi jin career problems...? Just not done
They just stole my heart. I wish they ended up together, not even as a couple, but just friends that kept in touch with each other. Everything that they experienced together, and the pure love that they had for each other is just unforgettable.
Exactly... From the day 1 , I knew they didn't marry ..I just wish they might ended up like old buddies , but that didn't happen ...I cried whole heart during the last episode, and still suffering 😭😭
Same! Even Christmas-card type friends. They had a very unconventional relationship so I feel like unlike other former couples, they could have stayed in touch, even loosely. The sense of cut ties is what makes their ending sad :(
Omg not the flashbacks.... I cried a river during this scene...and I am not even exaggerating... I cried till my head hurts and eyes were swollen... Was this drama worth all my tears? A BIG YES!!!! This kdrama shows the best and so far the most realistic story of FIRST love

Honestly, episode 16 genuinely felt like I was living through a breakup. We loved these two characters together so much, we wanted them to be together so bad. We searched for clues and signs of them being together for 15 episodes because we wanted them to be together forever. Episode 16 hit us with the reality; sometimes not everything lasts. Sometimes we are too in love with the idea of two people being together that we fail to recognize the issues that would draw them apart in the future. These two characters will forever love each other, they shaped each other to become the people they are today, but they unfortunately did not last forever like we hoped. Sometimes that happens in real life. We can't always have we want, like Heedo said, but our memories will always stay the same.

This drama was very well written. Having your first crush and love during your early adulthood, friendships, pursuing your dream, being at peak of your professional and marriage. At the end of the day, this is what most us experience during our journey of life. Over time these memories fade away with our current busy lives. However, having an amazing past keeps you alive and into the future

Not that congratulations man😭😭😭😭..... the most heartbreaking thing I have ever experienced in my life is their break up... I have never attached to any drama like this before and never got that much hurt like this man... still not over them😭😭😭
I saw this drama while I was going through a breakup, so when the end came I absolutely saw my situation reflected in the end of the relationship of Hee Do and Yi Jin... It actually confort me, even though it's just a drama, I felt like it truly understand what I was going through. That's why I really like the end of this one, It feels real, with the lesson that we learn in the moment that we grow up.
This scene totally broke me Fr! The way hee do asked him how he was doing? And he just standing their staring at her with his soft eyes, with all the flashbacks and everything running through. It was hard to watch tbh. You can tell their still hurt inside. Ughhhhhh 😫😫😫😫😫
Given that Heedo is not the type at all to put up with a man who would belittle her, abuse her, ignore her, or make her not feel loved, I feel like I can safely say that he must be a good man. I understand maybe not showing him in the past even when she got married but I wish there was some way to incorporate the father at least with the story line with their daughter in the future. Some sort of indication of what Heedo's future family dynamic is like compared to her one in childhood.
Probably will stop watching kdrama for a while because the trauma i got from this show really affects my mental health. But will always love baekdo 🥺. Thank you NJH and KTR doing such beautiful characters.
This series is one of the best series I have ever watched. A nice coming-of-age story, realistic (to some degree), emotional, happy, cheerful series. Brilliant actresses and actors, well-written story and overall a phenomenal ensemble. This made me cry and smile at the same time, made me hope whenever I thought I couldn't anymore and made me realise that just because things might slowly disappear, it's how you remember and treasure the memories together that really makes a life worth living. Thank you twenty-five twenty-one for this series. I will forever cherish and remember you as one of the series that made my life a joyful, happy thing!!
I remember the moment I first watched this scene, it hurts so deeply that I couldn’t cry but I could feel my heart shattered. At the same time I’m thinking “Daebak!!!!” to the writer and director, they really know how to capture the audience’s heart thru this epic scene.
I wasn't upset at all when the last ep aired back in April because the song which the series was based on clearly indicated the (un)happy ending. There were many signs as well so I wasn't too disappointed. But now after 2 months, why I do I feel SO overwhelmed and keep thinking about so many "what ifs". I actually avoided watching any clips of 2521, never played any of the OSTs until today. And now I'm just too sad, I've been crying for the past few hours. It feels funny but I just miss everything about this series. Reminds me of some bittersweet memories from my own life as well. I hope Baek Yijin found his own rainbow. I hope Na Heedo still wears her heart on her sleeve. I hope Ji Seungwan finally found a purpose in life. I hope Ko Yurim is at peace. I hope Choi Hyun Wook still has the brightest smile.
Man that Synthwave track (Your Existence) is by far the most beautiful Korean OST soundtrack I've heard so far. Always sending me shivers down my spineeeeeeee
Ahh man this drama touched on something that most don't- the reality of relationships running their course. Really well done. The pain of breaking up with someone you love cause circumstances and timing aren't right, the fact that after the anger and resentment dissipates all you're left is fondness for them and wishing they get everything they want out of life. When we're at that age we think things will never change, as we get older we come to understand that one of the few constants in life is change.
She look so beautiful in this scene. I mean she was pretty the whole time but this was like another level of beautiful. Really did give off a maturity vibe.
I watched the final episode last night and I’m still crying 😭😭😭😭 I was in denial over the ending, but it aligns with the message of the show so made sense to me. Nothing lasts forever and no matter how hard you try, sometimes life doesn’t work out like you plan it to 😭😭😭 Thank you to the staff and actors - I went through so many tears and emotions. It is a drama I will always hold close to my heart.
Their love for each other just oozes out. Romance at its best and a heart wrenching break up at its worse. In spite of the tesrs shed for a great fiery love that fizzled out, I love this Twenty Five Twenty One. Now if I could watch Twenty Five and Beyond: Rekindled Love, I would be so happy.
This drama took me on an emotional joy ride that I was not expecting! I will never regret watching it. Even though the ending wasn't what we all wanted, I respect it and appreciate its attention to reality. Easily my favorite kdrama of all time 😁🥺😆🤗 ❤❤❤❤ 2521!!!
I feel like I just went to the breakup myself. Going to remember the feelings this show gave me every time their eyes lingered on one another. I hope we takeaway a story of youth and growth with this bittersweet ending ❤️
My heart ahhhhhh!!! This drama was sooo realistic and hart warming, everything about it was amazinggg the chemistry, the acting and the emotions!! This drama made me cry soo much and also warmed my heart soo much! I still can't get over it 😭Forever my favorite drama💖
Sooo many words, they have to say to each other but can't express their feelings.... though they can communicate without saying anything that's the power of their love...❤️❤️❤️❤️ I really wish they would have been end up together...
Just as Thirty-Nine was a heartbreaker, so was Twenty Five/Twenty One. In each series we had to say goodbye to what could have been and knew it ahead of time. And as we all know there are no good goodbyes and no fair farewells. That is just life.
I only saw this drama because Nam Joo Hyuk was in it and he impressed me in his previous drama Start-up and looks like my decision was right. Also I loved the performance of Kim Tae Ri as Na Hee Do. I totally believed that she was 18 year old. I was surprised to find out she is 4 years older than Nam Joo Hyuk in real life. She was great in The Handmaiden but here she stole the show. I am happy that Hee Do and Yi Jin didn't end up together as that will go against the core theme of the show. It was nice seeing that Ko Yu Rim and Moon Ji woong got together atleast.
Yeah, I don't know about Kim Tae Ri before.... So when I saw her in this drama I thought they cast someone in high school or someone whom pass high school not long ago... When I found out more about her... Her age is 32... That was a surprise.. So I watch mr sunshine while waiting for 2521 to finish
I have watched many kdrama but I feel like this is the first drama which clearly told me about the meaning of love, affection etc.... I really enjoyed this serial...when I recollect all the episodes I felt like they are happy together when they are not in love......when you also think about it you will get a feeling like they are not lovers even after they confessed it.... I don't know I am still getting the feeling that they had never been in love as couple....but they are in love as rainbow...
This series really broke my heart at the end 😭. You can really tell by their look at each other on live television, they still have feelings for each other.
This drama is a drama full of the meaning of love that can be learned..... Love is When two souls meet to complement each other's shortcomings.... Then, happiness will appear by itself. However, the most important lesson in love is the secret of the heart that is difficult to guess.... We will not be able to understand the heart because the heart cannot be heard and seen.... However, the heart can be understood if the words spoken are honest as in the heart... So, speak honestly from your heart if you don't want to get hurt in the end
Nam joo hyuk cried while filming this scene he was feeling the pain and longing yijin feel being biggest supporter of heedo but couldn't be with her at the moment she achieved her dream 😢
I finished the drama. Even it is not happy ending, the story is amazing. It is so true. There is different path in life and we have to give up things. First love is great, not everyone ends with their first love. I appreciate the screen writers, directors and everyone who made this drama. It is hard to find location and clothes to fit in the 90s 20s.
The direction was so good. The actors were so good! It felt just so real! Emotions that broke my heart, I’ve never felt something so strong watching a drama!
I break up with someone 5 days ago and I felt like I am drowning and dying. I am watching movies to make myself forget about it and I finished 2521 in one day. I am really glad to watch this drama because it solves the huge puzzle for me. I didn’t even shed a tear when watching this. This drama is more than love story. Teenagers transformed into adulthood with various life decisions and self-respect. It helps me move on from the issue and I really respect heedo’s decision for choosing both happiness. We had similarities like I was in yi jin’s position and I didn’t understand why my partner doesn’t want to be with me. Now I understand it.
i always ball my eyes out when watching this scene, it just hurts so much, tae-ri and joo-hyuk did an amazing job portraying the emotions, and the writers just crushed our hearts with such precious scenes, this drama is just the best, comfort show
I'm late to the party but I just finished watching this drama and wow, it's one of the best I've watched so far. Am I the only one who thinks that it couldn't have ended more beautifully than that? Yes, it was painful but isn't it better that they ended the relationship when they still love each other rather than staying and ending up hating/feeling disappointed and sorry towards each other for the rest of their lives (just like Hee do's relationship with her mother)? I think that was really good writing. :) Anyway overall, everyone from the cast, writers and production, did a really great job in this drama. Hats off!

This scene broke my heart, the flashback of all the beautiful memories yet so painful at the same time 💔
I will never forget this show.... The most beautiful show ever
The story happy and sad in one drama. BEST drama in 2022. Thanks 2521 🖤
This scene and the whole episode made me cry a lot 😭
This scene totally broke me Fr! The way hee do asked him how he was doing? And he just standing their staring at her with his soft eyes, with all the flashbacks and everything running through. It was hard to watch tbh. You can tell their still hurt inside. Ughhhhhh 😫😫😫😫😫
Imagine being married with a kid and looking at your ex-lover IN THIS WAY!!!!!! Heedo's husband must be so confused 😂
THEY REALLY DESERVED EACHOTHER 😭
true!!
that's why they didn't show the viewers whose the father lmao😂😂😭 he'd be so hurt if he sees this hahah
And the workshop named 2521😅
The father issss cutie pie🤣
Given that Heedo is not the type at all to put up with a man who would belittle her, abuse her, ignore her, or make her not feel loved, I feel like I can safely say that he must be a good man. I understand maybe not showing him in the past even when she got married but I wish there was some way to incorporate the father at least with the story line with their daughter in the future. Some sort of indication of what Heedo's future family dynamic is like compared to her one in childhood.
Their eyes cant lie, they told us everything
Probably will stop watching kdrama for a while because the trauma i got from this show really affects my mental health. But will always love baekdo 🥺. Thank you NJH and KTR doing such beautiful characters.
this kdrama really actually made me cry throughout. i miss them so muchhh
Best Drama of All Time. Certainly a masterpiece.
This series didn’t show first love it showed true love.
great drama, solid chemistry, and amazing casts. thanks joohyuk and taeri for choosing this masterpiece and working so hard to make it happen
Always sending me shivers down my spineeeeeeee
this drama is literally everything for us
please cast them again and give them Happy proper ending pleaseee
Ahh man this drama touched on something that most don't- the reality of relationships running their course. Really well done. The pain of breaking up with someone you love cause circumstances and timing aren't right, the fact that after the anger and resentment dissipates all you're left is fondness for them and wishing they get everything they want out of life. When we're at that age we think things will never change, as we get older we come to understand that one of the few constants in life is change.
My heartbeat raises as soon the music hits and their memories rewind
She look so beautiful in this scene. I mean she was pretty the whole time but this was like another level of beautiful. Really did give off a maturity vibe.
I still cry over this. Such a hauntingly beautiful story of young love.
I bawled my eyes a year ago and i still bawled today :(
Broke my heart , and the music was the fuel in the fire 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I watched the final episode last night and I’m still crying 😭😭😭😭
I was in denial over the ending, but it aligns with the message of the show so made sense to me. Nothing lasts forever and no matter how hard you try, sometimes life doesn’t work out like you plan it to 😭😭😭
Thank you to the staff and actors - I went through so many tears and emotions. It is a drama I will always hold close to my heart.
The ending hurt me more than any of my breakups did 💔💔
watching the ending hurt but i appreciate the series for showing the reality of such relationships. It's truly heartbreaking.
The Swoon no nos lastimes más con estos videos 💔🥺
The ending to this drama made me unleash one of the most heart-wrenching sobs. So well done!
this heartbreaking is not allowed. PERIOD.
Sooo many words, they have to say to each other but can't express their feelings.... though they can communicate without saying anything that's the power of their love...❤️❤️❤️❤️ I really wish they would have been end up together...
*This crushed my heart.*
Just as Thirty-Nine was a heartbreaker, so was Twenty Five/Twenty One. In each series we had to say goodbye to what could have been and knew it ahead of time. And as we all know there are no good goodbyes and no fair farewells. That is just life.
seeing this part again, the pain came back and makes me cry again and again. 💔😭
it’s been 2 weeks and i keep coming back. love how beautiful this drama is. this scene broke my heart in the most beautiful way.
I keep coming back to this and being sad
WHY DOES IT SEEM LIKE IT HURTS MORE NOW THAN WHEN IT ENDED ARGHHH
did you hear that.....the sound of me wailing in the distance
A first love that feels like the last 🥺
I have watched many kdrama but I feel like this is the first drama which clearly told me about the meaning of love, affection etc....
I was broken to...but now after couple of month i could tell you this drama is on another levele no matter how it ends. It"s gold.
The song in the backround really fits the bittersweet vibe of this and is really very beautiful
Now they are strangers.. with beautiful memories of the first love ❤💔
この2人が結ばれないと言うエンドロールが待っているからこそ 一つ一つのシーンが大切で胸にくる理由だと思う
i'd rather stay single than to have an 'almost' and 'at least we met'' kind of love
THIS SHOW BROKE ME 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Nam joo hyuk cried while filming this scene he was feeling the pain and longing yijin feel being biggest supporter of heedo but couldn't be with her at the moment she achieved her dream 😢
Today is the second anniversary of this wonderful and favorite series.
Best Lovable And Heartbreaking Kdtams ever ie The viewers Hearts were so Broken
Now I understand it.
i always ball my eyes out when watching this scene, it just hurts so much, tae-ri and joo-hyuk did an amazing job portraying the emotions, and the writers just crushed our hearts with such precious scenes, this drama is just the best, comfort show
This is the most bittersweet feeling any k-drama has ever given my heart.
*sigh* x 2521
Everything about this drama is perfect, from the cast, story, script, soundtrack, production and all.
Anyway overall, everyone from the cast, writers and production, did a really great job in this drama. Hats off!
This show really came on strong the last few episodes. I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it to everyone.
The best ending. The best story. The best characters. The best cast and the best drama for me. All's well that ends well indeed.
for me too..out of all dramas..this really became my all time favourite
Not all people who love each other.. stay together..
