    Good Morning Donnie
    This modular home looks like it was underwater ! The whole inside should be gutted and remodeled! I can’t believe someone lived in it like that! They must of had no choice to! Have a blessed day and see you next time! 😊

    If you didn't know, this was a Double Wide.
    You would almost think it was a stick built home.
    Many years ago, we visited a Manufactured Home Factory, They said the doors on the end was to allow for future expansion, mudroom and attached garage.

    I think its a 1997 My double I currently own has a side door and a front door cause my utility room is on the front side of the home. My ceilings are 100 % vaulted thru out the home. That's what really sold me on my home cause of the vaulted ceilings.

    Hey guys I like this one. It doesn’t look so bad that you can’t repair. It looks about 1993. My sister had a 5 bedroom like this one. Gut the kitchen and bathrooms fix any wood that’s bad I think the back door where you went in is where the washer and dryer are with the furnace. I ‘d see if you could move that water heater back there replace the plumbing. Underneath the carpet is the rotted padding it turns to dust. What is the difference between gas and electric stoves? In ours is LP gas.

    • @mybrotherdonnie
      @mybrotherdonnie  Месяц назад +2

      The problem with LP if you’re renting the house out, nobody wants to buy LP because everybody’s wishy-washy. Nobody knows how long they’re gonna stay.

    Good morning guy's love your videos and your comatary. I'm curious when you look at a long term investment and dollar for dollar. The trailer is going to get the dollar on the front side but the stock built new will be long term. I know the stick built will need work also. Lots of variables would like to see what things would look like in 10 years for example. Either way your money your time and life just appreciate the videos.
    Take no advice from me as I have a Mr do in my bedroom with a pinbot lol.

      It really all depends on your renter. I’ve had some out there for five years that I have not had to put nothing in. They look perfect just like the Day I left him and I have some that’s been out there for two years and tore all the hail in my area, a stick, build house and a mobile home bring about the same money for rent. Put the stick build house is 10 times as much.

    It's amazing how much damage and normal wear and tear happens. Some people are NASTY and mobile homes are very prone to and severely damaged by water. There are homes 30, 40, 50 years old in mint original condition because they were maintained. Most worn models can be stripped to the studs and rebuilt. Materials used are horrible. You can replace with house quality stuff when rebuilding. Even the FANCY new mobile homes have CRAP materials. Particle board or vinyl wrapped foam moldings around doors, windows, baseboards, at threshhold, even the door casings inside and exterior. You wouldn't notice it at the dealer. It's sad. So, crappy as this is, a rebuild would give you the potential to do it better than what they put in them new at the factory today. I love mobile homes...new or old. I would buy a cheap Tru doublewide like you toured recently. The fancy ones use just as cheap materials. You are paying for flash in the fancier ones...not better quantity materials or construction. The Cavco brand has economy singlewide and doublewide models. They have thick heavy frames, better studs, high flat ceilings, cheap paper wrapped wallboards...not vinyl wallboards most have used since 1995. They have cheap brown trim strips. You can upgrade to fiberglass tubs and showers and porcelain sinks in baths. Later, you can case doors, baseboards, windows, crown moldings with real quality stuff...you can remove and add screws to wallboards, mud and paint to get finished sheetrock. To me they are the best deal out there. Would love to see your impressions on them.

      @@mybrotherdonnie I spent a lot on my 83 Oakwood 14x56 box 2 bed 1 bath front kitchen. It was LOVE at first sight. It was all original paneling, wallboards, kitchen and bath. I knew the second I walked in that was IT! I didn't need to see anything else. I have seen probably 3000 mobile homes in my life....not including ones online. I knew this was for me. We didn't have any ceiling leaks, windows leaks or door leaks..at 36 years old. Water heater had leaked and they had overlaid floors throughout and put in laminate...cardboard style laminates. We painted outside, cool sealed the roof and gutters, overlaid walls with 3/8 sheetrock, and the ceiling too. Cabinets were pained, new plywood doors and hardware, trimmed out doors and windows and baseboards with quality Lowes stuff, all new pex water lines, water heater, faucets, shower head, toilet, light fixtures, ceiling fans, ceramic subway tile in kitchen and bay window. New heat pump, electrical boxes, new factory style windows and storm windows, and new exterior door units...with storm door front and back. All new underbelly insulation and bellyboard. The ONLY thing I regret is not taking out the laminate flooring, both subfloors, and putting in vinyl plank. I had 25k all in with the home at $2800, the move at $2000. The rest was set up costs...steps, skirting, plumbing and electrical connections, new heat pump, materials and labor. I ended up with a better than new 1983 that to this day is brand new condition. I would do it again. I just don't know if I could justify paying for fancy new when I could fancy up a Cavco or Tru with a remodel with quality Lowes materials. I would probably put a new style metal roof with overhang on it too...and maybe gutters too. I would add an aluminum porch cover over front and back decks made with that expensive composite plastic stuff. I would spend money to make plain better quality than buy fancy with cheap factory materials.
