Hi, LeEagle, What kind of issue they encountered, My client wants to use DocumentDB too, because it's cheaper than MongoDBAtlas, and I am investigating for him.
I would recommend either Atlas or EC2. The final decision between these two would depend on the type of service and expertise a team possesses. If there is an MongoDB expert available in the team, it can be EC2 also. Else Atlas provides the capabilities to have managed MongoDB over AWS. Hope, this helps. Please let me know your thoughts.

Will try to revert as soon as possible. One question: Are you looking for comparison of these for only MongoDB or any other DB. Because I can see that scalegrid provides options for hosting other DBs including RDBMS as well.

The product deployment and selection of plan will depend on a lot of factors like the expected workload (number of users, what time, how many requests per second/ per day etc. to name a few) on the DB.
