This week we are exploring one of the most visited castles in Scotland - Urquhart Castle. Situated on the banks of Loch Ness in the Great Glen between Fort William and Inverness, the castle was rebuilt and eventually destroyed between the 13th and 17th centuries.

Loved this video! I especially like the little diagrams showing whereabouts in the castle the picture was taken. And I loved the baby birds!

Thank you so much Patricia. I was so surprised to see the birds nesting there, as it was so busy with tourists. The adult birds were flying in over peoples' heads to feed them.

    Thanks for sharing
We have driven past Urquhart castle many times but as it's not dog friendly we are unable to go in, so this was great to see.
Thanks for all the info too
    Hope you are well

Thank you so much Noreen, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was amazed that those birds nested where they did, with so many people passing through!

One of my favourite Scottish castles, such an excellent fortress and it's surroundings really make this place iconic. Enjoyed listening to the history and watching your excellent filming, thank you again!
