Great explanation. We installed Öhlins road and track on some Turner camber plate and was confused why ride height was so low. Where can I get the spaced on the collar that u mentioned

Thank you for the kind words. I have another series, here is part 3 with explanation of the spacer ruclips.net/video/1yj2K9ZhvMA/видео.html. The spacer itself you can get from 3dm at this link 3dmmotorsport.com/products/bmw-m3-e46-ohlins-e46-front-strut-spacer-kit. Have fun!

Great video and explanation. I saw a video of Obsessed Garage where he adjusted his S2000 Ohins, with height and pre load being two different adjustments. When you adjust height, doesn't the shock "drop" into itself, leaving the spring pre load as it was, since it's moving as a unit "into" the body of the shock?

On S2000, the spring preload is done as a separate adjustment from ride height. On the M3 it is the same adjuster. The shock piston doesn't wouldn't move into itself on the S2000 if spring preload is left as is but ride height is adjusted. On the M3 the shock piston would move. Hope that clarifies it.

I have an E46. How much bump travel is good. I have 400lb front springs. At 13.5 ride height I have 1.64 inch before bumps stop engaged. 4.25 inch at full droop. Is 1.64 inch of bumps travel good. My bump stop is 1.77 inch.

You want to target around 60%-70% as bump travel, so work on your ride height/spring length/rate/preload.
