I also live near Tilst. What I did was buy a fast 750W e-bike for under 6000 Dkk. It gets me to the University in under 15 minutes and I don't pay any tax. Also it is true that it rains a lot. So what I did was buy some rain clothes. That seemed to fix it 😅.
@@EscapeTheMatrixRightNow great choice, if you don’t have to drive through half of Europe. Our use cases are a bit different :) but those scooters are great!
good video and explanation! I agree with you, rather than buying the cheapest one, just assume from the start that the higher the price you pay for the car, the less you have to pay for repairs afterwards (technically and if you're lucky) or just buy a car from a dealer; yes, you will be ripped off but most of them offer a one year guarantee on the motor and gearbox so that's a little bit of mental comfort at least.
Sir please make a video on buying a house in Denmark. Real estate related! I so want to see the neighborhood of Copenhagen, single detached houses, and what houses look like in London city and USA's cities. There are no videos regarding this on RUclips.
When we get to the point where we are buying a house, that will be covered for sure, but we will be somewhere in Jutland. If you are interested in the housing market in general and near Copenhagen, Mario Scian makes great videos. And if you want to see what the neighbourhood looks like, just check google maps street view.
Ma délután értünk haza a dániai kiruccanásunkból ami főleg Aarhus lecsekkolásából állt.

Electric cars pay a reduced new car tax, and also the half-yearly tax is calculated based on CO2 emissions, not fuel consumption. It is cheaper to operate, but to buy it is still very expensive. It is becoming more and more popular, but the majority of the cars are still petrol.
@@beyondcloudbase I am planning to move to Denmark from Portugal, and owning a car is essential for my family. Does it make any difference if someone can buy an electric car in Germany for a lower price and bring it to Denmark?
Unfortunately, the new car tax also has to be paid on the imported cars value in Denmark. Not what you bought it for, but what it is worth in the DK market. I had a car that I used to move from Hungary. In my case it would have quite expensive to import it to DK and have it on Danish plates. I decided to sell it in Hungary and buy a used one in Denmark. Any car on foreign plates can only be driven for 30 days. If you get caught after that, the police will confiscate the vehicle.
That might be the idea for my next video - basically you shouldn’t do it as you will be paying the “new car” tax on the assessed market value of the vehicle in the Danish market. I did the math for my previous vehicle, it was better to buy a car that already has danish plates. The numbers could play out differently in your case though. Search for similar cars in bilbasen.dk to get an idea of the market value, then calculate the taxes.

I was looking at a new used car in Denmark 2006 diesel Passat indestructible, the car costs 8000 kr, yearly green tax 12000 kr. That's just ridiculous i see so many good cars in as far as i can see okay condition in the eyes of an mot guy, end up at the scrapyard because the tax is simply too high to keep them running, not the fuel. Why because of the environment, so it's better that we waste good old cars that has already been produced, and produce new cars that are designed to not last so we need to buy a new car again sooner than if we kept the original car. And shame on you if you have an old car and want to actually make it better for the environment cat, dpf, maybe even a newer better engine. Heck even mounting better brakes to increase your safety NOOOOO tax tax tax tax it also needs approval which costs a fortune if it's even allowed, to improve your car not tune it to 1000hp. A buddy of mine lives near copenhagen and have an older tdi car without a dpf, without a dpf you can't drive around in low emission zones, and he wanted to do that. So he went through all of the proper channels in search of a way of approving a dpf on his car. Do you think they would approve that, nope but if he registers it as a veteran he can now drive in those zones. UHMMM lol i guess i needed to let out some steam :P
I am with you. 100%. Taxes are used to force people into buying new cars is a ridiculous way of consumerism. Denmark has no car industry, and also not much car culture. There are some people with old timers and the regulations are somewhat better for those, but the car has to be at least 25 years old. Truth be told, the older cars with unsustainable tax won’t end up in the scrapyard. They will more likely go to Hungary Poland Romania Bulgaria or some country like that, and will continue to run well for another 15 years. These are also the countries where mechanics still know how to maintain them. A buddy told me that there is no place in DK where they can machine a warped cylinder head if you have a blown head gasket issue. Very commonplace in HU, unknown in DK.
@@beyondcloudbase yeah the car culture is next to not existing and the few that dare to do a meetup will quickly be joined by the police ready to stop the party and write tickets or even impound the cars in some occasions.
