Fable and house of salt are excellent! There are so many amazing mermaid/siren books. I host a mermaid readathon every year at the end of june and have a HUGE TBR for it this year. Some of my faves : monstrous beauty, lost voices, mermaids daughter, the mermaids sister and mermaid moon!
I recently read the rokesby series (4 books) which is the back story of Bridgerton & the 3rd book in the series is what got me into the whole pirate/mermaid/sea vibe. It’s called „the other miss bridgerton“ by Julia Quinn & it’s basically about this young but adventurous lady being kidnapped by pirates. Of course it’s in the style of the Bridgerton books but the storyline is totally different & I looooved it🩷
Whatttt how have I never heard about this??? That’s so cool haha!! Thanks so much for the rec I’m adding that to my tbr!! I’ve wanted to read bridgerton but I genuinely don’t think it’ll be as good as the series lol 😅 so this is actually perfect!
This was super helpful! I'm editing a YA high seas fantasy book right now, so I'm always looking for more books in this genre! I added pretty much all your recommendations to a Goodreads shelf. 😄
@@brightsidegirl I knowwwww!!!😭😭 I really wanted to participate so bad but I’m on holiday at the end of June start of July and then participating in summerween so I wouldn’t be able to give your readathon justice!! 😭 I was thinking of maybe still doing the prompts but like reading for a week after summerween but I haven’t entirely worked it out yet! But I will 1000000% be watching all your vlogs haha I love your content so much!!
Aww you're so kind!! Well you can definitely make it as easy or as hard as you want. And there are some spooky mermaid book recommendations I have if you need some! But I'll have other readathons coming up towards the end of the year also!
To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo! It’s a dark retelling of the little mermaid! Also the bridge kingdom isn’t really mermay vibes, it’s more political.
Damn reallyyyyy!! I thought it had piratessss😭😭😭 I think hopefully I will like it regardless tho?😅 also yesss!! I’ve read that but ummmmm… I didn’t like it haha😅 I think I just had high hopes for it like it was a good book and lots of fun but had a weird ending haah!💓
Ahaha noooo I’m so sorry I didn’t like that book!!! I thought it was fun and entertaining to begin with but then the end was the weirdest and worst ending to a book ahhaa I really didn’t like it!! Butttt the story was entertaining so I think maybe if you like pirate/mermaid books you may enjoy it🥰
@@Siobhancaitlynbooks oh wait yeaaaa i kinda just wanted to see what u thought cuz i read it when i was like 13 and i was like this is the best book ever but the ending is so like chaotic and random
