I’m a real life trucker. I go through Utah all the time. One of my favorite states to drive through. As much as the game can be this is pretty spot on. It’s gorgeous.
I live in Salt Lake but what I love about Utah is how diverse it is, southern Utah is some of the most beautiful desert scenery and northern gives you the amazing rocky mountains, and the lakes are awesome! The Salt Lake used to be awesome before it shrunk.
I have family in Utah and went to BYU there, so I'm really enjoying this DLC. I had a mission companion from Hurricane, Utah. Surprisingly, the locals pronounce it Hur-ri-kin. I had another companion from Cedar City, Utah. (Pronounced just like the tree; nothing strange there! LOL!) Yeah, Utahns definitely accentuate the 'a' in Moab, Americanized 'aa' sound. I've been hiking there; it is beautiful. My aunt lives in Grand Junction, Colorado, so it is cool they included it on the sign. There are other towns I really wish I could drive through, like where family and friends live. Utahns often complain about the roadwork, as there always seems to be roadwork somewhere on the highways. Going from Provo to Salt Lake City, there is a spot where the mountain is cut for the road called 'Point of the Mountain.' It's tough to drive, especially during the icy roads in winter because the wind can get really strong there. I've seen cars and trucks in the ditches between the roads in the snow.
Your review of Utah expansion was fantastic an I totally agree with the compliment to SCS on how they make the scenery look so authentic. Keep up the good work Jeff and keep the sunny side up.
Real life trucker here Jeff, and the details of Utah is spot on, beautiful state to drive throughz and big thumbs up for running with a W900 all time favorite truck. I'm in T680 right now, but hopefully make my way up to W900. Awesome video as always Jeff, and great job on the blind side backing.
Utah is the most diverse ecosystem within one border anywhere. The only two it doesn’t have is ocean and rainforest. High desert, low desert, tundra, alpine forest, basin and range, everything you can imagine.
I love whenever theres a new DLC and that feeling you get when you pass the port of entry! Its a one of a kind feeling to ATS players haha Because you know you waited soo long for the DLCS
I've left Vegas and gone up the virginnriver canyon countless times in a truck. They did a nice job scaling it down and giving that essence. If anyone wants to see what it's really like to climb it in a truck, I have a video on my channel from the base up past the POE. They also did an excellent job recreating the drive up I70. Brings back memories for sure.
The only thing that dissapoints me is that moab is not a very big town at all. They could have easily put much more detail into this city and made it much closer to real life. The city is like 6-9
It is very accurate! I live in Utah, up in the northern part, and they captured the "feel"... the style of the off ramps with the xeriscaping, the thick sagebrush, the rocks, the soil... it's amazing! The drive along I-70 is spot on especially around Richfield and Salina. In fact, Salina canyon, the stretch of I-70 just after Salina going east towards Green River and Grand Junction, is one of my favorite sections of road to drive. It has gorgeous scenery and the road is well built/beautifully paved with big sweeping corners. Great video, Jeff! Thanks for sharing it! I am definitely getting this! Going to get back into ATS after quite a while off.
Used to live in Utah miss having mountains in my backyard. It accurate from what I remember it growing up. Can't wait to buy Utah DLC and salivating for Colorado next year 😛
Nick K is it definitely Colorado? I expected either Idaho or Colorado, but leaning towards Idaho first as it has borders with 4 existing States and squares off the current map nicely.
I love it. He was slowing down for road construction and I almost couldn't breathe. The ATS people got us pretty accurately. There's SO MUCH ROAD CONSTRUCTION in Utah
Thank you for the first look for Utah. Jeff, your videos are well done and enjoyable to watch. I actually only play with the outside view. Since I play, drive, with the keyboard and mouse, I find this easier. Anyway, you drive well. I respect your positive attitude for your channel and for this game, in particular. I am working on being more positive for myself. Thank you, again, for the video. Safe driving.
Im a real truck driver and I did a run about a week ago up to Kent, WA from San Antonio, TX and back, driving through 191 through Moab and up to Salt Lake is my favorite part of the route and that little section from I-70 to 191 into Moab is really accurate
Blowing the horn when backing is pretty unrealistic in the real world but what is realistic is taking your time and turning your 4 way flashers on. Great video, really nice setup!
22:51 Hey! I recognize that road where it goes in between the two hills of red rocks. I drive through it every time I go to colorado for vacation! (I live in Utah btw which is the main reason why I am watching this specific dlc with jeff :P)
I lived in Cedar City, which was above St George and Hurricane (pronounced huracan) it's fairly accurate with scenery. Coldest fricken place I've ever been holy crap. Running cattle in Enoch with a 12° high temp on horseback. Talk about character building. Loved this Jeff thank you !
I've driven the 15 north to MT like 3 times and I will say some of that looks soo spot on and reminds me a lot of those times. Job well done to the content creators
hey jeff im been watching your serie of ats and please do more and would you consider doing a mod free series if I gave you a little money for it I like how you drive and would like to see if u would also consider making a series
I'm a real trucker and my company terminal is in Utah and it's pretty accurate especially the port of entry. I wonder if they modeled devil's slide in Morgan Utah. That's a pretty cool area to drive thru with the mountains on one side and the train tracks on the other.
Well I'm a trucker with C.R. England and I run out of Utah and it looks kinda like Utah but could be a bit better but great to keep seeing you play American truck simulator. Still here watching.
and bye the way jeff thanks for giveing the pointers you gave me, i just about got all i need to start having fun on youtube,,,love ya bro and love the vids
hah they have Kanab. when we were kids, my parents used to have us stay in Kanab, Utah and visit all the national parks nearby. Zion, Bryce, Cedar Breaks, Grand Canyon, etc...
Jake Meredith you having laptop problems? I used to be like you with laptop problems and it sucked.. now I have a $600 refurbished acer off eBay and it runs good! just helping out!
I'm from Grand Junction Colorado, traveled I-70 to Moab (pronounced Mo-ab) and south to Arizona more times than I can count. Though I typically take the Cisco exit through the canyon along the Colorado River because it's less boring. Seems fairly accurate considering how much they shrink everything down for the game.
@18:18 you crossed Arizona going into Utah and then you get on 70 WEST towards Denver... that makes no sense. You would have to go EAST to go towards Denver. Considering Utah is west of Colorado... Am I the only one here...? Lol
Damn was not expecting this. Great to see an early preview of Utah which looks a lot more green than I was expecting. Thanks for sharing Jeff! Had me feeling OHHH NOOICE
Using an Almar SKRS MAN version myself. It's expensive but absolutely worth it. Extremely good quality and works like a charm. Think it's almost the same as yours even
The only thing that bothers me is even with the equipment Jeff has there's still lag in the game like at 15:48. I wish someone had a remedy for this without having to lower your settings which probably wouldn't help anyway. Nice review Jeff.
I love how in depth they went with the Virgin River Gorge, very well done on the developers' part! Also a Loves in St. George? That's interesting lol. I wonder if the developers got a partnership with them
Lol - Not trying to sound critical or harsh...hahahahah But I never heard in all my years 20 years over the road heard of honking your horn 3 times while backing up as it was your G.O.A.L (get out and look) to have situational awareness (must be a new thing within the last 10 years)... but was taught you always use your 4 ways while backing up. Not to mention anyone trained to work a dock or be around a rig know that you treat them all like they are going to move at any time and that if you don't see the driver in the mirrors then he can't see you. as far as gates in all the places I have delivered there is at least a driveway you can pull off the road... But for a game, it looks very neat and awesome! Defiantly will be watching more video and following this!
I’m a real life trucker. I go through Utah all the time. One of my favorite states to drive through. As much as the game can be this is pretty spot on. It’s gorgeous.

I’m not a trucker but I travel a lot do u drive by Amarillo TX
Though I'd say 24 degree (farenhight) Octobers suck! Cold fucking year... Such warm Summer's but the rest is cold... Pure cold damn utah
I wanna get in the business, what should be my first steps?
john wourden in the trucking business?
I live in Salt Lake but what I love about Utah is how diverse it is, southern Utah is some of the most beautiful desert scenery and northern gives you the amazing rocky mountains, and the lakes are awesome! The Salt Lake used to be awesome before it shrunk.
The devs put a lot of time into this. I can tell. It's so accurate that it scares me. And it really creates that "Utah feel". Love it.
17:24 don’t worry you don’t have to worry about that anymore, Utah’s state flower is a traffic cone I swear I-15 has been under construction for years
Real trucker here, Utah is a nice looking state to go through. and the devs of this game do an amazing job!, Nice blind side back Jeff !
I have family in Utah and went to BYU there, so I'm really enjoying this DLC. I had a mission companion from Hurricane, Utah. Surprisingly, the locals pronounce it Hur-ri-kin. Its Pronounced Mo-ab, I may be biased but Utah’s one pretty thang
Your rite
Yeah. The prettiest state tbh. Yeah I biased cause I live here but everybody is biased

Jad Pho I love living in Utah
Seeing the Mormon church before anything else in Utah is too accurate 😂😂😂
Dan Montague I totally understand I live in st George so l can totally relate!
Almost every block in Salt lake city has a church especially that one right smack in the middle of the city
65gmcfirstride I went to school at Dixie!
Yeah, in Sandy there's a church every 1/4 mile
@@rosettastoned425thats nothing, got 2 on the same block, just opposite corners...
I was just in Vegas a few weeks ago and did this same drive in real life.... the accuracy of the modeling in nevada and utah is SPOT ON
Thx for making these
I live in the Salt Lake valley, but ive seen most of the state and thats pretty accurate.
I used to live in Salt Lake City, Utah. St. George was well represented. I'm soooo stoked for this to come out.
Be prepared to get roasted for your Moab pronunciation.
Lol
Wont be worse than his Yak i mawhl roasting he got lol.
Its totally understandable why he would think Moab is pronounced that way.
Alan Grant definitely. Still made me chuckle though. “Pretty sure it’s pronounced Mohb.” 🤦♂️😊
No need to roast, educate an congratulate.
Utah is very diverse in scenery.
Had some beautiful IRL roadtrips there. Exciting !
I’m from Cedar City Utah. And that is a pretty amazing representation actually
Aw yes a fellow cedar city citizen
I'm from delta it's like 2 hours north
As am I!!!
I’m form West Jordan Utah
I’m from Cedar City too! No way
Hey Jeff I’m a trucker and that Utah is very accurate.. the detail in this game is unmatched.

24:13 that's usually how it goes when discovering new parts of the map in ATS, I do it all the time
My favorite game series on this channel

Yes with the console to fast travel there and get a garage
I love it. He was slowing down for road construction and I almost couldn't breathe. The ATS people got us pretty accurately. There's SO MUCH ROAD CONSTRUCTION in Utah

Does that mean there is always road constructions in Utah?
Sebastian Peralta too much

Best of luck with CR England. I hear Every New Graduate Leaves After Ninety Days
Well I ain’t a trucker but I’ve lived in Utah my whole life and it is more detailed and realistic than I ever expected tbh.
Been driving truck for 15years Wow gotta say pretty damn accurate with the scenery! 👍
This is spot on I drive for a company out of Salt Lake City, Utah and love seeing the mountains in the winter with the snow and in the summer
They should have a challenge where it snows in SLC and everyone starts going 20mph with their hazards on 😂
Man ain’t that the truth
About 4 years ago, I took a week long vacation visiting the Big/Mighty 5. One of my favorite trips, BTW. It's pronounced "Moe Ab".
