This was really cool to see cEDH mentality applied to an EDH game. There were still deals and stuff that felt casual, but people actually swung to attack and used their life as a resource.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG I know I'm late but also mike playing a miracle cost off a card he didn't draw at the start of the turn (marneus Calgar trigger at 6:40 )
@@justblay2125 He can cast something for its miracle cost if it's the first card he drew. That was the first card he drew that turn. It doesn't have to be your turn.
I'm personally not one to enjoy watching non-cEDH gameplay, but it is interesting on occasion to see how cEDH players approach decks that aren't optimized. As long as the production of these videos doesn't hinder the rest of your series, I think it's worth bridging the gap between cEDH and non-cEDH with videos like this. Fun stuff (:
It's pretty easy to misread szarekh to read artifact, creature, or vehicle instead of artifact creature or vehicle, so I don't blame Dan for making the mistake, but this is why you always read the card more than once.
I very much enjoyed seeing all these precons go absolutely nuts. My favorite part is that if one isn't know any better..you'd assume these are high powered decks from their gameplay. Also Dan had the biggest damn flying creature Ive ever seen in a game of magic..and did NOT SWING IT!! Sadness
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG Absolutely! With the last few years of precons. You really are set to play a serious game. The decks only get better as you do. The reason why I love precons so much.
I'd watch more. I've been playing some of these very precons against my friends who build decks, just for fun. I lose more now, but it's kinda chill and relaxing.
This was awesome, really really like this idea for a series. Please do more. Seeing the CEDH/high level play with precons was so much fun, would love to see it translate to my play group. Please do more, thank you for the great video.
Ooh, yes, playing with precons does highlight all sorts of fun stuff with cards you barely played with! I think The Flesh Is Weak had some pretty big mistakes in its design, because of a pretty big interaction that some players might miss, and kind of an anti-synergy with its own deck. Its static ability that gives all nonartifact creatures -1/-1 always applies as soon as it hits the battlefield, before its ETB trigger resolves. So unless you have something else that pumps your creatures, this will kill your own X/1 creatures before they get the counter.
I really liked it! A different perspective from the typical PWP matches, but amazing nonetheless. I'd suggest making some matches with the alternate commanders, depending on likes, and to continue it!
I enjoyed it a lot and would like to see more. The CEDH metagame can be pretty stagnant, and as exciting as it can be to play with the most powerful cards in the format, the games can often be pretty samey. Also, the most powerful decks can so consistently outperform anything that isn't fully optimized that if people don't come to the table prepared they almost don't get to play the game at all.
As complex and interesting cEDH is, it’s refreshing to see precons battling it out in a fairly balanced game. It really came down to the wire and added a layer of tension that can’t be found with “so and so casts Demonic Consultation, fails to find, casts Thoracle and wins the game.”
I love this idea! This is something anyone could do, and for that reason makes it a little more enjoyable to watch, than people using $1000+ decks duke it out all the time.
Great Game! Would Like to see playing with precons under planechase! Thats one Style i personaly like very much! It give some unexpected Situations and push s new hights.
Upvoting this video for showing that precons can be played "optimally" and is a great way to introduce new or intermediate players to edh or cedh using precons
Great video! I noticed that scourge of the throne attacked 3 times at T4 but it was an illegal move because it triggers only on the first combat phase, do you agree?
a cEDH mentality can help build better EDH games (even casual ones), and having long games in a 15min length format is quite good. Someone play with Gimbal next!!!
9:14 When The Flesh Is Weak enters the battlefield, shouldn't all of Mike's 1/1 soldier tokens die before the trigger to put +1/+1 counters on them resolves, during which time they don't yet have counters on them and are still nonartifact creatures, reduced to 0/0 by The Flesh Is Weak's static -1/-1 to nonartifact creatures?
Did you actually say "The table laments there is no Dockside Extortionist to punish the situation"? Dockside is not a punishing card. It's a broken card lol. Punishing the situation would be Null Rod or artifact boardwipe :D
Why can't my casual games play out this fast I hate when I get in a game with random people and then it's like a 2 hr game. 2 people arent doing anything, people keep board wiping, It's not even fun at that point
How long was this game before editing? Seeing the edited footage often makes it hard to grasp just how long games like this can go. Additionally, i am VERY down to see more casual games (however you go about it, whether it be precons or just lower powered optimized lists or whatever else you come up with) on the channel. I dont mind seeing thor dse rhystic and mystic every game, but does start to get a little tiresome after a while.
Definitely in agreement with everyone else here that watching cEDH people play with precons is fun to watch would definitely watch more
This was really cool to see cEDH mentality applied to an EDH game. There were still deals and stuff that felt casual, but people actually swung to attack and used their life as a resource.
that how every edh game should be played instead of purposely throwing games just to prolong it
I'm glad that my legacy of cheating lives on regardless of what channel I'm on!
Thanks again for having me, fun game!
In fairness to you, that line break after artifact can play tricks on one's brain.
And we will continue to have your cheatin self on here any time!

I love this kind of gameplay, with precons right out of the box, and how players get out of their comfort zone as they adapt to them.
It's pretty easy to misread szarekh to read artifact, creature, or vehicle instead of artifact creature or vehicle, so I don't blame Dan for making the mistake, but this is why you always read the card more than once.
It really doesn't help that there's a line break between "artifact" and "creature", either
man, that milling of anger n putting a 6 beater with extra combat was so huge.
This was delightful. Thanks for sharing this in your format with high speed, pointing out mistakes, and FX. Big fan.
Love this! Would especially like to see older precons as well.
Great idea!
"Are you tired of seeing Mystic Remora etc...."
Me: Thats... why I'm here
Very fun game to watch, thanks for throwing something different on the channel.
Glad you enjoy it!
Illuminator shouldn’t have been able to be grabbed by the orc’s ability because it’s legendary.
Great game! Definitely keen to see more.
I definitely enjoyed this video. I would love to see more videos of precons in the future stretching from past and most recent powerful precons
I am looking forward to this series in the future. I hope it becomes at least a weekly segment
Especially since there are so many more Pre-Con decks coming out been there used to be. I think you could get away with trying a new deck every week
This was amazing! Would love to see more!
Really like the variety in content, hoping for more
Would love to see more of this! As well as more high power non-Cedh gameplay and maybe upgraded precons as well? Keep up the good content!
Will do!
Fun game- so many cards that I had no idea what they did..
I enjoyed it shows the more casual side of edh while still going quite fast and doing big things
Loved it and would love to see the team take older precons (as in set vs set) out for a spin as well.
We are looking into it!
hoping to see oloro at some point… my first precon that got me into edh and the cedh!

Refreshing change of pace every once in a while
I liked that the precons were not from the same set. Interesting to see.
Technically, 2 of these decks came from the same "set"
I love watching these strong players play with some lower power decks. Would love to see this more!
Precons are pretty fun, you guys should try playing more competitive pauper edh. It's super cheap and really competitive.
We had a lot of fun in the past with it! We will do it again in the future!
Agreed cPDH is a very entertaining format

No no good sir. Those X/1s just had to weak of flesh to survive the process
i quite enjoyed this. it adds some nice variety.
this was definitely a fun watch!!!
More precon videos! That cEDH mindset while playing was *juicy*
i dont want to see this replace the regular games but i do like seeing these ran by cedh player skill and with mindset
I enjoyed it. The precons vids should continue. Keep it fresh homies.❤
more precon battles please. it's a learning experience seeing the cedh mindset applied to lower power decks
I love the two warhammer decks on display here. I own both and have upgraded them substantially, they’re incredibly fun to play

Noted!
That exterminatus play is exactly Imperium of man philosophy. 99% causality is still a Victory!
I freaking loved this! That game looked SO fun!
PwP playing with precons?! That is something my monkey brain never thought it needed... now it wants more!
Great content, would love to see more

That's a great idea!
Wait, three people are playing artifact decks, lmao. Super glad there was no dockside this game
Me encanta ver cómo ser desenvuelven los comanders preconstruidos en una partida. ¡Más videos de este tipo!

grishnak says gain control of target nonlegendary so he couldnt target illuminor, comes up a lot of time in lotr limited with ring bearers
Cool stuff. Glad that Dan didn't win with all those illegal targets lol.
OH well. Not the first time someone made a mistake playing magic!
I think a cPDH game would be pretty fun
I usually skip over gameplay with precons because (yawn). I see a PwP video and I click. I’ll give it a shot.
Precon so fun!
Wild game!

Commander Masters Precon next time would be great to see
I liked this gameplay, it was fun
At last one really fun game
I want to see the halfling abzan precon played competitively to show people that food tokens is a viable way to semi control the pod
Love it
Illicit Sol Ring is a good name for a Magic themed band
Grishnakh is not supposed to be able to steal legendary creatures, so that might have changed some things
Awesome game.
I'd love to see these precons heavily upgraded though.
Like $300+?
Good idea!
@PlayingWithPowerMTG 🙂🙂 Much appreciated. Personally, I'm a Sauron fan & gave him a massive upgrade when I got him.😂😂

5:20 Grishnakh shouldn't be able to take Szeras because it's a legendary creature, right?
Correct. Magic is hard :)
9:16 Ah yes The Flesh is Weak against 2 artifact creature decks
Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar. It's really not that hard.
First edh game!?!?!?!?
You guys gotta bring one of the original Commander precons to the precon table for a game. Would be cool to see if the original precons can keep up.
Great idea!
Very good game

Yeah this rules
Reading the card explains the card... assuming the reader has the ability to understand or pay attention to what they're reading. 🙃
Damn. I was hoping to see precon commanders but cedh'd
Not uet about tp leave. Had to go to the bathrpom
I enjoy this series. cEDH can get too complicated to follow. Me want stupid game.
You can’t gain control of legendary creatures with Grishnakh lol
Can Triumph of Saint Katherine be cast during the opponents turn??? 6:45
Via its Miracle cost, yes
Yep, but only for it's miracle cost. It ignores timing restrictions when casting for it's miracle cost.
The flesh is weak kills all his soldiers since the static is there first
