Larry here, my question of the day is, studying your wonderful lectures and listing to every word, something you said about ac machines not having to deal with reversal of torque like a dc machine, So is this part of the genius behind Tesla's idea of the ac machine... that is by having a rotating magnetic field in the stator, the rotating magnetic in the rotor (chasing the stator around as you have explained) because they both rotate ( unlike the stator in a dc machine ) there is thus no torque revesal problem and no need for commutator... I sure hope I'm seeing this correctly... which if so I could not have done so without your wonderful explainations... please let me know
Sir.. Practically sync gen operated in over exited or under exited at power plants or exitation is fully dependant on load it means gen is automatically change to over exited to under exited and viceversa What is correct ans
Excitation is only dependent on the field current, only when operating at power factors lower than the rated power factors, the field winding current changes to the level of damaging the winding. Please go though my parallel operation and rating lectures..
