It isn’t his voice. If you listen to him speak, it hasn’t changed all that much since like 2003-2004. It’s the delivery and the fact that he basically had to relearn everything at like 37. And then he wanted to recapture the aggression so he just started shouting a lot on recovery. MMLP2 was a major improvement but then he started doing that fast shit after Rap God and overusing that. Looks like he’s dialing that back and returning to the basics now.

The production is pretty bad and the flow feels a little off at times, that high pitched voice is probably the worst part of the song though. But this is just a leak and not a song that was meant to be put out, so it isn’t that bad. It really was meant to just be a practice exercise. Eminem got back to his style pretty quick after this, though. Arguably even better than when he was on drugs.
