This poem remains a favourite of mine until today--I was chosen to recite this wonderful composition in 4th grade in school in India at the school's annual day and I won a prize although I was trembling with fear about being laughed at.
The first time I've ever even heard of this poem from the Batman: The Animated Series episode entitled "Tyger, Tyger". At the end, the cultured and well-educated Batman recited the first four lines in a monologue. I would have loved to hear the Julliard-trained Shakespearean Kevin Conroy do a dramatic reading of this poem in the same Batman voice he used in that episode. Sadly, due to his passing, that will not happen now
It is a poem about The Son of God who is destined to bring in the Golden age to mankind admist chaos and social change, no evil can stand against this Tiger or his kin the Lion
Wrong. It's a poem questioning why God made predators and thus evil. For a predator acts based on his instinctive impulses given to him by God; just like one's need to kill and eat another living organism, (plant or animal) based on the phenomenon of hunger created by God.
i bet everyone is here because of online school lol
