I honestly bet that Charles wouldnt be so unpopular and disliked and same with Camilla if they let him marry her in the first place instead of forcing him to marry Diana.
I think so too. It’s sad that they were pushed into the marriage. I hate Diana suffered so much. I do love William and Catherine and don’t think Charles and Camilla’s kids would have had the real world experience and connection to average people that Diana facilitated.
while there is a lot made of the drama of Diana's sons walking behind her funeral procession - honestly loosing a parent in an accident is sudden and traumatic no matter what decisions are made. I think they'd likely be regretting it now if they hadn't walked. Some things, you can't win either way. It's just going to be hard.
My understanding is that Harry wanted to walk in the procession but William did not. Prince Phillip encouraged him to so his brother could and so he wouldn't regret it later and he walked with him in support. Not sure why Lindsay made it sound like Phillip bullied two grieving kids.
Yeah I agree I don’t know why the video makes it seem like something it wasn’t. From my understanding of what happened, it was more so Philip asking his grandsons if they would feel better about doing it if he were to walk with them. That’s why he’s walking behind Diana’s casket, I’m pretty sure he originally wasn’t going to be a part of the procession. Plus, thinking about how he’d been separated from both his parents then having his favorite sister die when he was very young probably meant Philip had a lot of empathy for what his grandsons were going through and had the hindsight to know they’d more than likely regret not doing it, so he wanted to be there right beside them in the moment as added support and to encourage them to not let the grief they were experiencing in that moment lead to regret later on in life.
unfortunately, people often get a better story out of villainizing philip. note how she didn’t talk about all the good that he contributed, much like she did albert, but instead talked about rumours that have very little to no ground at all. philip continued writing diana even after her divorce and she, very affectionately, called him papa or dearest papa. he was always loving towards his children and grandchildren, even if it was in a slightly stilted way. look at anne’s upbringing, for example.
@@ChemGirlLiberal Yes, quite a few sources have said that when William asked Prince Phillip what he should do, he said that he would support William in whatever he wanted, and would not allow anyone to try to force him one way or the other, but if it was him personally, he'd regret not doing it. We must remember that a Phillip of almost the same age chose to walk behind his sister's coffin despite being surrounded by Nazis, so he knew what he was about. It's interesting though that, nowadays, Harry says he regrets it. He admits he wanted to do it, but says he wishes at 12 that someone had talked him out of it, that he had no idea how traumatic it would be for him until it was too late.

Well, that can mean a lot of things, not just sex. Victoria wrote a similar note in her diary (about being unable to sleep much) the night before her arrival at Versailles during her historic 1855 state visit to France. She'd heard about the legendary palace all her life and was about to see it herself. She and Albert were the first British royal couple to ever set foot in it.
Prince Albert seemed like a rarity among the royals - loyal husband and loving father, managing the palace and able to secure the Royal Family's finance, giving his children equal tutelage and practical skills. Huh, no wonder Victoria truly loved him and got so depressed after his death.
Albert did NOT introduce the Christmas tree: he and Victoria may have popularized it, but the first Christmas trees in Britain were displayed by Queen Charlotte at her grand Christmas reception every year.
I am always mesmerized with the beauty of Queen Alexandra and always fascinated by her noble conduct towards her husband's infidelity. Being able to put up with that and still being graceful earned her respect and honor as a Queen, I believe.

Albert is one of the BEST consorts istg, if I cant have anime boys , I'm finding a man like him
not even 24 hours passes and Prince Phillip is dead...RIP
Wallis nicknamed The Queen Mother as "The Fat Scottish Cook" but she was so cute!!
Wallace also called the Queen mother "the horror of Glamis" after the disabled children, the Bows-Lion family supposedly kept locked in their castles attic.
To think I watched this earlier only a few hours later we would lose our longest serving consort.. RIP prince Phillip
Just finished this series and read the news about the Princes’ death this morning. RIP Prince Philip thank you for your long service and your dedication to the queen may she reign longer!!!
Prince Phillip will never reach the same age as the Queen mother did as he died today aged 99
My all time favorite royal couple is Victoria and Albert 💞
Albert is the ultimate husband goal ever and Victoria was so lucky. So sad to see him pass away at a somewhat early age
WHAT?! It’s the last part ??? Thank you for this journey Lindsay !!!
Maybe the next series you can do is the mothers of rulers who were like never crowned queens
Literally not even after a day this was made, prince Phillip has passed away!
Rip :-(
Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you all know that I am the other Elizabeth I that sometimes shows up in the comment section, I decided to go undercover for fun :) Great video, Lindsay! Sorry I was late 😅
Your videos make my day great, I bet others too! Keep it up!!😄
I went to Osborne house today, lovely experience, it looked like an Italian palace in a way, 100% recommend!
Amazing series am grateful for~ cannot help noticing ending this series with Prince consort Phillip, who just died as this was aired~ such synchronicitiy💫💖🌎
i LOVED this series. very informative but in a way where its easy to grasp like all of your other videos!! ive tried out editing and boy its a lot more time consuming than i thought lol so thank you for putting in the work to make these
The timing with prince philip's death
You shall be missed Phillip, you served your country well. 99 years is an amazing life
I think she accidentally said 100
We are all so lucky to have subscribed to Lindsay Haliday’s channel here and to have had this video fresh in our minds these past hours with Prince Philip health as he prepared to move on to the next realm. Wonderful work, Lindsay. Thank You!
Loved this series so much!! I'm sad its over.
I was enjoying this video, and had started the section on Prince Phillip when it was first announced that he had just passed away. It was very surprising, even though his health has not been the best. He has been with Elizabeth ll for so many years.
Most do not know a time without them both. I am feeling saddened for Queen Elizabeth, who must carry on now without her best friend and husband. God bless them both.
I was in my final month's in secondary school when the Queen Mother passed away, the funeral procession drove past Datchet where my school is to Windsor Castle. The headmaster allowed my year(seniors) to stand along the path as the procession passed, we all bowed our heads in silence & respect.
I love all your videos!
Thank you so much for all your research and putting these videos together. Their factual, educational and entertaining.
Lindsay, you are awesome!
I absolutely adored this series! Thank you!
Very well done! I was looking forward to this episode, yet I'm sad that it means that the series is at an end. Great job, as always. Please keep the outstanding videos coming and God bless you, my friend!

Queen Ena (Victoria Eugenie) of Spain was the wife of Alfonso XIII, not VIII.
Just watched the video this morning, and now it was just announced the Prince Philip has passed away. The end of an era... :(
Yes, I enjoyed this series very much!😊
Finally I've finished watching this series I learned so much
Thank you for that wonderful video. Now, just a day later, Philip of Mountbatten is no longer. He did a remarkable job. Thank you for your service
just binged the whole series!! i have been looking for exactly this for the last couple of years and i am so grateful it was made! and made so well! nailed it!!
The parallels between Alexandra and Diana are astounding, the related Alice and Camilla non withstanding.
Congratulations on being able to finish is very well-researched project. The information was Prime.
Sadly, Philip never reach his centennial year. May the Duke of Edinburgh rest in peace
Thank you Lindsay. An enchanting presentation.

OK
I have really enjoyed this series, Lindsay. I just wanted to gently point out that Queen Alexandra, Edward VII`s consort, was actually buried at St George`s Chapel, Windsor, not at Sandringham.
