Didn't knew that indycar had different cars back then . Why don't they have it now? I would love to see different cars in indycar rather than similar cars which they have now.
Man, those were the glory years. Sam and Uncle Bobby were so great, and Paul Page always did a great job. So glad NBC does the coverage from now on (mostly). Indycar is on it's way back!!!
My Father and I went to Phoenix, in 1990 and went to many races at Phoenix, Indycar to race at Phoenix, again. I like the track after IMS. Texas. All time Ontario, Ca.OMS, IMS, Phoenix, Texas, California track and St. Louis and Mil.Tenton.
NTT Indycar series, great race, thanks for the view. Surfer's Paradise 1993, would much appreciate the view. Phoenix circuit looks rough and raw, the good old days.
13:03 race start 43:33 first yellow flag 44:39 second green flag 56:48 second yellow flag 1:02:08 third green flag was given off-screen 1:07:20 third yellow flag (paul tracy what ve you done) 1:13:41 fourth green flag 1:14:05 fourth yellow flag (seriously what was happened there?) 1:20:30 fifth green flag 1:27:10 end of the race
I watched this again today. Much nicer race than those they do now. Less regulatory interference then than now. Much more racing. I still watch the current races, but these old ones sure bring back memories.
🇺🇸 PHOENIX 🏜️ SCOTT GOODYEAR (WALKER RACING) ON POLE POSITION 🏁 RACE START 12 MINS 55 SECS. Shame Nigel Mansell 🇬🇧 crash in practice, I think he would have had a good race. Paul Tracey fantastic driving, laped the hole field by two laps, Super Mario.
Tracy came in at this point and was the fastest driver in the series as a full time rookie, if he had his head on straight he would have had dixon level success or gone to f1. Just not crashing from the lead 3 times would have given him the title
Remember when Phoenix was THE track made for open wheels? Good times, too bad the 2016-2018 races failed and ISC ruined Phoenix and made it some silly layout just for entertaining restarts with mid racing while it’s a season finale
jerryl davis bc there isn’t the money in it like there was back then. If they were still as big as they were back then we would still have that. No worry’s Indycar is coming back strong. This is the biggest field in years, rating and attendance are up, the new car looks very good and the biggest news in years is NBC taking over full time on tv coverage
During his championship season, he was still having accidents to the point that his fellow racers called him Cap'n Crunch! But you have to hand it to him: he was NEVER a boring driver. I've always supported him since his days with Team Penske. He would have been good in Formula One, giving Snowflake Villenueve a hard time!
Think about how Tracy was the fastest driver in the series and just by not crashing in the lead 3 times would have won 8 races and the championship as a virtual rookie
Mario is a national treasure, I'd really like to see Presidential recognition of his fantastic career and life.
Ah the old whistle sound from those turbos is so eargasmic
That RH-1 that Rahal had sure was pretty... too bad that's all it was.
Also look how great the coverage was in 1993!
David Land I love the old on board cameras. Really impressive for 93
Didn't knew that indycar had different cars back then . Why don't they have it now? I would love to see different cars in indycar rather than similar cars which they have now.
at one point in time, abc was unmatched.
What a great victory, Mario Andretti
R.I.P. Paul Newman and Carl Haas (Newman/Haas Racing)
Man, those were the glory years. Sam and Uncle Bobby were so great, and Paul Page always did a great job. So glad NBC does the coverage from now on (mostly). Indycar is on it's way back!!!
Bobby Unser, WOW.... He was a great commentator. The radio quality voice and that racing knowledge. Him and Paul were an All Star team.
Im from England. We invented the English language. I cant understand a word Bobby Unser says.
Thanks for putting these races on here Indycar Great memories Great racing. I watched most of them live. Great fun! Indianapolis born and raised.
The marlboro livery 😍
Luuk Roper Fancy seeing you here!
Hey they learned to not have the winner in the screencap!
:D
Thanks IndyCar!!

One of the best races I have ever watched.
Wow, a lot of elite drivers.
1993 Valvoline 200 At Phoenix International Raceway
NTT Indycar series, great race, thanks for the view. Surfer's Paradise 1993, would much appreciate the view. Phoenix circuit looks rough and raw, the good old days.
So Mario Andretti won at the age of 53 ?! WOW.
Guys we cannot find the broadcast for Manchete in phoenix in 1993 and CNT for Paulo José in 1994
13:03 race start
43:33 first yellow flag
44:39 second green flag
56:48 second yellow flag
1:02:08 third green flag was given off-screen
1:07:20 third yellow flag (paul tracy what ve you done)
1:13:41 fourth green flag
1:14:05 fourth yellow flag (seriously what was happened there?)
1:20:30 fifth green flag
1:27:10 end of the race
Would love to see Indy cars return to the 800 horsepower engines.
2023

Alan kulwicki died week before this race
Best season ever
Ahhhhhhhhhhh American What Do You
Yeah You Sure I Can't You The Kiss
25+ years later, and I'd still take an elder Mario over most of the current drivers.
Will you be showing race replays on here for all races this season like you did for St Pete?
Mario Andretti's Last Win in Indy Formula and Raul Boesel 🇧🇷 was 2nd in Phoenix
love phoenix i used to race my 10 speed around the track!
Paul Tracy was a gifted driver plagued by a rash temperament.
Tracy came in at this point and was the fastest driver in the series as a full time rookie, if he had his head on straight he would have had dixon level success or gone to f1. Just not crashing from the lead 3 times would have given him the title
Cars actually being able to follow close and set up passes at Phoenix..... Why ISC? Whyyyyyyyyyy?
I hope theres going to be 1993 era commercials to ;)
I must say todays sports broadcasters could learn a thing or two from these older broadcasts...
Remember when Phoenix was THE track made for open wheels?
Good times, too bad the 2016-2018 races failed and ISC ruined Phoenix and made it some silly layout just for entertaining restarts with mid racing while it’s a season finale
Back when Americans knew about F1.
Back they indycar had different chassis and three different engine manufacturers . Wow its amazing .why the f**k don't they have it now ?
jerryl davis bc there isn’t the money in it like there was back then. If they were still as big as they were back then we would still have that. No worry’s Indycar is coming back strong. New car from 2012
Paul Tracy 2 laps in front and wrecks himself lol

Not a good day for Penske. Jesus.

I miss these days of CART. I’m not a fan of today’s spec cars.
CHINA 500 For The Indycar
Racing an open wheel car on a oval circuit with concrete barriers all around is nuts.
Super Mario andretti
Super Mario wins again
Grooming me for a boring race this weekend, eh?
