In real life I like both cats and dogs, as long as the dogs aren't overly big (I'm somewhat small). But if I have a character in a computer game who has a pet, he or she will usually have a cat.

Of course you can swap out the axolotls in the pond for "koi" who are really salmon, but if you do that, don't add any axolotls. You will regret it later!
