I have always enjoyed these programs so much. I used to watch them on public T.V. with my Dad. I'm 55 now and on Medical leave. When I'm having a bad day they take my mind off my troubles. Dad has long since passed away as he was borne in 1919. I just Imagine him sitting in his chair laughing and it helps me keep going. Laughter is the best medicine. Making others laugh is a form of love.
Discovered this in 2022 and I’ve been binge watching plus replaying ever since, when I grow up I wannabe like compo. I wanna be carefree and irresponsible but only like compo and I hope my husband develops a sense of humor to match my spirits because if u live that long u should be able to live carefree like compo.
If if you really want to laugh, just look at all of the series, every night I go to bed laughing at the characters. They are so hilarious!! I have my grands and my children looking at the show.
That old lady who owns the shop I would have liked to have seen her try to sell something to Ronnie barker from open all hours that would have been a good one
If I'm not mistaken,....I think that was....Trevor Banister,....who was Lucas.... from ..."are you being served" he's a lot older probably dead ,...all of them.......may they REST in PEACE.
I started watching this sitcom back in 1974, had the original cast then, good laughs .... me 24 yrs. old back then .............now I'm watching these in 2019 and am the same age as most of these characters here............the laughs are not as often, replaced by the realization that I myself, in the autumn of my years.
When it comes to playing sad & pathetic characters no one does it like Stephen Lewis and Josephine Tewson both have made a career out of it. This show ( after Bill Owen's death), became a refuge for old sitcom character actors. Audbery used to be in In the sitcom "In Loving Memory", he played Billy's (Christopher Beeny) mate, Billy worked and lived with his Aunty Ivy (Thora Hird) who was a regular cast member...and all 3 actors have been in this comedy now...uncanny. Even with this "gang" of mates couldn't bring back that magic that Brian Wilde and ( to some extent) Bill Owen, and I hate to state the obvious but it was never the same, again, and not even in a good way. They practically milked the Howard & Marina scenarios to death, if they would've had them in on just occasions, it would have been so much better, Barry & Glenda were possibly the most boring of couples, Glenda ever more turning into a cantankerous battle axe just like her mother (Thora Hird) was. BUT the worse was still yet to come...Russ Abbot!!! 😠👎👎
Where do they do tht at? I listened and did not hear it. Plus the British are not as thin skinned as Americans on issues of perceived racism. They take it all tongue and cheek and poke fun at themselves no matter the race.
As an Asian, I’ve always enjoyed hearing that music whenever Entwistle came on. They emphasize his being Asian in the joke that he’s not from there but from Hull when everyone can see he’s Asian with the accent to match. Then there’s also the running gag about his mystical ways of the east & his ancient sayings. They really play into his being Asian but he’s still English and part of the group. Whenever Eli came on the scene he had his own silly little music and Marina has that suggestive(?] music when she has some close scenes with Howard. These characters have their own music that suited them
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
Its a lovely soft gentle comedy. I watched it whenever it was on. For me it died after Foggy left for the last time. After that it just became a pantomime type cringe worthy show.
I Am 82 And Watch Summer Wine To Get Away From This Mad Crazy world 🌎 With A Lunatic Coming To The WhiteHouse Guess I Can Not Enjoy The End Of My life 😂😂😂😂

😂
Best of luck.. I enjoy these TV series as I once used to live in Yorkshire as a little girl. I'm 83 now.. and I still enjoy a laugh👍
This show brought all the best actors on other shows and brought them back to us in the highlight of their senior years. I miss it SO MUCH!
This is my favourite era . There are so many fantastic stars in one show.
What a great sitcom. Absolutely fabulous. American sitcoms can't hold a candle to the British ones.
Truth!
Absolutely fabulous was also absolutely fabulous (as a series ^___^ )
This is the only Brit sit com worth watching IMO
I watch these over and over. Never gets old. Love these people.
I absolutely love Last of the Summer Wine. I wish they would put the series back on TV.
I wouldn't be the same with everyone gone and you can buy every series on DVD
It's still showing
It's on channel 20
It depends on where you live

I've just started watching this as well. It's such a good show!!
💕💕💕🌴 I'm in the mood for a delightful funny series AGAIN 🤣
I’ve been watching this series for ages - we had put the early series on VHS , which tells the time past. How much I enjoy all of these.
I enjoy watching this show. 2/3 of the main cast are gone but memories are happy ones watching this show.
My favorite British Comedy. It is on Kentucky's PBS. I watch the weekly episode two or three times during the weekend.
I love Summer Wine, l would watch this show with my Dear Mum... right up until she passed, we used to laugh so much at this show. RIP Mum xxx
.

♥
This cast of people were the greatest funny people!
Watchig this was like being surrounded with grandparents, very luverly.
Ms. Davenport is from "keeping up appearance" she was Hyacinth Bucket neighbor.
I love the Yorkshire countryside. I have ancestry from there. Sunday roast with mashed potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Yum.
You do a great job , loading these , others chop it off and have terrible sound ,,, my thanks. , Sir ,,, 👏 good job
Love the music! It reminds me of Grace and Favor. And of course the scenery is to die for!
try dailymotion. hard to navigate but has original format, no clipped frames.
I do enjoy the quotes from other songs in the music - " There's a tavern in the town " and " Straight down the middle " were in this episode.
That old lady who owns the shop I would have liked to have seen her try to sell something to Ronnie barker from open all hours that would have been a good one
That would have been wonderful. I'm smiling just thinking about those two together Thanks!!!
Google "Hilda Odgen"
A good one indeed. I would have paid good money to it, lol
AUNTIE WAINRIGHT AND ARKWRIGHT !🇬🇧😁
Did you know Nora Batty went to the shop?
this show is so true on life
Good old Nora, if you can't give them some brush give them a bowlful of washing up water!
I walk with the guys, have coffee with the galls and cry when no ones around...💛
"You, stir anybody's blood? you'd need a lot bigger spoon than you've got" Oh, Nora! Made me laugh out Loud!
Me,too.
Mrs. Davenport and Entwhistle would make a good couple.
Love watching these guys.
If I'm not mistaken,....I think that was....Trevor Banister,....who was Lucas.... from ..."are you being served" he's a lot older probably dead ,...all of them.......may they REST in PEACE.
Yes it is him and Trevor Bannister died aged 76 of a heart attack apparently on his allotment....! Back in 2011, most of the cast are dead now sadly.
Yep. May they be happy.
@@DamiensTrainsandTravels wht is his allotment? Wht is an allotment?
@@hellooutthere8956 I said Trevor Bannister died on his allotment
I didn't notice Trevor... where is he?
Sad half the cast has passed away, and now Peter Sallis RIP
This is one of the best
Only thing better is if they made 20 episodes every year instead of 8
Trevor Bannister and Frank Thornton, alumni of "Are You Being Served".

"Robert Fyfe and a few supporting cast
members still survive but I think he's
the oldest of the surviving cast and
just had a birthday."
i like last of the summer wine
So excellent!
@ 27:08secs
Nora batty looked like MYRA HINDLEY ON CRACK ... 😂😂😂
to quote compo, "she has a wicked tongue, does Nora Batty".
We always loved Compo!
I miss Compo!
Love it
Most entertaining
gorgeous
Shame you didn't upload these at a proper screen size because it's cropped wrong and causes a blurry distortion every move they make.
The only “original” cast members still alive are “Marina, Howard, Pearl, Barry and Glenda” I believe.
John pauley except none of these were in the pilot episode or the first 2 series. Although the lady who played Pearl died IIRC during 2018.
@@neildahlgaard-sigsworth3819 " Marina " is dead now as well !!
add to favourites on ipad
Perhaos this series might be rerun on RUclips
never was the same after compo
All these ladies are from other britcom, Marina is also from keeping up appearances.
I don’t remember Marina (Jean Fergusson) from Keeping Up Appearances 🤔
Sitcomul ar fi bun și în Romania în locul celor de doi bani producții romănesti.
💕💕💕🌴
Wow so funny
Look they've killed Aubrey, sorry GOD! . Cleggy is the greatest!
You just have to love them (all). LOL
Sticky buns
PEARL IS QUITE "A PEARL" .....CAN YOU IMAGINE COMING HOME TO THAT EVERY NIGHT ??? CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT ! 👎☠
Po
Love
Bring back Compo .... or give it up
Sadly can't... he's dead
They should have stopped when Bill Owen (Compo) died. He was the life and soul of this show .
BETTER START DIGGING........HE'S 6 FOOT UNDER !

I never thought Tewson was pathetic in KUA.
I enjoy the show very much, but I don't like the oriental music when Entwistle comes on the scene.

They never really resolve things on this show. Things are always left up in the air.
Its odd since this show came out in the 70s no one seems to have aged .they just die
Compare to the crap that's on the BBC is rubbish
Its a lovely soft gentle comedy. I watched it whenever it was on. For me it died after Foggy left for the last time. After that it just became a pantomime type cringe worthy show.
Dont like how the old ladys treat the men like rubbish
That’s why it’s funny
