Don’t be fooled stocks are not the economy, I had 250k put aside waiting for the fed to stop raising rates. Now I want to get back into the markets, but the hike might continue and stocks will still climb, I’m confused on how to strategise and happy to discuss.
The stock market will go down further and goodluck on the fed pausing rate hikes w/ all the hawkishness that has failed to keep up with inflation.
If the unemployment rate is able to remain steady while the Fed hikes and inflation falls back to target, a soft landing might be on the table
Don’t expect a soft landing. We know inflation still far from its 2% destination - the FOMC didn’t raise rates now, we can never fortell their moves these days
Fixed income Tbills and bonds may work for you while you try to figure out the next entry point for stocks
I agree It’s always good to have a balanced fin-plan. I work with a professional planner multi mrkt and fixed-income strategist in NY. the fixed income portion of your portfolio won’t simply serve as a buffer to the volatility of the equity portion of your portfolio, but will provide legitimate income.

I'm so glad I'm retired I do not have to worry about losing my job and have to be retrained yearly at a new job because I lost my job, I believe the future for many will become very insecure the days of job security is going away or is gone, it's not your grandpa's world anymore where you got a job and worked it until you retired, very scary times ahead for many
You're correct, but take into account people who are born into this. They don't know anything different.
Retraining for month/years is irrelevant when AI can retrain itself in minutes/hours.
AI will have the globe questioning reality, very soon.

This was a good interview. I've been in data analytics for decades and have been working on my AI masters. This guest has a good understand of generative AI.

I hate interacting with the phone services when you call your bank or health provider with an actual problem, not something simple like what's my balance. I always seem to get stuck in an endless loop until finally being put on hold, and often times you will wait for an hour only to have the hold be cut off. It's awful. The bots on the career pages are annoying too. Unless it's the most basic question that you can find yourself on the webpage, it usually can't answer you or gives you answers that are not helpful. At this point, I feel like I am being used to train these AI's by engaging with them.

Last July, I used AI to help buy a condo. I vectorized all my PDFs and asked through generative AI.
It helped me understand my HOAs finances. It also discovered that the lender and agents missed a $500 seller concession in the closing documents.
Saving me $500 was worth it.
Anyone who says that AI won't replace people is naive best. If AI makes one person three times more productive, that means you need two less people to get the same amount worked up. Why would companies keep extra headcount that they don't need?

AI can’t even field calls after all this time, chat bots are worthless in resolving customer Svc issues. AI will replace only fans without a doubt but they aren’t going to replace all workforce they are going to compliment it or improve upon it.
When a company asks for my number I automatically dislike them. When I get spam texts or calls they lose my business on principle.
Perhaps the skilled trades will finally regain some respect it deserves. For many years the public was convinced a non-technical degree was worth going into debt for.

Instead of paying 10s of thousands to property taxes, children could learn at home. Kids love videos games and a learning program could be designed to teach kids. One that's so much better than a teacher who hates her job.
No more school shootings. No more bloated budgets for schools, utilities, buses, teachers salaries and pension, no more superintendent making 6 figures to sit on his behind. No more crappy school food. No more bullies.
Our kids could learn in 4 hours a day rather than getting up at 630am and getting home at 5pm. Our kids can usually the restroom instead of holding it all day. Our kids can eat healthy meals prepared at home rather than phony Chicken fingers at school that are hard and pink inside. Kids can have time to go outside and play with siblings and neighbors kids. Older kids can work bagging groceries or filling burgers and get real life experiences because 4 hours of school can be done whenever rather than on a set schedule.

Not true. I got a referral for a buyer's rep from Melissa. He's a fireman and does sales part-time. He's an ex-plumber and he'll go into a crawl space and do a pre-inspection inspection. That's worth a lot to us because we both hate spiders.

How did that AI workout for Redfin, Zillow and Open door? AI can work in straightforward, basic scenarios. The moment wild variable or black swan event enters the stage, AI crumbles.
This is apparent across all AI implementations. AI will replace basic and repetitive white collar jobs - receptionist, tech support, call centers. Higher level jobs than require human touch and sophistication will be fine.
