    written pattern:
row 1: start with slipknot. ch 5 and slst into first ch so you have a loop. ch3 (counts as a dc) and 2dc into the loop. ch2, 3dc, and repeat this 3 more times (5 sequences total). slst into the first ch3 to complete the row
row 2: slst into the next st to skip into the ch space. 1hdc, 1dc, 1tc into the chsp, chain 2 and 1tc, 1dc, 1hdc into that same chsp. slst to skip into the next chsp and repeat that sequence until the row is done. slst to finish it and it should be looking like a little flower :)
row 3: 3sc into the next 3 st so youre at the chsp. 1hdc, 1dc, ch2, 1dc, 1hdc. make 1sc into every st until you make it to the next chsp, and repeat this until the row is done. slst into the last st to finish the row.
row 4 and 5: repeat row 3 until youve reached your bikini size. 5 rows is usually enough but you can keep going if you need to. to make the straps, ch 60 (or more) into each star point :)
mods: for more coverage you can do a ch1 chsp. it may be a little more difficult to place sts into the chsps but it works. for more support, you can do 2 smaller stars and sew/sc them into the 2 main ones. also i recommend giving the straps a row of sc bc i find that chain straps hurt me a bit. also, a tip: you can make round nipple covers and sew/sc them into the stars for more coverage. thank you dana for this awesome pattern!!

just a tip if you don’t want your nipples to show through the holes you can separately crochet a circle and then thread it into the back

Really love this pattern! Simplistically effective~ I ended up sewing the two together for a more fixed/secure top, but that's my personal pref. Wanted it to be beach friendly without the titty-poppin if I ended up doing anything like beach volleyball 😂 made some nice bottoms to go with it, and it's become one of my more favorite bikini combos ♥️ thanks a bunch for the video! It was really easy to follow. I can see why some people may have difficulty seeing with the color, but I still managed without any problems~ I stuck with a classic coral pink for the stars, a sea breeze blue for the straps as well as for the striped bottoms alternating with a cream color. Very retro and nostalgic vibes. I loved this pattern so much I'm planning on doing 2 others. One with a more red/white/blue theme for a more patriotic look, and another most likely black/dark colors for a more goth/punk vibe to contrast the colorful ones.

Random side note, definitely pay more attention to the amount of slack your yarn provides. I did 2 so far. The first one went fine, so I figured it would have the same exact number of rows for the next one. Kinda wish I payed attention cause I'd go back and take away a few rows before finishing. It's a bit bigger, and still works, but still a mild deterrence.

Make slip knot. Chain 5 and in the first stitch, slip stich together both ends.
Row 1: chain 3, in center of ring make 2 dc. Chain 2. Repeat this sequence (3 dc, chain 2) until you have 5 groupings of 3 dc. Slip stich to first stitch
Row 2: slip stich into second chain, in first big space 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tc, chain 2. 1 tc, 1 dc, 1 hdc. Slip stitch in middle of the three dc group. Repeat (1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tc, chain 2, 1 tc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, slip stitch in middle chain). Slip stitch into first chain to complete round.
Row 3: sc in each stitch until you read the middle of the space (where you made the chain 2 of the last round). In that space, 1 hdc, 1 dc, chain 2, 1 dc, 1 hdc. Sc into the next stitch and all the way until you reach the next space (from the chain 2). Repeat (sc in each stitch until you get to the space, in space 1 hdc, 1 dc, chain 2, 1 dc, 1 hdc, sc the rest) until complete. Slip stitch into first chain to complete round.
Repeat round 3 until you get to your desired star size.

does anyone else have the problem that it doesn't turn out completely flat but kinda curls into itself? Or could anyone with more experience tell me what the problem could be? I had to make it a bit bigger, my stitches are pretty tight and I always did slipstitches after each section because i wanted the star to be a bit more defined. Idk if any of these three things could be the reason why it's not flat. I was thinking that it's not that surprising, since the 5 sections are very similar to how you make bralette cups, which also curl in in that way. But I'm surprised that hers turned out flat, so i was thinking maybe i've done something wrong? Does anyone have any tips?

Hey, i tried it too, i thought that it would be enough big for my boobies, and then i tried to try it on but it looked the same as you describe. it would be big enough but it curls. i unraveld the whole thing. i think the issues are:
      • crochet to thight (if you are worried for the gaps, try sewing a old t-shirt fabric or any fabric im your desired color on the back on the star when you're done.)
•ajust the pattern, (im going to try to do everything with double crochets, every sticht that she makes a double/half double crochet im going to make a tripple/half tripple crochet, and at the beginning im going to do a 4 crochet instead of a tripple crochet)
•also if everything dont work try a different yarn, (im also gonna do this if everything from above don't work)
•or try to make it thicker (crochet with two strands of yarn)
hope that helps, im going to tell you what the issue was so you can do your bikini too 😊

      @@05kittycat1 Here is the update:
i ended up using 2 strands of my yarn (size 2). i crocheted with a 4mm hook and crocheted very loosely. if you have a problem with crocheing loose try to pull the hook upwards (instead of straight through) while pulling the yarn through the loop, so the loop gets a little bigger. if you still need help, i'll do a tutorial on my insta when you wan't to :)
