Where do I start. I travelled to Nottingham with my son to see my big son at university. My coach back home was 8:00pm. We arrived at the point of collection at 7:30 pm. At 8:15 pm the coach hadn't arrived. I thought the coach was just running late. At 8:45 pm I contacted customer service which was not a call center, but a chat operator. I explained the problem only to be told the coach had already left which was a lie as we were there from 7:30pm. I got cut off and went to chat again. This time it was around 9:00 pm and still so coach. My son was cold and tired. When I got through a second time I was told the coach was cancelled.
I am deeply sadden to be treated like this. We had to get a train home costing £103.50. No refund for my train fair yet and no refund for the cancelled coach and no compensation for the inconvenience. I live in London and this company left us stranded in darkness with no word of communication. My son was scared as we were in the city centre with all sorts. I will never use this company again. No one has contacted me to apologise or anything. We didn't get home until after 12;00 am. How disgusting is that. This is the first time and last time I use this company. They have also kept some of my funds for a discount on any further trips I want this back as I do not plan to travel with them again. No way!!!

I love The Netherlands (except Amsterdam) and thought about taking Flixbus from Stockholm to Rostock, then to Lieve Nederland. It's looks a whole lot better than Greyhound in the US. Being a German based company, at least they look like they know how to stay consistent and on schedule. Greyhound in the US is horribly managed, understaffed, and hardly on time. They can't even maintain a proper schedule. It took me over 2 days to get to my destination, when it should have been less than a day. The Greyhound is like a homeless shelter on wheels now. Public transportation in the UK and Europe are way better.

My gosh, y'all! In Europe, you don't have anything larger than this Potato Pinto of a bus? Looks like a sardine can!
I love South American bus services. In Uruguay, or Argentina, for example, you get a cool late model bus, with all the amenities, leather seats, for a two hour trip! If you go on longer trips though, they throw you in a two story bus, that makes the 787 Dreamliner red with shame. And it costs a fraction of what Flixbus charges.
I'm really frustrated with the transport options in Europe. Trains are a pain to figure out, are overpriced, and often are all booked. Blablacar? it's all blah blah blah, no service at all. Driving a car? Costs as much as the GDP of Austria, with super high gas prices. Flying? One of the few somewhat easier options, when it's cheap! But in Spring/Summer? You might just as well walk across Europe.
So, I'm left with the following options:
    A. Riding a bicycle through Europe.
    B. Buying a cheap scooter/moto, and ride it through Europe
    C. Come here and complain how bad transport is in Europe!

    • @JordanandEmily

@@JordanandEmily Indeed, bus services there are top notch since it's often the chosen form of transportation as it's cheaper. There's lots of competition among bus companies, so every bus company is trying to compete with the other on service and equipment. It's crazy.
My last bus in S.A had LED accent lights on the floor, roof, and sides. The seats looked like something out of a Land Rover lol and best of all, I had a huge amount of leg room (I'm 6ft).

They really should! They need to take some advice from the south American buses!

Apparently, it's prohibited by (european?) law to drive on roads lying down for safety reasons. The seatbelts can't retain you as well in case of a crash. Theoretically at least, and you'd have to even use them in that case😅

Buses in European countries have very, very small seats. It is very bad for travel

they can be rather tight but we were surprised by how comfortable we were! Guess having ultra low expectations always helps 🤣

No wifi unfortunately (although they claim to have it!)
There are intermitted power points that we could see but don't count on it haha

The train would have been a far better and more relaxing travel option ! And by the way the route looks absurd: First from the Netherlands to France, that means southwards and then on to Poland ? What a waste of time ....
