Great video, Tony. Interesting that the unit with old school analog meters looks like a new design - maybe they are going for the "Retro" market? As someone else mentioned, it would be interesting to see thermal images of it in operation. Regards, David
Would JF-60 be good enough for car audio amplifier repair use? Adjustable amperage is good thing indeed. I could get new one for only 127 euro's, while Maas or Manson costs like 500e.
The JF-60 for that price is a great deal. i think for car audio it could be good. a car alternator could also be a bit noisy, so car equipment can handle that, its far less sensitive than RF equipment. the Jetfon PC55 or simular looking are around 170 here in EU.
It would be useful to see them connected to a programmable load with a 1 Hz load from 10% to 90% to simulate a CW or SSB TX. Monitor both voltage and current and see how stable it is. Many power supplies are designed for static, not very dynamic loads like amateur TX.
Another very useful PSU for HAM is the server PSU units. They are switchmode, but don't interfere with radios. And a 1500W is less then £20.00 on eBay.
Thanks for great video! Heres a happy PC55SW user. Its been running on 24/7/365 for over 5 years now powering my remote station.
Thanks! , yes agree, the SW55SW is the best choice for Hams, but also other purpose, its just the better one.

Thanks David! .. yes indeed thermo the new one too.

Thanks stephen! .. so much better now...
Wow. Only 40p each for the fan PWM controller. Might just order one 😀
@@Stephen_Heathcote Exacly, i keep a few in stock for cases like this ..

Yes good one.. thanks!
I was surprised by the difference in heat sink areas. I wonder how hot the other unit gets?
Yes good one, i should have done that... was more distracked by the noise

Yes indeed.. i have a few of those too. but you need one that can go from 12v to 13.8 .. not all are very adjustable
🙂👍 jest moc 💪
Thank you!
