1. There's a lot of dynamic contrast in this song. It swells a lot throughout. Adds a lot to the pull and pull of the song. Creates a lot of stress and release.
My Love, My Life
ABBA
I've seen it on your face
Tells me more than any worn out old phrase
So now we'll go separate ways
Never again we two
Never again, nothing I can do
Like an image passing by, my love, my life
In the mirror of your eyes, my love, my life
I can see it all so clearly
Answer me sincerely
Was it a dream, a lie
Like reflections of your mind, my love, my life
Are the words you try to find, my love, my life
But I know I don't posses you
So go away, God bless you
You are still my love and my life
Still my one and only
I've watched you look away
Tell me is it really so hard to say
Oh, this has been my longest day
Sitting here close to you
Knowing that maybe tonight we're trough
Like an image passing by, my love, my life
In the mirror of your eyes, my love, my life
I can see it all so clearly
Answer me sincerely
Was it a dream, a lie
Like reflections of your mind, my love, my life
Are the words you try to find, my love, my life
But I know I don't posses you
So go away, God bless you
You are still my love and my life
Yes, I know I don't posses you
So go away, God bless you

¡Gran Homenaje!
Love this song♥️
One of my favorite ABBA songs. It is so beautiful. When she hits that high note on “and my life.” I love it.
Wonderful ABBA. Great job.👏👏👏
Beautiful Agnetha; some people just have it all!
This song was simply a masterpiece. If I could think of one word to describe it,it would be "haunting".
Agnetha Faltskog doesn’t show off, she’s all about the song but I can’t think of a more beautiful voice.
I really don't know why, but everytime I hear this song I can't keep it dry.. so angelic.
no explanation needed. Sometimes certain songs just resonate with certain people for some unknown reason. I feel the same way about some songs too.
And the scene from Mama Mia 2 ( featuring this song) opens the flood gates of tears like nothing else!
Thank you for reviewing this song. Agnetha really shines in this song and proves she's a fabulous singer, especially when she belts.
You got me thinking and I can’t choose just which song I like of angnetha the best.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 If you get into her solo albums post-ABBA, there are some really really beautiful songs. Even her last album from 2013 has some really good songs on it.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 In Kisses of Fire (so hot) she holds a note for ten seconds.
Bought the album Arrival, and played this song incessantly. Nobody in the house complained. That was a first. It is a fantastic song, still listen to it a couple of times a week, 40 plus years later.
I have heard you say how you like the rise and fall of a song, the contrast between upbeat and slow tempo. I'm with you on that, so try "Move on" another underrated classic.
I´ve said this before for the original video with Agnetha: If there were angels and they could sing, it would sound like this. And look like Agnetha in the original video.
Beautiful voices.
Her voice...so clear!
Pity we didn't see the clip of Angetha singing. The most beautiful she ever looked . . .
Mit einer der schönsten Songs überhaupt!!!👌👌👌
Verry Nice, ILove IT ‼️‼️‼️
It's a tear-jerker.
I love this song. So angelic. Arrival is my favorite Abba album. Arrival is an instrumental song by the way. Knowing me, knowing you is on this album.
Thanks for the reaction. Both those girls are great vocalist, You should do "I Wonder" off Departure - Or "Like An Angel Passing Through My Room" off The Visitors to show off Frida's vocal skills. You know Benny and Bjorn are great, and I do mean great songwriters. But at that time these girls where just unmatched in talent. And to have them both in one band performing your work. Lucky guy's. But you could say the same with the girls getting their songs to perform too. Just a great mix of talent.
Slipping Through My Fingers is a better song for me than Like An Angel, though it isn't a Frida song obviously.
Frida has a major vocal part on The Name of the Game. Obviously her lead vocal on Super Trooper is famous. Fernando is also famous. I Let The Music Speak has been reacted to. There's a good live version of Money Money Money from Japan.
@@starry2006 All great song's. I really like "i Wonder". It's all her and not a lot of production on the vocals. But hey I just throw them out and hope he does more ABBA.
The ''Up and down'' flow of the song echo's the emotions being felt by the singer. The sense of loss/panic leads to an intake of air and the chest heaves; that gives way to a feeling of quiet realisation of the situation.
Gorgeous song My love my life!! Try Thats me from arrival Great uplifting song !!
I’m getting to that one.
That is a good one, as is Dum Dum Diddle which shows a folk pop influence and has a charming uplifting feel.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 Try "That's Me", "Dum Dum Diddle" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You". I still think in Albums 3-5 (Arrival was their 4th) Abba hit their stride
Marco De Barbander, i like that song too
@@nickchristoforou7850 I think Arrival was their best but I'll forever be annoyed that they replaced Happy Hawaii with Why Did It Have To Be Me.
Good reaction, you are very insightful, ABBA’s “Dance while the music still goes on” is a GORGEOUS song from the early days, I think you’re gonna love it.
In the sequel to the Mamma mia movie this song with meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried is a total tearjerker. I cried in the cinema when they sang this song with changed lyrics to fit into the narrative of the film
I haven’t watched it yet. I was about to then the little boss distracted me. I’ll get to it.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 watch the first film from 2008 and then the 2018 sequel, it's in the sequel where u will find my love my life
will do
@@jaybrielakoi7747 its the best part of the mamma Mia here we go again movie
Madly beautiful song. There's a video (Agnetha singing on a TV show). Please, try Arrival's track The Tiger
The backing vocals are a multitrack, creating a 'wall of sound'. They were inspired by the 10cc song "I'm Not In Love". It gives the song a very angelic quality,
It’s a great feel to it.
10 cc Eric Stewart did produce her 2nd English solo Album Eyes of a Woman
Here's something interesting I've just noticed. The line "Was it a dream, a lie?" in the chorus has the same melody as the fourth line of the verses "Never again we two" and "Sitting here close to you"
ABBA FOREVER
A song I'd like to recommend by ABBA, is 'I Am Just A Girl'. Although there's diversity in their music, there's a degree of conformity to them, that makes them easily identifiable ABBA songs, however, 'I Am Just A Girl' was sung at the start of their career, before they succeeded international fame, and the song has a uniqueness that stands out from other ABBA songs.
very much enjoyed your reactions to ABBA and now, let's see if you might be lured further down the rabbit hole and react to some solo work. Agnetha, the blonde female in the group, went into somewhat of a self-imposed exile in the late 80's until surprisingly re-emerging 25 years later in 2013 with the release of an album simply entitled "A". The single that coincided with the release of the album was entitled "When You Really Loved Someone". Some have speculated, 'though I am not one of them, that this was a sort of auto-biographical endeavour. Nevertheless, it was so nice to hear that angelic voice once again (although she does not have the range she once did, I find her voice still as lovely as ever).
But she already released solo albums in 1983, 1985, 1987 and 2004!
You nearly crying, this song is touching everyone
Maybe one of the saddest songs by ❤A❤B❤B❤A❤
I agree about the dynamics, but I would also plug Agnetha's high parts. I know she's claimed on more than one occasion that they were always pushing her to sing higher and higher without straining or distorting her voice and this is a good example of that. There are even better examples in my opinion, however, but they are more of a part of the background of other songs. That's the thing about ABBA, there's no way to make up my mind about most songs with just a few listens. There is so much content that you can listen to them for years and one day lock in on a tone or something that you hadn't noticed. I'm also always looking for Agnetha's little something. She said she always put a little something in every song unique to her.
Nice song jay.💞
Great video reaction I love ABBA and came across another band from the 70s called nasville train and they do an album called ABBA are own way and wow they are awesome I don't normally like ABBA cover versions but this band is awesome. Try there version of fernando 👌
My favorite ABBA song is Waterloo. I wish I could play the piano piece from it. But alas, I can’t play the piano. It would be fun though.
🥰🎶👍.....
So you haven't done Knowing Me Knowing You or Dancing Queen. The two biggest hits from the album and some of ABBA's biggest hits from all albums.
Credence Clearwater Revival song " I Put A Spell On You" .great awesome group of the late 60's and on. Made many great songs lead by awesome singer and writer John Fogerty. Unique sound.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🎼
In my opinion this is one of ABBA's very best songs and I never heard it on the radio. But I don't hear anyone else singing in the song so is this just a song for Agnatha?
this is my no. 2 favorite song
I loved "Tropical Loveland" very much when I was little. ABBA never liked it, but I hope you'll give it a chance. I still like it very much!
Amore mio,Vita mia.🤍
There's nothing either of those girl's couldn't sing. Absolute Consumate's.
the pronunciation of Angetha is An-yeta
Sadly you hearing it through bad digital audio and therefore not getting the full or correct sound, I suggest getting the half speed master of Arrival
Song request/reaction: Memory by Barbra Streisand.( 3:58 version)thanks.😍👍😱
You should do a reaction to Nina Pretty Ballarina by ABBA,please.

Para ti (al igual que yo),
que disfrutas ver en los videos a los protagonistas al cantar,
te propongo ver la misma canción aquí:
ruclips.net/video/C7oiWbA6hDc/видео.html
"Hole in your sole"

Am I the only ABBA fan who does not like the Mamma Mia movies?
No. 😉
yet to see them.
I'm not a fan of Mamma Mia movies....Abba is only good when you get the real thing.
It's one of those musicals where next to no-one can actually sing.
I cringe each time a musical number starts in the film and some god awful actor/actress either talks there way through the song or just sings it flat as a tack.
These cash-in musicals/films are lazy ways to get an audience really. It's not just been done with ABBA of course.
Bad sound intermittent terrible.
Nice verses the rest is kinda boring
Love your honesty. I try to be as honest as possible without getting roasted here.
What I like about the chorus is that it feels extended, someone might think it's over but then it goes on a bit more. That suggests a bit more ambition. The only part that feels a bit simpler to me - and it's a minor criticism in the context of the recording - is the 'possessed you/God bless you' rhyme. 'God bless you' sounds kind of twee.
I like it when composers fake endings. I just dont like it when they do it more than a couple times. And if they're gonna fake the ending the real ending must be better than what I felt it was going to be. If that makes any sense to you guys.
@@jaybrielakoi7747 I didn't mean to suggest it was a fake ending to me, it's simply extended. It's just that those who are used to simpler songs might be more surprised. I find the song flows quite well throughout.
