    The internet is a funny place. A cat plays with a ball of string and it gets 6 million views. A stunningly beautiful video like this or any of the Prowalk tours gets a few hundred thousand views and occasionally over a million, and we get to see faraway places of great beauty. We see historic landmarks that are thousands of years old. I'll take Prowalks anyday and the rest of the internet can waste their time watching cats playing with balls of string! Prowalks is the best. I was actually in touch with the owners of a hotel/B&B in Civita di Bagnoregio, and the place looks absolutely amazing. The history you feel in the room makes you feel like a King or Duke will come through the door anytime. I will definitely explore them if and when we do plan to go to Italy.

      Me as well, except for the hordes of gawking tourists that put a huge damper on the original rural, rustic, remote, isolated feel of the place. I recognize that tourist cash is necessary to preserve the place, and thank God for that for the place is worth saving. As far as living there, yes I would've loved to live there a few centuries ago during its' heyday without all the tourists and their annoying smartphones and digital gadgetry.

    Thank you for this. This is the first Prowalk I have run across. I stopped in because of the name. I specialized in the writings of Saint Bonaventure, who of course was Bonaventura di Bagnoregio. I have always been curious about the place, and this was my first opportunity to actually - well, virtually - see it. Except for the early notice of a cave chapel named for him, there seems to be no other remembrance of what must certainly be their most famous resident. This is a fascinating look at a medieval Viterban commune. Too bad that much of it was destroyed by earthquake. Thanks again. I will certainly look for other Prowalks.

    Greetings, Mr. Pro-Walk! It’s been awhile (since I was scared away by ads interrupting one of your walks) but I’ve just watched several, and only one had an ad interruption. (Hardly the end of the world, but it hadn’t been an issue at all before. Plus, I so enjoy how relaxing these nicely paced walks are, without the startling intrusion of an ad to break the spell).
    What a beautiful little hill town to walk through! It had everything I have come to love about your walks, including a bit of hidden-by-greenery mystery...This was also an especially tranquil walk, which you timed beautifully: It wasn’t packed with people, and the late afternoon sunlight was golden.
    Amazingly, as back in December, I once more found (five) spots where text was absent. In case you’d like to check, the times are 3:30, 9:47, 10:45, 11:25, and 21:33.
    As per a couple of comments I saw, my two cents: I think your pacing is great-which is tricky-though occasionally wish you could linger a few extra seconds on historical details. (Seconds, not minutes!) I think you have consistently crisp, clear imagery and sound, and am truly grateful you’re still making these gorgeous videos. Please take good care and best wishes to your family!

    • @ProWalks
      @ProWalks  4 года назад +1

      Hey Nan, I'm glad you made your way back. I think I mentioned this in an earlier comment, but I always just leave the ads on automatic and let RUclips decide how many to put in the video. I could put them at any interval I choose but very rarely do that. What do you mean the text is absent? Is there a caption window but no text? I just went to those times you listed and was able to read the captions fine. Thanks for the comment on that. Thanks too for the feedback on the walk itself. I was really hoping to re-film this walk. There were parts I wasn't too happy with. I'll try to pause just a bit longer at those right moments. My family and I are doing just fine. I'm working from home and have a little bit more time to edit some old walks. Now I'm trying to plan where to go as soon as the lockdown is lifter. There won't be any tourists here at all. I hope you and your family are doing well too. Talk soon.

    • @nanwilder2853
      @nanwilder2853 4 года назад +1

      Prowalk Tours: When you said that you could read the captions just fine, I re-checked the five spots where I had missing text (unfinished sentences), determined to figure it out...I should first say that I’m on an I-pad, not a laptop. With the exception of one spot, I made the same discovery: When the video was minimized, all of the text WAS there. But when I re-sized it to fill the screen-which is how I watch them-there were missing words at the end of sentences. It appears to be due to crowding out by a couple of screen icons at the end of the timeline-which sounds ridiculous as I type this! I feel ridiculous, as well, because it did not occur to me to try this sooner.
      I hope you can forgive me for wasting your time with this. (I was baffled the first time, by “formatting” issues appearing, when I’d not seen any before, with ANY video captions or subtitles, let alone your very well made Tours). Though this I-pad makes me crazy at times, it IS nice for the 360 videos, which are so much fun!
      Thank you so much for your reply. I was concerned for you and your family when news reports on Covid-19 in Italy were dire; so it’s great to hear that you’re all fine. Ciao for now!

    The audio really complimented your equally interesting video. Had my earphones and enjoyed the stereo sound. do you have an audio equipment for this? Thanks for sharing your walking tours.

    • @ProWalks
      @ProWalks  4 года назад +1

      Hey, glad you enjoyed the walk. Yes, I use in-ear monitors to capture the sound. Wearing the microphones in my ears captures the sound just as I hear it. It's called binaural audio. Works great with headphones but doesn't make much difference when listening on a stereo system.

    This is my absolute favourite of your videos right now. When we do make it to Italy, this is on our list to stay for a few nights. Isaac, if you are able to make it back there in 2021, I would love it. And I'd like to see how you make your way down into the tunnels under the city. Apparently you can enter or exit the town into or from the valley, so I would love to see you walk that route. Would be interesting to see you walk into the valley for 10 minutes or so, and then when you turn around, that would be a new view of the town as a whole! Especially in the evening, that should put the sun in behind the town if my directions are correct. Have a great year!

    • @ProWalks
      @ProWalks  3 года назад

      Hey Ken, I'll definitely be going back. I'm just waiting for March or April to come around. I don't want a low sun again like in this video. I'll see if I can explore the trails below too. On the day I filmed this video I had a really bad headache and actually felt terrible. I cut things a little short because I just wanted to get back home and sleep.

      @@ProWalks I don't blame you! It really is one of your best trips I've seen. I've never seen anyplace like this, seemingly frozen in time. I did see a brief walking tour from someone who was scampering through the tunnels, but they didn't start from the town and show us how to get there. Hope you feel better next time. Looking forward to your return.

    I thank you for the video about Civita di Bagnoregio! Tomorrow is my birthday. Turn of 30 years. I consider this video a gift. It is very nice that you are showing how to get to the city. I watched a few videos about Civita di Bagnoregio, but none showed how to get to the city. But you did it and I'm very happy about it! I learned from you that it was called the Dying City. Thank you for showing us how to get to the city! Thank you for the video!

    I am absolutely falling in love with this place. I've confirmed 4 nights at one of the B&B's- cross our fingers for some Covid relief by next spring! Some people may think that's a lot of time to spend here, but the accommodations are very inexpensive, there are wineries and cheese makers nearby, and honestly I could sit and just look at the village from your drone take-off point for hours. I'm looking forward to walking around in the evening when the day-tourists have left. I think this will be one of the "high points" of our Italy visit. To step back and live in the middle ages for a few days is not something found in many places in the world, even Italy.
