Thanks for posting. For those having trouble getting the big circuit board to move away, the bit that you can't see here is that the big circuit board is partially held in place by the potmeter knobs, the nuts on the jacks and two small screws on the variax input. If it won't come out, check those.

I have a line6 amp with a bad headphone jack, or at least that's what I assume the problem to be. I had a look inside but figured it was more daunting than I wanted to pursue. But this helps because I can at least take a closer look and see if it's something else that's burnt out.
A buddy of mine has the Line 6 v 240 a little over a year old and it's lost out put / sound . yeah we tried the volume peddle . it was a finicky amp any way , the owners manual / guide is 1 page of nothing . I'm looking at getting the Boss Katana 100 . I had two Roland cube 30s they sounded great and the only weak point was the plastic input jacks . I can't solder at all . It never sticks.

I know this is 2 years old so hopefully you see this. I've got one of these and it worked great. I hadn't touched it in a few months and recently plugged it back in. Well in order for me to even faintly hear it through my amp I have to crank everything up. I tried plugging it into another amp and still nothing. It powers up but the input it output is just not working. What would you recomend I look at? Or what would your suspicions be?

Hello. Luckily I found your video. I'm having a problem with the endless spin knob right next to the screen that shows the bank number ( select page) . That piece lost that inner jagged feeling and stopped working. I consulted a technician and he asked me for the data of how many omnios was ohms. Could you guide me please? Thanks.
I had to buy a replacement power input jack. The OEM unit is a cheap piece of garbage. Everything I own from Line 6 has required some type of repair or modification just to keep it functional. I've read a lot of complaints about strange volume and effects problems on both amps and digital pedals. My Spider Valve tube amp was cooking the circuit board @ around 350F so I had to put in fan cooling.
Rob's Fixit Shop I believe this is the only official Line 6 supplier of this part: www.fullcompass.com/prod/096566-line-6-21-00-0014-dc-jack-for-pod-xt-hd500-mm4 My Pod XT Pro Live pedal schematic shows that the part # is 21-00-0015 but Line 6 states that 21-00-0014 "DC power jack" is the replacement (although the power input is AC). I will have the replacement jack in my hands in about 20 minutes and confirm whether this is the correct part and report the quality as well.
I installed the replacement jack and the legs are definitely beefier. Side by side comparison to the old jack, yes it is better quality by having the sturdy legs.

I think u might know how to help me. My pod xt live has dead rotary encoders, and I haven't been able to find them locally. I was wondering if its possible to solder a couple of wires to the encoder pins and use a 555 or a tiny uC to simulate the encoder work just with to push buttons. Also I was thinking into tweaking the values of the knobs by the midi port. What would you recommend?
I have a Line 6 XT Live that isn't quite working properly. The reverb and delay doesn't work and when the tuner is activated, it doesnt react to any note played. apart from that everything else works fine. I'm hoping its a software / settings issue rather than a hardware / PCB problem. Could you please suggest how I could go about fixing this please?
Great job on bringing it back to life, Rob! Also, the power supply for the unit outputs an AC voltage. Would you know if a DC power supply can be used instead? I know that if a the circuit uses DC voltage and a bridge rectifier is used, you can technically supply the circuit with DC. Thank you very much.
I think it has to be ac because it uses a voltage doubler to get the 15 and -15 for the opamps and I think it needs the AC to work. Seems like a weird design choice.

I had the same problem. I took the back of the unit off and sprayed the pots with contact cleaner (there's a little hole in the back of the pot unit, to spray into) turning each knob as I sprayed. I did this a couple of times to make sure. Then I replaced the back, and tightened the nut around each of the pots from the front of the unit (I used a thin screwdriver to get into the small gap and tightened them - I read somewhere that if the pots are loose then it goes into edit mode, too). My POD XTLive now works like new again. Hope this helps

I have an issue with my Line 6 Pod Xt Pro. The virtual Reverb knob wiggles and sometimes gets so glitchy that you can not edit your preset. Or the screen gets stuck on Reverb type? Is this a reasonable thing to fix or a waste. It works, but when you connect the Floorboard it also conflicts with commands. Reverb switched off it switches back on. I took me forever to get sounds that I really like. If the repair is reasonable, I may fix it and sell it.
Hello! I have a Line 6 Pod XT Live. The pedal switch is turning on orange light and does not start. I noticed that the C.I of the 3v source is getting very hot. But I have not yet found the solution to this defect. Could you give me any hints on how to do this repair? Thank you
I can't really help much but I did notice that on mine the voltage regulators seemed to really run hot. If the 3 volt line was bad the computer wouldn't come up.
Any ideas on fixing the sudden power drops? They happen randomly. The level drops to super low. After a while it comes back usually at just the wrong moment
Great video! I have the same pedalboard and the only button not working is the ''effect tweak/change value'' knob. When I hit Edit and try to move along the different presets, nothing happes as if it would not respond at all. Any suggestions on how to get that fixed?
I would make sure the solder joints on the encoder are good, clean the encoder with some electronics cleaner, and if all that fails, replace the encoder. But I'm just guessing:-)

I am not an expert, but I would check the voltage regulators. It looked like it had one for 3.3, 5, and 8 volts. The board has test points that have the voltages labeled. If a regulator is bad, it can be easily replaced.

NO SIGNAL IN OR OUT in your XT live or XTLive bass ???? everybody, this can save you weeks of frustrations, this happened to me..... no matter how stupid it sounds.... are you using exactly the original line 6 power source A.C. adapter ??? not a regular-similar 9 V D.C. power source..... read carefully... the power source its the problem it happened to me... you need to be sure using the original A.C.power source (Not a regular D.C.) ...... iiiiiffff you use a regular 9V D.C. the input signal goes to ground and it does not process anything..... I was using a 9V D.C. and no signal and I spent 1 week doing all kind of updates and contacting techinal support for nothing... after I found my original power source and connected ...voila it works like a charm...I read many guys on internet having same problem and technical support not giving them any answer telling them "send them to us so we can check it up"..... and charging you for that..... use a 9V Altern Current.... not D.C....... do it now..... stop using a D.C. (D.C. did not damaged my unit but it just don't make it work

I have cleaned all the pots thoroughly but the problem still exists! Seems to be only on patches I have created! Could you point me in any direction to cure this? Thankyou

@ACS45Cal zoom has made many awesome effect units!!! I haven't used the G3x... I have G2-NU, and it has a lot of usable patches built in

I just got one today and same issue. I think our pots are dirty. we need to clean them with DeOxit

friend, did you ever notice if the 3.3V regulator heats up to the point of burning your finger if you touch the heatsink?
It's been awhile but I remember all the regulators really running hot. I was surprised there wasn't more heat sinking.

Sounds like a loose solder joint at the potentiometer legs. Try to resolder the joints. Remember to keep the nuts tight on the pots.

Pretty easy. You'll need some solder wick and patience to get the old one off but it is pretty straight forward.

I am not an expert but I would check to voltages. They are all marked on the board. Could be a bead voltage regulator for the main board. Good luck!

The op-amp that is repaired powered the head phones. Just use a 1/4" stereo jack to plug in.

Great point, you need an AC adapter because it uses voltage doublers to up the voltage needed for the OP amps.

Good day, did you get a fix for this problem? I am having the same issue..
I had the same problem. I took the back of the unit off and sprayed the pots with contact cleaner (there's a little hole in the back of the pot unit, to spray into) turning each knob as I sprayed. I did this a couple of times to make sure. Then I replaced the back, and tightened the nut around each of the pots from the front of the unit (I used a thin screwdriver to get into the small gap and tightened them - I read somewhere that if the pots are loose then it goes into edit mode, too). My POD XTLive now works like new again. Hope this helps
@@asahatoo i did much what clockworkeyes has said apart from the tightening and it seemed to work. I did buy another 2nd hand unit and put all my patches on as backup tho. Good luck.
