After playing Star Rail, ZZZ, and Genshin in English (American) I will absolutely be playing this exclusively in English just because of the actual English and different accents. It's what makes Reverse 1999 should a joy and breath of fresh air to play and this is the same now.
Both versions are amazing, but EN version was more unique. Her accent gave her a little more personality. Also that was a very nice intro to her history. So Rover was the one that made the organization together with Shorekeeper and she has been defending it waiting Rover return someday. We are just missing now who is the true mysterious leader that control the organization (Super AI made by Rover, maybe?).
Look, i usually play with JP voices, but the EN VA it's so peak that i'm replanting playing the game with EN VA I just love Shorekeeper EN voice, also Daybreak with EN Jinhsi's VA was so peak
About Shorekeeper's identity.. I think she's Gaia, or "Mother Earth", as it's been hinted she's actually millions of years old. I believe she's made of the Remnant Energy or "memories" of the planet itself, like a naturally occurring Sentinel, and that once Rover found her through their crazy strong resonance ability they gave her this duty to maintain the Black Shores. This made her feel at peace, as she could finally help her "children" and that allowed her to solidify her physical form on a more permanent basis, giving rise to the woman we see here as "The Shorekeeper"
The audio (especially BGM) IMO is the massive improvement in this showcase! But their EN audio messed up a bit in the end since I can barely hear MRover unless if I put headphones😅
Theory time: I believe that the Shorekeeper is actually the Tethys system itself. Her physical form might have been due to research on Echos, on how Vibrations can have physical form. So humans may have created the Tethys system and gave her a Physical form before the destruction when they were probably reasearching on the Tacet fields. Post the destruction the Rover found her and entrusted the task of being the last harbour for mankind to rebuild.
she is millions of years old anhd was not created at all by humans she didnt even come from solaris 3 itself as even the devs mentioned her ult showcases a glimpse of the starry sky of her homeworld. she is likely a being similar to the one that gave life to the rover
Nah not really. I've been playing WuWa with JP dub since 1.0 but will be switching to EN because of Shoekeeper's VA. You can feel her emotions throughout her Resonator trailer. 10/10 voice acting.
It's one of those rare case where the en version is better. the english pitch is better fitted for the character. The japanese pitch doesn't feel right at all. She sounds too much like a little girl in japanese, it doesn't fit the poised and mature feel of the SK.
So that's how Sea of Flames became Sea of Flames... 😮 I love how they use both Rovers! Can't wait for the update~ best of luck with our pulls, everyone! May wanters be havers~ 🫶🏻

In this case yes. Not saying the JP VA is bad either but the EN VA really did a good job of portraying Shorekeeper.
