The Sheikh is correct in his synopsis of the problem. However, this problem is so multifaceted. Security lapses and ineptitude. Poorly trained to deal with guerrilla type warfare. Then we have injustices and Futafula reprisals over years of injustice. Those that killed Fulani are not arrested. Fulani who kill, kidnap, terrorize are rogue elements among the Fulani. Motivated by reprisals and lack of job opportunities. Most of them are uneducated; both in Quranic Law and worldly education.
The government seeks a military solution to the insurgencies which has flamed the fire. Increasing the recruitment for these groups. The government authorized militias which killed unarmed Fulani families who aren’t related to the bandits.
The government’s inability to create an effective solution to the grazing lands problem. Mediating between the Fulani Herdsmen and Farmers. The list goes on and on!
I still wonder why gumi is still not in jail. Nigeria chai
