AD&D 2e was my jam. I've always wanted to go back to that system and this might just be the way to get my group to do so. Looking forward to more videos and recaps about this one!!
Sounds like a great game. Non-gold treasures (ex: the harpy feathers) are a good thing. I always modify creature statblocks as needed, so I of course support your Lesser Harpy stat block.
Since your players are not playing classes that have access to healing, you could allow them to apply Triage, much like using the Healer's Kit and the Medicine skill in D&D 5th Edition, or you can have one of the players take Healing (although it is only normally available as a Priest Category skill. You could also give them access to Herbalism. Perhaps homebrew a list of Tonics that they can use to heal themselves or treat poison. More creatively, you could let the player choose the common or magical ingredients that belong in those recipes.
It’s a free pdf, but I haven’t done a side-by-side comparison. You can use the DrivethruRPG link in the video description and then search For Gold & Glory and you’ll see what you need. Free PDF rule book and form fillable character sheet.
This is a great game. I stumbled upon it a few years ago. Had to buy the physical copy!
Yes I really like it, plus it’s the only OSR retro clone of AD&D 2E that I know of, and it appears to have simplified 2E in very positive ways.

Thanks for the tip.
Thank you for the video, sir.
Nice recap! Old School D&D is the best D&D.
Sounds like a cool game. Can you just use the 2nd ed handbook?
