I used to buy those disposable film cameras for my kids that had 24 shots. This was before smartphones. Seeing the world through a five year old’s perspective was pretty cool.
Loved this and can't wait for the next one! It was super funny how your wife peeked into frame when you started talking about the other camera. Thanks for sharing!
Brought back wonderful memories when I was in photography class and we only had film cameras back in the day, I absolutely love it. Keep up the great work son 😀😘
I have one of these cameras. I bought it around 2018 at a flea market for 5 dollars, it worked really great, never over or underexposed any shots, almost always nailed focus, then just a few days ago without warning, it died. I've never enjoyed a point and shoot more than this specific one, and I'm probably going to buy another one.
My recommendation: sell that point&shoot and use that same amount of money to buy a fully mechanical, manual SLR from somewhere in the 70s/80s era. Pentax and Minolta have lots of affordable - because not yet hyped - options.
SLR systems are a slow downward spiral into excessive G.A.S. which is the main problem. One lens leads to adding another and couple to several hundred dollars later...
Ebay often has the Vivitar 400SL , with a 50mm f1.9 lens and a 200mm telephoto for around $40. Fully mechanical with a light meter. Mine came with a flash and a case as well as a 2x teleconverter. Takes M42 mount lenses, of which there are a lot of really good beautiful options.
Nice video. I got my first one of these in 2010, I've bought 4 more since then so I'd always have one that worked. Other than one's flash not working they all still work. Great cameras.
Absolutely incredible. I've always like the more "soft" lenses on my rigs because they give them a more film look. Film images just have this life to them. I know they are less sharp images but they feel more real. Does that even make sense?
Haha Josh, I did the same thing dude. Started off on the cheaper side with a Canon AE-1, got hooked instantly. Then spent every single day looking at photos and researching the Mamiya 7 until I had it.
No judgement on the photos. Love the honesty in this video. With any camera you have to get used to it. I'm maybe 8 rolls into my Olympus XA2 and i'm just starting to work out what works best. Great content Team Moment. 🤙
Very interesting way to look at analog film. It does force you to be true to what you just shot. I try to go back and forth to keep both digital and analog “muscles” working. 🦋
man all these film photography videos on the channel really make me want to get into film too 😭 my only camera is the fujifilm sq6 but getting 35mm film developed and seeing the results looks so fun and rewarding :)
I just bought the same camera 4 weeks ago (Canon AF35ML) and I think yours has a problem with the autofocus. Almost all of my photos came out sharp so far. Yours seems to miss a lot of focus.
I currently own a few film cameras along with some digital ones of course. The best ones I use on a daily basis is either my Contax G1 with a 35mm lens which of course is rather pricey, however the best in terms of quality and price has to be my Canonet QL17 Giii Highly recommended this beautiful little rangefinder camera. Sharp 40mm 1.7 lens, built in light meter, and a slew of other little things that'll help beginners who are not used to shooting film
Try using a variable ND Filter. The red light should light up when there is not enough light. So just adjust the filter in a way that the light turns off :)
Great video mate. I've just gotten into film after trying vintage lenses on my mirrorless camera. It's certainly been a fun journey! Thanks for sharing mate, love your channel!
CATCH YOU GUYS ON THE NEXT ONE. PEACE????? THAT IS SO MKBHD!! Hahahaha josh totally reminded me of mkbhd months ago when he was first introduced to Moment team. Love the video!
I rarely shoot digital anymore, film is just so fun. loved watching your journey into this wallet burning -hobby- addiction haha I smell cameras, you're not alone don't worry
Nice video!! Maybe I would have grabbed a square format camera!! But I mean if you don't like the square then OK!! I have a Yashica mat 124g and a kiev 60!! I love the Yashica!! Have a nice light my friend!!
Actually I just discovered the other day a point and shoot that has a great design and isn’t so expensive: the konica big mini (the BM-201 to be more specific)
How much money did I spend in this video? Make sure to watch until the end ;)

Wow, you just gave me an idea for a project!
Pretty glad you’re part of the moment team. Another person I just enjoy watching and learning from 🥳 it’s always a good time with moment!

I’m jealous of how affordable and quick your local developing is!
Film feels warm and cozy, like reliving my childhood again

At 7:52 what camera and lens are you using for that handheld vlog shot with that wide field of view and shallow depth of field? Looks amazing.
I'm such a noob but I'm in love
Lolz

Came here to say this, if you do some digging you can probably get 2 slrs for the price of that point and shoot, or a body and 2 lenses.

@@slr7075 imo I’d rather have a bunch of lenses than a bunch of point and shoots that all do the same thing.

That video was actually pretty interesting keep doing stuff like it:O

it does

Films really do have that look! I dont know how to explain it, maybe it looks like real memories or something 📸
I have the Canon AF35M (the previous model to yours) and I love it!

Loved watching this Josh! Been looking in to film cameras myself. Hoping to pick one up soon

Ivony’s cameo at the end. I’m dying.

I’m shooting on film , yours videos are very good!!!

🙌🏼 yesss do more film stuff!!
Tips:
overexpose the film a bit
Maybe use a ND filter for wider aperture
The way Joshua smells the camera hahaha Film photography is 🔥🔥
You can tell a lot about a camera by it's smell lol

The film winding is satisfying
YES! So satisfying - a real mechanical experience

Once you enter the film rabbit hole there is no going back 😂

I just got into film myself and I never had so much fun with photography before that. Love the video! (Also I’m big fan of Grainydays as well)
Cameras are wild !

How did you get your film photos to digital images??
by scanning
Your photography starting at 7:05 made my jaw drop. Amazing work! You should make a video with Mike Gray
very helpful and interesting thank you

I long does it take to come in after getting sent to a lab?
Shout out to grainydays 🙌🏻

canon afml is dope
Juice Box Fam for Life!!!
~28$ for film processing is a lot expensive, I think. Maybe the price is dependent on region? (I'm in Vietnam and 3 rolls just cost me ~7$)
Damn I need to pull out my RZ67 Pro!
amazing content
5:34 look at the chair on the left
wait I want that sweater...
Wait a second, is that a medium format film camera behind you? 🤔
Edit: Yep, you caught the bug 😅
is the AF not working?
yeah i dont think it is. anything up close was not in focus
What's that MF camera doing in the background of a "My first Film Camera"? 😄
Should've watched till the end, before commenting 😁
📷❤
Found one for 5$ today sweet
Thank goodness for technological progress. The hassle of buying film and developing it would be a financial and time suck.
If you love something...is it a hassle?
I really want to get the M-A
I thought u were mkbhd for a sec
and there is that zenza bronica lying in the background.....
Did you watch until the end?
@@moment do i have to watch until the end?
See, you just do it. Now wasn't that fun?
Sheesh...
What I do? Haha
@@joshuamartinstudios you made a great video on 80s tech. The 80s just had some great looking devices.
A film camera shot in AUTO mode. That’s weird.
