We lived in the Tri Cities for 20 years, just about an hour from there. Walla Walla is such a quaint little town, I loved visiting there. I never knew about the Adam West/BATMAN connection, Im glad to see it now has its own special day!!! 👍👍
Adam West was my first Batman. I got a kick out of his voice work as Catman on The Fairly Oddparents. Mister West had the unique ability to poke fun at himself.
That is amazing, thank you for sharing your trip with us. I used to watch Batman when I was a little kid in the 1970s and I loved and recently I bought the DVD box set. So happy for you and your brother that y'all got to go and experience this wonderful BatFest.
@@PaulTesta the bus rolled down Bedford Ave in Bellmore. they didn't get out but waved to everyone. what a mob scene, it was like the whole town was there.
One movie that's a must see is Batboy Begins. A boy wanted to be Batboy for his Make a Wish in New York and the mayor, police dept. and a lot others helped out actors were playing the Peguine and the Riddler. A guy lent his Lamborghini to use as the Batmobile. I like how a real NY cop arrested the Penguin
I love all the vehicles. That Michael Keaton era vehicle was cool looking but I heard many reports of it and it's copies not working very well during production. The 1966 Batmobile was so well done. The hidden switch in the bust of Shakespeare and the receding wall was nicely recreated. I thought Batgirl's motorcycle was pretty cool until I looked up the specs for it a couple years ago. (Now curious about the Batcycle with side car- GIS) That too is very underwhelming but still fun to look at. Looks like it was a fun time.
I was there. I was the guy with the long hair in cosplay, who accidentally knocked the sign over. I go every year. It's a special day for me. It means more than my own birthday.
No doubt about it Dan... you, me, and the gym need to start a steady relationship... and I mean that both sincerely and mutually. AWESOME VIDEO THOUGH!!!
I think why Adam, Michael, & the wonderful character they shared endures, is he had no powers. He was just like us, but had to deal with his parents brutal murder in the back story. Adam played it camp. Which was a great decision in the backdrop of Vietnam and civil unrest. And him, Burt, and all the stars did a fantastic job, with of course, Adam setting the pace. Glad you enjoyed yourself, the video was great, and thank you !!!
Adam actually wrote his name on a door in the room -- I think a closet door, from the picture I saw of it a few years ago that was taken during a tour some of the special visitors did during the first Adam West Day in 2017. I was told that the door signing occurred during a visit Adam did to the house sometime in the 2000s. He wrote something like "The Old Room! Bill Anderson. Adam West." (Bill Anderson was his real name.) One of the current owners told me the signed door had been opened in a position in which it was getting hit by the sun from the window during the time when the house was unoccupied, so the autograph took a bit of a hit.
Thanks for sharing, Dave! How far is Walla Walla from Seattle? I would love to visit if it’s not too far away. But it sounds like it was a great event and it was probably an honor to speak at it!

I was ten years old in 1966 so I watched it first run "IN COLOR".
I wanna go! What a fun event! Good reporting. 👍🏼
Thanks Marla!
What a wonderful sentiment Dave👍 I too wish America could return to the civility of those bygone days.
Oh that is SO cool! I will have to add that to my bucket list!
You’d definitely enjoy it!
This is awesome! Looks like you had a lot of fun! Keep up the great work reminding us of the good ole days! 😀👍
Thanks so much! It was a great day.
I also remember Adam West as Captain Quick in commercials

Yep. Adam’s ability to not take himself seriously was one of his super powers.
Fun stuff. Surfer has a very accurate Batman costume.

My family saw Adam and Burt in 1966. Promotional bus tour that came through our town in NY. I was only 4 yrs old but my mom took 8 mm video.
What NY town?

I've seen the Keaton Batmobile at the TVLand convention 20 years ago. It was a hit.
It was pretty darn cool!

I've seen it. It's quite the enjoyable video.
I've always wanted to go sometime, but it's a 5 hour, 300 mile drive.
Over 500 miles for me. Still, it was worth the long drive.
Holy road trip!! You're just around the corner! I live in south Texas!!!

Satellite radio did Batman original song today? Life is is strange.
Quite the coincidence!
