What I don’t understand with SM is that why don’t they promote the side tracks of their artists albums and why do they keep on insisting/focusing with their title tracks? They could release an MV or something. I do believe that SM artists will gain more popularity if they just promote them in the right way because they have the best music indeed. 😒
SuYeolYam it’s how pop music has always worked everywhere :) it’s usually two or three title tracks that you hear everywhere and then they work on another album. The title tracks are usually designed to be popular, more catchy, and at first glance less complex and the rest of the songs are more artistic and less catchy and for people that buy the album- otherwise they wouldn’t have as much album sales because a lot of people wouldn’t have a reason to buy the album if they could hear the entire thing already, only die hard fans or collectors would buy it, so they design it like that for a reason ^^ Edit: typo

SuYeolYam there’s a reason why SM is one of the big three companies: they know how to deal with their business. People need to focus on one song, one “catchy” title that they will remember. That’s how red velvet became popular. If they start to promote everything, no one will focus on anything anymore and people will lose interest.
SM has thought of that too, and I guess it's depending on the team that handles a group, e.g. for NCT's Neo Zone Album, the Brainstorming Team decided to make Track Videos of the songs and posting the full official audios of the songs on RUclips which is crazy for an album promotion. SM really invested their effin money to NCT for producing those MVs, they trust NCT to return the amount of the capital spent to them. I hope, when RV returned with a comeback the Promotion Team would do the same tactics too.

ytsas41680 - Hitchhiker produced the track. The proper addition to the title would be *(Prod. by Hitchhiker)* but SM doesn't usually do that. Producers are credited on the song credits/documents. Hitchhiker working for an SM girl group track made me excited. The last time he worked for a girl group was (if I'm not mistaken) for f(x)'s Pinocchio which is an absolute bop. I don't think an *idol* would best describe Hitchhiker. He's one of SM's in-house producers like Kenzie and Yoo Young Jin.

ytsas41680 - Hitchhiker produced the track. The proper addition to the title would be *(Prod. by Hitchhiker)* but SM doesn't usually do that. Producers are credited on the song credits/documents.
Hitchhiker working for an SM girl group track made me excited. The last time he worked for a girl group was (if I'm not mistaken) for f(x)'s Pinocchio which is an absolute bop.
I don't think an *idol* would best describe Hitchhiker. He's one of SM's in-house producers like Kenzie and Yoo Young Jin.
