Moses, I worked for JBHI in Haslet. I have to say, it was one of the best places I ever worked! The staff I worked with in the office was so friendly, polite, and professional. The equipment was well maintained, had good tires, and had low miles. You hear all the horror stories of oppressive dispatchers, junk equipment, and drivers just being used and abused. Nothing could be further from the truth at JBHI in Haslet. I worked the Chicken Express Dedicated account at JBH before transferring to intermodal and the culture was the same there. There are higher paying driving jobs, but there are not many who treat their drivers like JBHT. Good luck with your future ambitions!
Clearly you are a valuable driver to the J B Hunt team, and they didn't want to see you leave yet they still told you "Thank You" for your service. The manager also worked to utilize your time from a live unload to a drop and hook which allowed you to continue for more revenue dollars. As a "dedicated account" driver I'm going to mention there are times when you have to just follow what the customer wants for service when a manager can't change something to your desires. I wish you nothing but the best to your future career, just remember you can return to JB if you need to based on your past performance.
Congrats with your new position at JB Local driving requires patience and skills to be successful with safety always in the forefront. If you take your time practice “GOAL” when needing to I have no doubt you’ll be a great asset to the team Keep communications open with your manager Good Luck
