@@jaymeojeda1160 you’re right on the first part 100% but I do think Big Macs are good flavor wise but the small ass patties they use ruin it and make it disappointing and not worth it but if they had bigger patties like this it’d be amazing
Within seconds of finishing this video, I was out the door to McDonalds. Big Macs don't taste the same as they used to (like strawberries) since I was a kid. But using the McDonalds app, I added an extra patty and sauce and it came out pretty damn amazing...like I remembered it many years ago. I think customizing it made it more fresh than just sitting there premade. Thanks BenDeen for the inspiration!
They briefly had 3 sizes for the big mac awhile back in America. I think largest one was the Grand Mac and actually did have the quarter pounder patties. The smallest was the Mac Jr. and was essentially a regular cheese burger with shredded lettuce and mac sauce. I guess the Grand Mac didn't do as well in America, maybe the different flavor of the patties was too different to the original.
The grand mac still had smaller patties than the QP patties , the grand mac was hardly any bigger than the original big mac. just seemed like a marketing scam
@@praiseganja You like McDonald's so you're the last person who should be talking about tastebuds. Anyone who finds it enjoyable and says their burgers taste different, are used to eating garbage and mind is tricking them like they taste different because they have different names.
My hack is just ordering a plain Mcdouble, it only costs $1 more and adding it to the Big Mac, this way you don't lose the taste profile, a authentic/true double Big Mac at the lowest cost around. I've done the double Quarter Pounder, problem is you can never scrape off all the ketchup, and the cost is double.
*Never thought about using different patties on a BIG Mac. But as the regular patties seem to get smaller and smaller, it is indeed a good idea to switch it out lol.*
For the big mac, I just remove the top bun. Flip the top meat and middle bun so the two meats touch. It tastes great but the big mac is just too expensive at around 4.89 or close to 5 bucks and it will not fill you up like a quarter pounder or whopper. I think the burger you made with the big mac patties probably doesn't taste like a big mac or a mcdouble because of the ketchup/mustard on the bun of the quarter pounder.
thats why i get the 2 for $6 where you can mix n match and get a quarter pounder and a big mac, or use the deal on the app for buy one get one free so you can save money and enjoy both
A few times in the US and some other countries, they’ve done a Grand Mac with larger ~3.2oz patties. I wish they’d have it more often. And it probably tastes different here because you had ketchup on the DQPwC and the Big Mac usually doesn’t have that.
they have that now homie, its called a grand mac. try my hack. I cal it the pimp mac, its a big mac with a chicken fillet patty instead of one of the beef patties.

The patties in the Big Mac, McDouble, Hamburger, are all the exact same. Quarter pounders are the only burgers that are cooked FRESH never frozen beef patties (at least here in the USA). So yeah, not sure why the Quarter pounder with the big mac patties would taste any different from a McDouble other than the fresh chopped onions?
I didn't know that about that patties!!! Thanks for sharing that. I don't think I ever had their quarter pounder (I only have their chicken nugs 😋...regular burgers went downhill many years ago...same goes with fries). Maybe I'll try it.
@@apara2005 100%! The ONLY burger I eat from McDonalds are quarter pounders because of the fact that it is fresh beef. I still do enjoy the McDoubles but definitely try to steer away from them as they contain WAY more preservatives vs the quarter pounder patties (you can tell just by reading the ingredient lists on the official McD website!). My go to order is usually a quarter pounder with cheese + a filet o fish (they are always on the BOGO deal for me in the app!) and it comes out to ~$5.50!
