Yes, that valley seems to be even colder than the surrounding areas. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I hope to see you out on the water one day as well.
I enjoy watching your videos and I like seeing your what fly you are using. Just getting into fly fishing and would love to fish the Nantahala river. Do you fish the rafting part, above, or below? Thanks
@CalebBerrongOutdoors we drove by the Nantahala second week of November but did not fish it. We took a few casts by the island at the wayside. You were much farther up. We stuck with the Tallulah Snowbird and Santeetlah. We got some beautiful fish about the same size as yours and went to see the damage from the hurricane before we headed home
Underwater shot of brook trout is amazing
Thank you. It was the prettiest fish of the trip.
Ain’t nothing like that Eastern Brookie. Still my favorite over mahi for color. Y’all crushed them. Thanks for sharing.

Yes the soft hackle of the fly is the squirrel.
Did you use any other fly besides the pink squirmy ?
With a heavy bead on the squirmy it fishes really well as a jig streamer. There are other flies featured in the video also. Did you watch entire video
Yes, the other flies shown in the video were also used throughout the day to catch fish.
Where were you on the river. Fished it once do not remember much about it.

Only time of the year you can really fish it heavily loaded with Rafters and campers during the warm months
