Great job, starting taking notes, you seeing the light. You learn as you go along. By 3rd year you going to look back on 1st year and say "mi did real use to do that!?"
Absolutely Enjoyed it and The editing wowwwww!!!! Uwi is my dream uni and just watching this (despite the stress it brings lol) motivates me so much so.thank you Shamar! Keep up the good work🙂👏🏽
This is a very interesting perspective on the Jamaican college life , good stuff Shamar 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I’m American , but am considering to apply at a polytechnic University in Jamaica . Do you come across a lot of American students on your campus ?
Planning to start UWI Faculty of Law next year. Lawyer is my dream job. Any tips I should know? How to get involved? Types of friends to make etc? Is it a vibrant atmosphere? How to cope with stress? Financial burdens? Anything helps 😭
Here are a few general tips I usually share: - be prepared for the workload; it’s a lot - understand that by studying law you are not only confirmed to being a litigator in court; the LLB is expansive - From good friendships with those in your faculty And is it relates to what you were asking: - yeah the faculty is vibrant, the Mona Law Society holds a lot of fun events and initiatives to keep the faculty exciting
They go to a law school, most students from UWI go to Norman Manley Law School for 2 years and after the 2 years they sit the bar exam and if they pass, they'll be called to the bar and will be licensed to practice law in Jamaica (and I think the commonwealth in general)
Not really a degree. Attending Norman Manley gives you ur Legal Education Certificate- which is basically the permit that allows you to actually practice the law in Jamaica and become an attorney at law
I would want to but I didn’t buy a single law book last year 😭 instead, there are a variety of online resources and materials that you’ll get access to once you start first year + I also borrowed from the library - which really helped!
Not at all. You don't even have to do CAPE Law to get accepted into the faculty of law But whatever CAPE subjects you do, try to get ones and twos for your application to law to be more secure - it's kind of a competitive faculty to get into
@@ashielove8101 well in the previous comments i was saying that u dont need to have CAPE LAW to get accepted into the faculty of law. just as long as you do good in ur CAPE subjects in general. but with that being said, to answer ur actual question, you don't need to cape to go to uwi. many people start uwi without cape subjects. it depends on the programme though. for example: you need cape subjects to go to faculty of law at uwi, but there are other programmes wherein you would not need cape subjects to pursue unlike the faculty of law. so it all depends on the faculty and programme of study u intend to pursue ... im not sure what those faculties & programmes are though so you'd have to do some indepenedent research to find that part out.
I'm currently enrolled in the paralegal program at UWI and this is exactly what a week during the semester looks like.
Ayeee, I'm actually accurate 😂
A Tutorial with Deon Jackson Miller on the Jamaican Constitution must be fulfilling. There must be alot of very interesting discussions.
yes it is. cant get over her natural radio voice tho loool

SO after a law student finishes UWI what do they do after?

Do you have to attend norman manley law school after uwi?
No you dont
If you go to norman manley, do you get another degree?

Hey, Which Hall Would You recommend For A Law Student?
Honestly ELR Towers because it has so many opportunities to network and a couple of the resident advisors are attorneys at law themselves
