My apologies for the delay in putting a complete build video together as well as running her! Life has thrown every curveball imaginable and some you wouldn’t want to. I ended up replacing the 15hp Evinrude 2-stroke with a new 20hp Tohatsu 4-stroke. With the additional weight of the outboard, 6-gallons of fuel, 20lbs of ice, two guys and gear she drafts only 3” and will cruise half throttle at 20mph all day long. Solo I had her to 29mph with throttle left. At that speed it felt like all that was in the water was the prop! Early July of this year I sold Skipjack to a guy in the DFW area. I just don’t have the space for two boats now that we have built a house on our property. We will publish a complete build video as well as some new content. I just got back to Texas from a week long trip to Florida with our camera guy chasing tarpon and snook as well as hanging out with and learning from Flip Pallot, Blane Chocklett, Brian Fletcher and a passel of other new friends and fishing partners. If you would like to see a video of our adventures and shenanigans, let me know! Until next time, all the best and God bless. ~Michael
Praying for a speedy recovery...looking forward to seeing the final result you have some great modifications ... i also want to build this micro skiff to fish the skinny waters here in Texas
Great build so far sir! Hope your recovery goes well. I especially like that shot of the navigation light-hole where it shows "Made in the USA" on the PVC. ;)b
man hope your recovery is quick and complete! what was the black stuff you put on before the fairing compound? i am planning on this project for next year. i just got done redoing a gheenoe 13 and this lit a fire in me to want to try one of the FRS-14s! really like the splash lip you put on yours!
Speedy recovery! Great video. I haven’t pulled the trigger to buy this same plan. Any issues with the paper plans? Or your ideas to better this boat plan. Wanting to build a small skiff and exhausting the internet of different boat plans.
The Okoume 6mm was purchased and shipped in from Boat Builders Central out of Florida. The glass, resin, and paint from Johnson Marine (?) and just about everything else was from Amazon
Skinny Dipper Fishing how long did it take you? I ordered the plans yesterday and was wondering how many hours it took you but also spreads across how long? Cheers and congrats on completion
What was that black coating before you did the fairing? Those panels didn't seem to fit real good at the stem, was that the plans or maybe your cutting ? Not meaning to sound critical, sry. 👍😊

It was graphite mixed with resin to increase its abrasion strength.
Did you buy the kit that comes with materials or did you get the materials separate

No issues at all with the plans and I did make a couple modifications but nothing too radical
Any updates since the build? Would love to see another video with the outcome
We have been enjoying her for a year now and am putting together a full build video that should be published later this summer.
Where did you purchase your lumber and materials. Thank you

can you please send that paper design i would want to make my own one.
Poderia disponibilizar os Planos?
I wish they had plans for a 16.5 and something with a wider beam , and higher sides more like a full size flats boat , and in kit form 👍🏼
Take a look at their full size FRS-18
What next? Seem all not done!
We actually did complete it a couple years ago and ran the crud out of it.
