I'm currently studying anthropology but I am apprehensive about pursuing this degree due to job security reasons. I watch these videos in order to have an idea of the employment opportunities and also to reassure myself of my decision. I was an anthropologist before I even realized that I wanted to become one. I have always taken interest in understanding 'why' people believe, think or behave a certain way.
I love studying cultural anthropology it's amazing you learn so much about things you've never known, cultures, linguistics , rituals, meanings. Go anthropologist!!!!
I'm 12 and have already started studying for anthropology and have a book from my mothers college and first started in 4th grade when I made up my mine to do it.
I decided I wanted to be an anthropologist when I was 11. I was working on archaeology sites by the time I was 13, and now I am working on my PhD. I still love every moment I spend in the field. My recommendation is that you follow your dreams!
I'm so excited our daughter will be studying this. She will be graduating with her AA in May then hopefully starting the online anthropology program with UF right after. I think it is one of the most interesting fields out there :) We are all about following our dreams and to see our kids doing just that is most exciting!
As a fourth year anthropology student at UF right now, I really recommend she not take the online program. Anthropology requires fieldwork and working in person with people! Sitting at home and learning about people/history/fossils ironically makes you the one thing anthropologists are taught not to be - an armchair anthropologist!
Great video - But as an archaeologist: anthropology?..Buuuh!... (kidding.. it's absolutely the same for us.. except people also seem to think we dig up dinosaurs)
a cop pulled me over on my way home from my college town (LMAO) and he asked me what I was majoring in so I told him anthropology and he goes, “oh. is that the study of ants?” the amount of TIMES i’ve has to explain my major to people oof
I actually don't say Anthropology when anyone outside the academic world ask what is your profession? They simply don't know, and I simply say Sociology 😂
I would have loved to be Anthropologist but can you find work in this field. There's a lot of people with fancy degrees working outside of their field, many unemployed.
Mary Kendzicky ? If it was worthless there'd be no anthropologist including linguistics, archaeologist (which are the same) . Not worthless just need patience? Don't think you'll find a career with that attitude
"What are you going to do with a degree in anthropology?" "Be an anthropologist."
Teresa Zephro BSc haha
lmao

My family always ask me what is anthropology, because they don't know what I'm studying ... This is great to show them.

As an Anthropology RUclipsr it was so fun to see this video! I love finding other vids about the field (especially when there aren't all that many!)
Great video - But as an archaeologist: anthropology?..Buuuh!... (kidding.. it's absolutely the same for us.. except people also seem to think we dig up dinosaurs)
Kasper Selvejer it kinda gets annoying when people keep asking "So you dig up dinosaur bones?" Everyone time you tell them what you're studying 😂😂😂
Nice video. I like how you do a bit of a survey of some of the different things that Anthropologists do.
I loved the Archer bit :3
What a great video.
Other 12 year olds: Haha fortnite.
Me, obsessing over forensic anthropology: Ah yes this is a Caucasian Male over thirty.
When you get a little too obsessed with Korekiyo:

I love this video, and I hope you get back to making videos one day!
I'm very interested in majoring in Anthropology, are there any jobs for those that hold a bachelors or is a graduate degree needed?
You won't get any job in anthropology...

What in the world is anthropology? Like what classes you take?? Is this major well for a Christian?!
I mean, many believe in evolution..
One of the first classes you take as an anthropology major is a biological anthropology class which is all about evolution
Hi I’m a practicing Christian and believe in evolution so yes
Caroline Hi I’m a practicing Christian and believe in evolution so yes
Is it true anthropology, you need a PhD degree?!
Need for what?
Of course. Research requires lots of education.
anthropology is a worthless major
Mary Kendzicky ? If it was worthless there'd be no anthropologist including linguistics, archaeologist (which are the same) . Not worthless just need patience? Don't think you'll find a career with that attitude

It is a worthless major. Nobody cares about anthropology. Good luck getting a job in it.
